    I spent the money for Full body Gloss PPF and 5 year ceramic coating on my ultra red S. To me, it's worth it for enhanced gloss and peace of mind. I feel like an underrated feature of PPF is how minor scratches and swirls can heal in the sun. To most people it's probably not worth doing it all, but when you spend almost 100k, what's 7k for protection?

    Don't forget the horn can be activated by simply grabbing your hand around the right wing of the yoke. Works great.

    I enjoy my April 22' MS LR. Had a few issues that service has corrected with the yoke and front sway bar. I couldn't ask for a better car with the performance it has for the price. It's the best looking model Tesla makes imo. I'll probably get another MS if/when they update it again.

    This was a great video.
    One clarification on the horn. On Project Highland and most likely Project Juniper the horn is a traditional horn feature.
    If you want performance but don't want the price tag of the Model S then the Model 3 Performance would be your best best choice.

      Indeed that appears to be the case for 3/Y refresh. I hope they come to their senses and fix it for the S/X

    I had a Mercury grand marquis with two little buttons for the horn. I couldn’t find the horn quick enough to prevent a lady from backing into me so I’m biased against not having the horn in the center of the wheel as a safety issue.

    I noticed the long range model didn’t feel as fast when using cheetah stance compared to just stomping the pedal. They didn’t do plaid test drives then but I think they do now. Noticing demo model plaids with some mileage on it

    • @user-zf1ol7op7y
      @user-zf1ol7op7y 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The same situation exist on the Plaid as well. There are MANY documented cases where the difference in performance between “drag strip” mode and Plaid mode is .1-.2 difference going down the 1/4 mile.

    The Model S long range 0-60 3.1 does include the rollout. I am guessing if the rollout was removed it would be around 2.9 and some change for 0-60. This would explain why the rollout was included for the Model S long range.

    • @BeardedTeslaGuy
      @BeardedTeslaGuy  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tesla usually states 0-60 less the rollout, so I’m not sure

    The Model S has always been a very aspirational car in my mind. For an aging design, they still evoke a sense of style that is appealing. Combine that with the maturity of the technology and the Tesla ecosystem (including the Supercharging network), and it's a very compelling choice. I see the Plaid as an unnecessary add-on that appeals more to those that want the prestige of the label than actual need, but to each his own.
    It's just too bad that the car is hampered by several poor choices in the user experience, which you point out. The lack of radar, USS, and decent stalks and horn activation are inexplicable and they are unforced errors on Tesla's part. If I had $75k to spend on a car, it would still be on the my shortlist, but those errors would weigh heavily into the decision.

    Really hope the Model S Plaid's chassis gets improved for 2024/2025. The straight line acceleration is exciting, but the cornering feels like a box of rocks.

    • @Fumbiii16
      @Fumbiii16 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s a full size sedan not a compact sedan. It’s not meant to go around the corners fast. Not what intended to do. It’s a plushy comfy family sedan long wheelbase. If you make it fast around the corner then you sacrifice suspension softness stiff ride.

    I've had my model S plaid since 2022..........the cooled drive seat started to tear due to the holes in the seat from regular wear and tear. Interior quality is subpar!

      waiting for it to drop to $40k and I'm pulling the trigger. That's how much the performance ravens are going for rn, just need another model s refresh. So maybe another 3+4 years give or take?

  • @borinvlogs
    @borinvlogs 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    You said this car is supercar fast. I'd say you are wrong and not many supercars even keep up with it. Plaid is more of a hypercar's level of performance for a pocket change money in comparison to the cost of a hypercar which will also be slower on public road than the Plaid.

    Why does tesla say 1.99. 2.4 is significant difference when you pay 100k

    • @rayshepherd2479
      @rayshepherd2479 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The 1.99 is the time you can get at a prepared track including track mode. At a dragstrip your time includes rollout. Rollout is the distance of about 1 foot before you trip the starting beam at the track. So it's the time slip you would get at a track with a sticky prepared surface.

    The 2025 model S Plaid+ will be coming with the Cybertruck battery pack capable of beating the Sapphire. Then the model S starship will be coming out in 2026 with updated motors that will be quicker than the Nevera.

    i am wondering about all the bad news from tesla service centers and reliability in general. i mean on the one hand there are a lot of happy tesla owners, on the other hand, the amount of bad news, bad reports, bad reputation of service centers charging fees for teslas fault, what should have been a warranty case...then ppl, who tell about broken stuff, several wierd problems, you won't expect from other manufacturers. it's just hard to believe that's all made up in order to harm teslas, also considering consumer reports, where tesla is found right behind range rover and fiat, which are known for their bad reliability. and then you read also a lot of happy tesla owners, with 0 problems. i personally have met a tesla driver, who did over 300.000 miles with his model, no costs occur, which should be considered odd. then you see all those youtubers, buying teslas filming almost everything, going on roadtrips, sleeping in their cars etc. and then showing wierd noises coming from the dash, bits and pieces badly put together, panel gaps, bad painting quality, autopilot doing wierd stuff constantly, ignoring speed limits, showing objects, where are none, or ignoring objects, which are obviously there, tesla vision quirks etc. etc. my cousin has a M3 performance, the hatch was in a bad position, not straight aligned. opening noises, wind noises. tesla service center said they need to replace it, took them 6 months to get...so idk very difficult to get a proper opinion.

    • @BeardedTeslaGuy
      @BeardedTeslaGuy  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s a super expensive car. You get tremendous value for that money, but if no one can afford it, what’s the point of all that value (performance)
