There are already too many Premiere tutorials out there! How about identifying the most efficient tools (similar to Quik) and compare them? Most of us don't have the time to get into Premiere Pro (learning curve etc) and must rely on easier solutions. A family father, husband, full-time job... no way on earth there would be enough time for over-complicated tools like Premiere!

I did register to gopro subscription when purchasing my GoPro10 so I have an unlimited access to Gopro Quik Application. Being a Beginner I do really appreciate that kind of video which does clarify clearly the things to start on GoPro Quik Editing 😉. You did really detail all things for each step adding beside comments always helpful.😎 That video is just a good sample of video editing as well. I will review several times that video for sure. 🙃

Bit late to the party here, but what an easy to follow video! I use Quik to edit my GoPro 11 footage as I am so confused on Adobe Premier Pro, which I subscribe to. it's a quick edit option and I've picked up a few useful tips from watching this video. Would love to see a detailed vid on Adobe, basic stuff... would help a lot. Thanks and love your vids you both create! 🙂
Great video, thanks....i've recently bought a GoPro Hero 11 Black (previously had the 7 Black & the 3 Black before that so fairly big jumps). Thanks for sharing the Quik application features! Just recently got a GoPro and i've been trying to do bball highlight videos for my sons using GoPro Studio but its no longer supported. I wasn't aware that the app is the best way to go but it seems to give you more control and creativity. Thanks alot!

Been using app for year, got subscribtion, then they had update and problems started with exporting and it was really frustrating. Was really mad at that time. Switchted to Kinemaster, much more options and much better app.
Quik is the same like gopro cameras, there are good and bad days 😂 But thank you, man, for your content. 👍

Hey Jake, cool video as usual. If you hold down on your footage while editing your colours before clicking the tick then I'm pretty sure you can compare it to your original footage 👌 a convenient little trick when editing in quik 😄 Maybe a video of how you store all your footage from GoPros? Do you only use cloud on the app (which I find a little bit slow) or do you move the media completely to an alternative hard drive? 🤔
Cheers Daire, with all of our content we back up everything to a 4TB HDD and then we do a second back up onto our NAS server. So we always have 2 copies of all of our content :)

I have a GoPro 10 and recently had an issure on my Android getting all of my memory used up. I finally discovered it was the Quik app after uninstalling all the other apps. Is there a way to use the Quik app without it maxing out all of my phone memory ? Very frustrated as I love the camera and would love any suggestions. TIA Cindy

I have been watching GoPro since they first launched. I finally took the plunge and bought a GoPro 10 Black. I was really excited to own this Action Camera with all the features built in... then I started to import my files to my PC and started to realized the limitations of this Camara. I will not pay for any subscription services, nor will I pay extra for any missing CODECS that are not present in the software suite. I actually reached out to GoPro, had several email conversations, also on the phone several times...
I told myself afterwards.... "I am NEVER going to buy anything from GOPRO ever again. Those Surfer Dudes can keep their Crap.

@@JakeRichandAnnaChah Thanks, I'm using DaVinci, Gimp, and Inkscape which seems to be user friendly and free open source software. I just want a positive experience. GoPro Surfer Dudes really pissed me off with their proprietary B.S. and for $1.29 more, I would have spent the extra at POS (point of sale) at $650 CND, they should have charged $651.29 and included missing codec and everything would have been fine. 🙄
Hello Jake and thanks for sharing! Just playing around with the app and indeed it seems pretty easy to work. However i would like to check it a bit more before subscribing and it seems that i cannot save my videos unless I first subscribe. So, I am afraid there are not 2 options here..

Great video thanks. The only problem I’m having with the app is it taking up so much space on my phone. I moved all the files to the cloud and the app said I had nothing on the phone but the app was still taking up 40 gigs of space

screen record your cell phone then add a .png phone cut-out to mask the top of the video, super easy
Can we synchronize the music with the video on quick ?
And also i wanted to know, for someone that doesn't have epidemic sound, how one can edit its video base on a commercial music for example ? (Because if use the feature on instagram to add music onto reels, then the video is not gonna be synchronized with the music, since we started to edit it without music)
Hi, great video. I don't see an answer to this question though: when I put a video clip in "studio" it doesn't play the entire length of the clip in the edit. How do I get it to play the entire video clip? It only plays a few seconds of it. Thanks for your help
Hello, When on editing mode, tap the pencil icon on each clip, then choose Trim. You can turn off Auto-HiLight. Once done, you should be able to include the full clip length in your edit.
Hey jake, do you know if there is a way to add transitions when manually editing the videos? It seems go pro will add them for you but I can't find a way to do them myself?
Unfortunately not, Quik is limited in that regard, for more custom mobile edits i would download adobe rush and start using that or move towards a desktop workflow with premiere pro

Cuando pescas en penas o zonas rocosas debes poner líder nuevo. Siempre . Por lo mismo que poco a poco va sufriendo cortes por las penas o conchas. Otra cosa que me gusta practicar cada 2 salidas a pescar le corto 1/2 metro como 2pies de la línea porque es otra parte que sufre mucho estrés y las fibras pierden fuerza. Few tips and words on how to submit for GoPro awards. How the editing is done for those? It's been told that it should be 100% GoPro footage which is obvious but also should be raw footages without any edits or filters. Can you elaborate on how to submit one for chances of winning? Thanks!
yeah raw footage always and make sure you fill out as much info as you can on how the shot was created, which mode, mounts, accessories used, insights, gopro awards always love a good story!
If I recorded the video in flat color, will I be able to nicely edit it while still on holiday without taking the laptop with me, or better to record the content in Gopro color mode?

For faster edits use gopro colour, flat can be a bit tricky to colour grade

Thanks for the video. Everyone proposes to use flat / log profile and than do colour grading for GoPro clips in post. However if I only want to use the quick app is it worth the effort or will there be no difference since the colour grading in the app is very basic? Thanks
Definitely not, using flat \ log is a waste of time if you’re editing in quick. These profiles are designed for professional editing suites and colour grading tools, we would use gopro colour and have as much fun as possible on our adventures and during the filming process! Quik is a great tool for getting those moments off your gopro and shared with friends and family 💫

I'm currently using GoPro Hero 11 and whenever I edit the file exported from the camera it shows as a black screen and the app is useless since it was made for editing but I cannot edit my clips there. I'm very new to the Quik app. What is driving me nuts is trying to use it with Themes and I get blank sections of my video where it's just a black screen, then a video and then black screen. Sometimes I see the theme effects but not showing my videos on them.

Maybe I didn't know what I didn't know so I tried using the app for several minute long videos. I do this for relatives I can pick it up on a fly and pull anything together from tens of thousands of my shots cross indexed in Google photos, the AI lets me see a lot of the potential and then lets me tweak it. I have never had a tool like this, and it's going to take a whole lot of pull to get me off of this and stuck in front of some laptop or Tower pc.
So I wish you would consider this in your introduction because I think it puts people, at least some of them, on the wrong track.

Yes, editing a 20 minute video needs to be done on a laptop or a desktop

OK, I can see what you are doing with GoPro Quik. But do you have a video on this program on what we can do with just the FREE version of Quik????? So what can't the Free version do that you show in your video????
Because allot of this I can probably do in the FREE "Video Proc Vlogger" program. I also have the Filmora Video Editor for editing videos (both these have similar looks to them).
Not sure, but Adobe Premiere is probably pretty expensive for what I need to do with videos.
I eventually want to get all my GoPro Max videos over onto my PC laptop for editing and I guess I can do the reframing on my phone. Don't know the limitations because I just bought the GoPro Max a few days ago. So I am a newbie at the 360 degree video editing.

How long can a video edit be? I have a number of clips and photos form my holidays, may be an hours worth or even more, would I be able to do all of that and put it together on the Quik app? I don’t want to use anything else as I am enjoying using the Quik app on my iPad
I wouldn’t recommend it, try adobe rush or CapCut for desktop, quik is designed for video edits under 30 seconds
At 5:08 when your selectec a certain part of the video you want, instead of selecting that section of the video, how would i cut it out

I am unable to put together multiple video clips I made during my family vacation in the quik app. All I get is a black screen with backround music and/or music. Any suggestions how to fix this?
Our suggestion is to try another editing suite like CapCut or adobe premiere rush

when I put the clips together in Quik app, I do the editing myself, nevertheless at the end of the video the logo of gopro appears. Can you somehow deleate this logo? Thank you.
You can certainly delete the GoPro logo from your video, click on it, in Quik or tap the 3 dots normally top right of the logo clip and choose to remove it from your edit
