Hello Ryan...It looks like you are having a blast! Thank you for sharing your day with us. I always look forward to watching your vids. I can not believe how beautiful the salt water fish are. Take care and stay safe!
A couple years ago I was surf fishing at Sebastian inlet weeds were really thick so I did the best I could and about 40 feet from shore a sailfish leaped out of the water weeds all over it like King Neptune ..what a sight it was like glowing with color
Ryan, What up man! I just got deployed to OKI for 6 months. After this COVID, i plan to slay some pelagic! Can you sure us a video on how to build the jigging rig with the butterfly jig?
Been out here in Okinawa for awhile now and haven’t been fishing. Definitely gonna check out this charter! 🤙🏽 I’ll try some land fishing too. Awesome vid
very nice trip, cant wait till the waters clear up and warm here in Texas, to go after some mahi mahi nothing like the fresh taste of a mahi taco after a morning of fishing. thank you for posting.
hahaha I'm from Palm Beach, I been here in Oki for a long time some of my good friends are deck hands for this charters. Me and the wife caught amazing mahi out here!
Ryan, I love the channel, especially the reel reviews, would you ever consider rod reviews? I have several sweet reels I recently bought, but can't decide on some nice high end rods to pair them with.
I sure wish I woulda noticed the fishing possibilities when I was stationed there. Did however scuba dive! (On “float” Korea twice/Philippines/mainland Japan(Mt Fuji); not a lot of free time if you know what I mean)
very excited after seeing your videos , Girlfriend may be stationed there in a year or so, Want to know what gear I will need to bring with me for boat and shore fishing
Ryan, Is there any way you might consider doing an up close video of the jig and plastic rig so I could try that in SFL? Possibly put a link to that unusual plastic bait also
@@RyanMorie I seen the soft plastic link, but not a link or description of the wire rig that you attach the jig to. I'm on mainland Japan and want to get my hands on some.
Hello, nice video! I've recently discovered your channel, while I was doing some research about fishing in Okinawa. I'm going to stay there for about 2 weeks this August and I would like to go fishing during my stay there. Can you give me some advice about good fishing spots from shore and what fish to target? As far as I know Cape Zanpa and Cape Maeda are famous fishing spots, because the water is so deep there, that even Mahi, Tuna and Sharks come close to shore. I have heard that you can catch Mahi and Yellowfin Tuna from shore, anything else that's interesting to fish for?
InsaneGamingPerformance there’s lots of parrotfish species and other small fish to catch at pretty much every marina. Those spots are good! And I’m still learning the area so I don’t have anything else to share with ya at this time 🤙🏼 tight lines my friend 🍻
@@RyanMorie thank you for the quick reply! I'm already pretty hyped about fishing in Okinawa and I am currently deciding what fishing gear to take with me. I think that I'm going to stick with a light spinning (18 lbs braid) and a heavy spinning (49 lbs braid) setup. One last question, I have heard that fishing tackle is about 20-30% more expensive, than it is on the main land, can you confirm that statement from the Internet? Otherwise I would buy all the necessary tackle in Tokyo and take it with me, Japan has a lot of high quality fishing tackle to offer and it's way cheaper than here in Europe, so I'm going to buy lots of stuff while I'm staying there. I am looking forward to your next upload, your channel gives a great insight into fishing in Okinawa! :)
InsaneGamingPerformance Shimano and Daiwa are cheaper than the USA by 10-15%. I can’t speak intelligently on the rest of the world though. There are some super cool tackle shops in Okinawa, honestly I’ve found a better selection in Okinawa than all throughout Tokyo
Dane Donton I’m no saint, I’ll keep a small one every once and a while if I have a hankering for sushi! But if I don’t need tuna in my freezer I like to let as many go as I can.
Yeah but throwing back a fish with a hook in his mouth is crazy. How is that fish gonna eat anything? To kill it will save it a lot of unneccessary suffering.
Tough duty, huh? Well, somebody's gotta do it and it will give you something to look back on if they ever send you someplace lousy. Especially after a good day like that one.
I know it's probably above your pay grade but I was wondering why the US still maintains a military presence in Japan and second part of the question are the locals cool with that? Not trying to be political just curious.
10:29 when you see it 👀🔥
i love mahi mahi
Where
Was that a marlin?!
The round cuts are most likely from cookiecutter sharks :D
Kevin Mah ahhh I should’ve known that!
Lmaooo the palm beach release u got me with that one!!😂😂

Love to see the Florida hat and landshark fishing shirt. The space coast Thanks you for your service.
Japanese are by far the masters of lure fishing

So cool man. That mahi fight was epic
Nick Fish they’re so funny how sometimes the brawl and sometimes they just sit there.

Saltyfins there’s some much bigger ones this time of year too! Such an awesome fishery
Good day dude, nice place for fishing.
Roderick Bawalan absolutely! Blessed to be here 🤙🏼
What size reel and rod did you use on the boat?
Ryan, I love the channel, especially the reel reviews, would you ever consider rod reviews? I have several sweet reels I recently bought, but can't decide on some nice high end rods to pair them with.
Nah, not something I’m interested in. There’s so many good brands out there and really it just comes down to personal preference
@@RyanMorie Dang. I just scored a sweet deal on a 2013 stella 4k and I have no idea what rod to pair it with
Nice job Ryan
Jason Cochran thanks brother 🍻

Thank u for another 🔥 video. Semper fishing from New River air station.

Man you really are making me miss Japan and the fishing. We would be out in the same basic boat.
Cheers.
Awesome bro, I live in wpb an as you know the drift boats here don't do it like that. Freaking cool.
May I ask how much do you tip the deckhands for this trip?
Nice Fishing 👍😎 your fishing location is very good.. and success is always for you.. Greetings from me, an angler from Indonesia... 👍😎

Great video bro!Lots of fun to watch!
Budjet Bassin thanks my man 👊🏼
It's dynamic fish and fishing.
Since you mentioned marlin, any thought to putting one of those small yellowfins under a kite on the downwind side of the boat while jigging?
William England absolutely I think about that every trip, as soon as I procure the proper gear I’m gonna do that almost every trip
wow man how did you get to travel to Japan like it is free of charge to you? How much did you pay for this fishing boat?
Thanks Ryan, makes me want to try and transfer.
Come on over!
Love your vids keep doing what your doing 👍
Good!! 🎣🎣🎣
Japan is good big fish..
Excellent. Haven't heard from you for a while and wondered if you packed it in. Maybe I am not getting links. I'll have to check.
Dan Hillman yeah man! I’ve been posting pretty consistently the last 6 weeks, there’s some cool stuff that’s just recently been posted 🤙🏼
That hole in that fish wasn’t from the sea lamprey was it
I thought they were only fresh water though?
I lived there 3 yrs
Sir i wish i have one of those reel
Stradic 5000 putting in work!!!... Guess that's why Shimano ain't making them any bigger......
Jarad White one of these times I’m gonna get my feelings hurt 😂😅

The holes are from cookie cutter sharks
It’s a cookie cutter shark. In Hawaii a lot of the fish have them. Then the parasite lives in them
How are you Ryan 🥰
I like the fact that he threw them back cause they are small the Asians oooo he too big put him in put him in 🤦🏼♂️

You sure those arnt Cookie cutter sharks not parasites?
They 100% were cookie cutters 🤣 realized that well after the vid was filmed
@@RyanMorie do parasites form on it after the bite?
Hi . Thanks you bro, from 🇮🇱.
braid used on fk?
Magic O 20lb Yo-Zuri super braid
