What’s up doods! A few common questions from this video I’ll answer here: 1. The Mahi we put in the pool we took home for dinner. 2. We released about 50% of our catch this day. 3. There isn’t a legal size/limit we just took enough to feed some friends and family! 4. If you wanna see us clean and cook them be sure to check part 2, linked in the description! Tight lines y’all 🤙🏼🔥🍻
Ryan...this was a terrific vid! You get better with each vid. Please keep them coming. Enjoy the up coming holidays and I hope you get to come home for them. Take care and be safe.
That was awesome! Only thing that ticked me off was your buddy disregarding the safety tips on the trebles. Some time it takes a good snag to learn your lesson
Ryan -- This is yet another example of incredibly creative YouTubing ... Your work just keeps improving by leaps and bounds and I don't see any other fishing-oriented posters keeping up with you. Kudos!
I did the same thing with cod in Sweden. I caught bunches of them and we tossed the ones we wanted in rock pools like that. The water was extra salty from splashing up and evaporation. But the fish lived until we cut them up. But doing it with mahi is really freakin' cool!!
I always praise your edits but really nice again. This fishery is just pure awesome!! I let out a noooo!!!! when that Bull broke off. Don’t know what took your buddy so long. I was like come on man!! 😂😂
You are a real humam dudude and never give up human blessing we love you rian morie loves big loves blessing s amen from tonted mauritius island amen amen amen
This is the first time I've ever heard someone sound like a porpoise when they laughed lol. .. serious just like a freaking bottle nose dolphin .. thats funny.
Awesome video, and very epic fishing! I felt the pain of you losing that bull mahi cause I was fishing the other night for striper and lost a tank and felt the same way
I only heard, when I was a kid and fish were more abundant, of Mahi "Dorado" chasing ballyhoo right to the shore, and got so freaked out that jump into the rocks, so you can grab them (ballyhoo) and used for bait.
Glad to see ur making the best of ur time there man. Such a beautiful place, wish I could go back. Went from living there to bumble-fuck nowhere, Maryland :(
Mahi are actually one of the few underfished species in all oceans so they’re not too highly regulated. Even in Florida there is a pretty high bag limit . Also the bag limit would apply to everyone on the rocks such as the cameraman and the women you hear in the background so I don’t think they were poaching or anything .
Not to mention it’s not terribly difficult to find someone in Japan that wants to eat your extra fish should you happen to have a good day . I used to barter everything I caught when I live in Yokohama .
There isn’t one, but I always abide by the standards we set in Florida, USA. 20” minimum, 10 per person per day. On this day we kept a total of 9 between 6 people 🤙🏼
It was an impressive video. I am a Korean who likes fishing and cooking fish. Subscribe to your channel and try to communicate often. I'll look forward to a good video.
In this video I'm using a 10' shimano Coltsniper. (I think that is what you're asking) I have used hundreds of different fishing rods over the years, definitely too many to list.
Cool vid bro! Catching Mahi-mahi from DA rocks?!! What a sic spot! I went through that heartbreak just last week, I was catching fish left and right landing em all, then I got the big strike I was hoping for, I made the rookie mistake of having my drag set to tight! He made a reel screaming run and broke me off and took "o'l faithful" my favorite lucky popper😢
Dan Dorris not in Japan, however I try and keep myself within the same regulations as FL which is 10 per person. I almost never bring home more than 2-4. Being an extremely fast growing fish (Max lifespan is only around 6 years) Mahi is definitely a more “sustainable” species to consume.
That is so damn cool man! I did some fishing from rocks in Maui and it was super sketch just like you said. Was shooting for a GT on fly but it didn’t happen! Next time ! Check my fishing content out and Get after it ! 🤙🏼

Maeda.its very nice spot.
Ferenc Abai IG you know you know
Epic! Mahi from shore that was unheard of as far as I remember!
Fishing Rod crazy right!!
It is very common in Greece especially from ports and rocks
@@iliketurtles2645 is it there also where you can catch "billfish" from shore?
I only heard, when I was a kid and fish were more abundant, of Mahi "Dorado" chasing ballyhoo right to the shore, and got so freaked out that jump into the rocks, so you can grab them (ballyhoo) and used for bait.
Yeah we catch huge billfish sometimes from shore even from the beach but usually they aren't that big and most anglers use them as live bait
This is really fantastic !
Bob Scruggs thank you!
I had no idea Japan had tropical fish
There's some amazing wildlife and sealife out here!
The drag on your VS is soooo smothhh
8 ball Pool for now haha!
That's so cool how they are in the pool of water like that wow
Gotta keep the meat fresh before we cook em up!

Okinawa beautiful
DZ Malekvali it’s an awesome place!
Awesome! Sounds cliche but that's why it's called fishing not catching. Losing the big one hurts but it's one of the main reasons we keep coming back.
Brian Jenkins 100% true, still hurts when it happens though 🤙🏼😅
Hey gonna be down in florida from maryland by about sunday take me fishing!!!!😜
Cool video but catch what you need and not what you want. Go to Palau and fish
Leon Mengloi we shared the meat with friends and family! Nothing went to waste 🤙🏼 tight lines brother 🍻

live bait on a balloon,,i'm sure a marlin could be caught there...
Jim D yup! Only trouble is getting the right wind, usually the fishing is best when the wind is in your face 😅
Dude did u ever meet up with Outdoor Chef Life???
