I'm in the same boat as you. I'm an American, but I felt a kind of loss as well. Even when Prince Philip died. For me, I think it has to do with the passing of a generation who's character, demeanor and morals were better than the ones of today. Principles upon which I was raised and unlike most of my generation, kept. People tell me that I am '100 years too late.' But that's something I am proud of actually. I'm a bachelor (not by choice). At 69 years of age what you wrote is how my heart feels. Parents, Aunt, Uncles, Brother are all gone and I feel so alone 😔 I have children, grandchildren and great grandchildren but they all have their own lives and families and that's how it should be but common sense doesn't make it less lonely. At the end her Majesty had to much going against her...the loss of her beloved husband, the stress caused from her closest family members, having covid (her mobility issues, lack of energy to name a couple). It's been almost a year and a half for me having it and I still suffer from some of the same things she did. People will be grieving for quite some time. Rest in Peace Your Majesty 😔
And that is one of the great strengths of constitutional monarchy - reminding us that society is organic and that we are all part of a larger family. Canadian here.
We used to sing God Save the Queen at primary school in Australia when I was a little girl…they don’t do that anymore but I still remember..she was my Queen all my life and I doubt there will ever be another like her.. May she Rest In Peace!
I'm a UK citizen, I'm from Cornwall, southern UK and even now watching this is heartbreaking to us. I'm 35 and it's alot for me and many, our nation crying, upset, silent and the country just at stand still for days....... still not used to all this. It's been said she fought bone cancer but no one knew. May she rest in peace.
Hello Cornish Girl - "Cornwall" jumped out at me, as my grandmother was a Bolitho. Sir Edward Bolitho stood guard over the coffin, serving the Crown for the whole of his life, and now the King's representative in Cornwall. I remember how the Queen, about to cut a cake at the Eden Project, disliked the cake knife, and commandeered Edward's sword! Yes, may she rest in peace! /
As an American, I admired her strength and wisdom. She was an inspiration for so many people in so many countries including her own. I know that the crown is based on her life and it was through the series and other videos on TH-cam that I begin to really admire her. She always faced any storm that came her way with strength and determination to see it through. She had a wicked sense of humor that could put a smile on anyone’s face. She will be missed by everyone who knew her and admired her. Rest in peace in your castle up above, your majesty.
bruh she was rich af, had the resources to face such "storms" and didn't really have much of a job other than signing papers passed by parliament and being a showcase for the world to see. 1776 and yet you all are still kissing up to them, while your politicians are going on a rant about the problems of slavery and racism in the world smh.
@@kanamenoname210 so what if she was rich and was the queen? I’m only expressing my opinion on the Elizabeth behind the crown. I’m not a monarchist but, a common person who admires someone. Queen Elizabeth also loved America aside from the corruption in our government or to be honest any countries politics and always remained neutral. I admired her as the person she was on the inside and not the queen. Sometimes people no matter who they are or what corrupted country they live in need someone to admire and use as a role model throughout their lives.
In We2 she worked in the motor pool in the movie when her car broke down when she was a young Queen she got out pulled up hood got it going. Remember during WW2 she and her family never left London during the bombings. They never ran. She was a Tough mum. But she did love all. I’m not British but she was a legend.
Well done! The grief and the sorrow comes through and the imagery well spliced with the music from The Crown. Instead of the death of his father King George VI, it is now the eldest daughter, Elizabeth. She was the last of the immediate family who lived through the Second World War. God bless you Elizabeth, as well as both your father and mother and your sister, Margaret, who have already passed on.
It is interesting that the measure of grief between George VI and Elizabeth II would have been similar but for different reasons. George VI was also beloved but died far too young and this would contributed to a lot of people's grief while with Elizabeth II it was more she was like the world's grandmother, in the Commonwealth realms and beyond people had lost a part of themselves.
Sorry, but your statement is factually incorrect. HRH The Duke of Kent, the late Queen's 1st cousin, was born in 1935 and therefore lived through the entirety of the Second World War. As a senior member of the royal family, he is probably best known as the royal who, until his recent retirement, handed out the Wimbledon championship trophies.
@Duke of Haas sorry i did not see this initially. But when i refer to "immediate" family, i am referring to the parents and children. Cousins were not what i contemplated but i cannot fit the Duke of Kent in the category of mom-dad (husband-wife) and children. I apologize for any misunderstanding.
@@tomawen5916 No need for apology. Perhaps it's a cultural thing, for a lot of folks in the US would include 1st cousins when describing immediate family, particularly when one has a large family. You are a gentleman, and the world needs more folks like you. Ciao!
Even now, it’s still so hard to believe she’s gone. I’m American born, but have long been an Anglophile and a monarchist and have always felt a deep connection to my ancestral land. Since I was a boy, I grew up knowing that Elizabeth II reigned in London, that she was The Queen, and that’s all there was to it. Seventy magnificent years. God grant you rest, Your Majesty. God save The King.
My Heart dropped We all knew it was coming. But when it did. Me and Millions of others were devestated. RIP Dear Lady and HRH Prince Philip. The like we shall never know agian
I also. It's something we knew would come but refused to think about. And I'm a Yank. It still feels like a gut-punch to see these images She was crowned seven weeks before I was born. She has always been there. I just cannot believe she's gone. A Swedish friend of mine said that day, "I thought she was immortal."
I am a Yank as well. One cannot have a figure which is recognized worldwide as a symbol of a certain way of life which sadly is long gone for most people where loss is not felt when they are gone. Many things have changed since the early 1950's and most not for the better. But the Queen was always there. Like a rock; a symbol of decency, kindness, morals and principles rarely seen today.
As sad and inevitable as this was, I feel lucky to have seen her platinum jubilee and seen reign for 70 years. I always a fan of her majesty in her younger days, a ball buster, an absolute legend.
There's an odd emptiness even months on at the loss of her Majesty. She was the hand, the voice, and the image that reached across ocean and continent, uniting people in a way most never will. Whether you knew much about her life or not, it cannot be denied that the profound impact she had on many worldwide will span our lifetimes.
Beautifully done 💜 This loss still makes me cry. She was an incredible lady who helped shape out country and influenced so may around her. You will always be missed your Majesty 💜
I knew when it was reported that Her Majesty wouldn’t be returning from Balmoral. I remember reading a small headline. At that time I stated to my niece, The Queen isn’t returning from Balmoral. This doesn’t sound good. Shortly after she passed. But what a life she had.❤
@justsayin They tried to smooth over the blaringly obvious on the news reports. When I heard the phrase, "resting comfortably", I knew it wasn't good. I knew everything they were saying was code for, "Her Majesty is close to passing away. She has been given medication to ease her pain, and all of her family members are en route to say their last goodbyes." (11/26/2022)
It made sense that the Queen retreated to Balmoral for her final days. That was where her father died, seventy years earlier. The circle had been completed.
I was watching the reports on TV of the Queen's worsening health and suddenly the screen went blank. I said to my wife 'uh-oh, I think we're about to hear the national anthem,' and sure enough we did.

Even as a German it is still unbelievable that THE Queen now is gone. It feels like my own grandmother died. A woman that leaded not only the United Kingdome into a new Era but the whole world. What ever happened we knew that in London there is a symbol of stability. May angles guide her soul into the eternal light of our almighty father and his son, our lord, Jesus Christ. I was at work, in Chicago, when the news of her death broke. As a Brit, I went straight home and was able to be in London and see much of this myself. Standing on Westminster Bridge for the evening silence by Big Ben was surreal, only the second time I have every heard London fall silent. The first being the funeral procession of Princess Diana.
Wow, you saw the funerals of Diana and the Queen. That's amazing. I understand and sympathize as the Queen was a constant in many people's lives. Of all the monarchs I heard about on TV, I realized her reign lasted my entire life up to her passing. She will always be remembered.
As a Yank, I came to the UK in June 2022 for the Jubilee Celebrations. I was 54 years old. It was so wonderful! Everyone was in good spirits. I always admired Her Majesty. She was such a fixture on the world stage for so long, and I joined in with polite mourning when she died.
As an American, when I think of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, words such as, respect, gratitude, humility, grace and, dignity all come to my mind. Truly a gift to be treasured and never forgotten..
The crown still lives on, but the absence of the greatest Queen who ever lived is painfully felt just as much, if not more, now than when her death was announced. Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II took with her not only the reign of an exemplary woman but also a part of our youth and a more joyful time and an era of peace in the world which will never return. That's probably why we miss her so much.
I do believe that she was the last connection we had to the greatest time in human history that was still on the world stage. With her gone, we have moved into the Dark Ages Part II and there's no going back.
Her reign outlasted my grandmothers life. She became Queen in 1952 and reigned until 2022. My grandmother was born in 1954 and d. in 2020. 1952-2022 / 1954-2020. And if that isn’t odd, my grandmother passed away on September 7.
It still doesn't feel real that her Majesty has gone ,I agree with somebody on here that said the show The Crown should come to a end at her Majesty's passing....Its a whole new generation now, which will take some getting used to .
I’m an American with English ancestry. This hit me very hard. Thank you Your Majesty for all you did for so many for so long and God Save King Charles III!!! I’m proud to have the blood of the great people of Great Britain in my blood!

The year she celebrates her platinum jubilee an achievement for her reign and for everyone to celebrate and enjoy is the year she dies. Joy turns to sorrow and sadness as the nation and maybe the world mourns for her.
Very good ending scene if the Crown ever makes it to Season 7 or 8. At 2:40 during the funeral march scene, perhaps you could add in the quotes of Queen Mary to young Queen Elizabeth when she assumed her reign 70 yrs earlier that "Elizabeh Mountbatten is now Elizabeth Regina. The fact is, the Crown must win. Must always win.”
*and now I'm crying all over again!* *Rest easy your majesty. From Canada I say she will be remembered forever* The reactions to the queens death in Ireland and Scotland while understandable are sad
I’m in Québec. The general indifference here at the announcement of the Queen’s death upsetted me. But me, as a loyal and devoted subject of Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II, I was, and still am, sad and I miss her. I do support His Majesty the King Charles III, though, and wish him the best. 🙏
Never before, and perhaps never again, had a monarch wielded so little power of their station yet commanded with such authority and grace that the figurehead was actually the guiding hand, shaping us all with the kind example of humility and genuinity.
I think in modern times the only other example would be TM King George VI and Queen Elizabeth who were great morale-boosters in the Second World War. Queen Victoria was beloved in her later years but was not particularly popular in the earlier part of her reign.
No one can ever replace her, not even him!!! RIP Queen Elizabeth, you will forever be our Queeen, no one else will ever take your place!!!! The music was superb from the show!
I remember standing in a Co-op, buying two pints of milk, when I saw the newsflash on my smartphone. The three teenage shop assistants were gathered around nearby talking and I asked them if they'd just heard too and they all. When I left the shop, I remember everyone in the street outside were all looking at their phones - it was such a strange image. The walk back to my flat - only ten minutes or so from the co-op - felt like the longest walk ever. Such a historical day.
Queen Elizabeth was truly one of the Greats of this country's history, a woman who dedicated her whole life to serve her peoples across the world, true selfless devotion to duty and a steadfast constant in British public life. Her legacy will continue for generations as a stalwart example of duty. May Her Majesty Rest In Peace and Thank You for your service
Passing of an era. I’m a child of the Greatest Generation. She was the embodiment of the mores & memories of their time. With her passing that chapter closes. The few still lingering, I fear, feel very alone.
The unexpected death of a family member in the early hours of September 8, 2022 was devastating. I didn't know that the Queen had died until that afternoon. I've never knew her death would stun me like it did. I still had to carry on... RIP EIIR 🕊
Its one of those things where you remember where you were when you heard the news. Still keep having to remember to say "God Save The King" and "His Majesty" instead of Her. Elizabeth II truly was one of the greatest people to ever walk this earth. RIP Ma'am
She passed 2 days before my own grandmother, I remember the news being on the tv in the hospital room when I visited her in the hospital on the 9th. Even as an American the Queens death had a profound effect, thinking of her as a mother and a grandmother and her family losing her as my family lost ours. She lived such a long, and I’m sure fulfilling life, my she rest in peace.
I'm not a Christian, but Her Majesty was, and all I could think when she passed was "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." I like to think that remark would have pleased her.
As an American descended from Patriots who fought for independence I have no allegiance to the British Crown. However, I respect service, honor, and sacrifice. Queen Elizabeth II was an extraordinary servant of the people of the UK and the Commonwealth of Nations. She sacrificed her whole long life in service of her nation and did it with tireless dedication, dignity, and class. For that she has my respect and my wish that she rests in peace. The People of the UK have my sincerest condolences.
In grade school in Canada we would use crayons to fill in the colors of her crown in a coloring book. Someone below remarks about her being here as if forever. I was born the month before HRH Queen Elisabeth's coronation in 1953. My mother's second name was Elizabeth as is my sister's first. That was a small part of the respect this nation had for her.
I'll never forget where I was when the news broke that HMTQ died. I was at the courthouse (in the lounge area) waiting for traffic court to start when one of the lawyers gasped loudly and said "Oh my god, Queen Elizabeth has died!" You could hear a pin drop in that hallway. It was a shock, even though she was 96 yrs old. She was the only British monarch many of us have ever known...WORLDWIDE! I'm an American, was in an American courthouse and the passing of the Queen made us all pause and pray for her family, her people and for all who respected her 7 decades of service. Rest in Peace, your Majesty...🕊🤍👑
It’s true. I believe no one will ever forget where they were when that announcement of the Queen’s death went public. I was on my lunch break from work here in Florida USA. I wanted to cry, but I felt numb. The Queen’s death signifies that we will never go back to the old world and we’re moving forward to the new world.
I rushed back upstairs to tell Woody and he immediately knew why I was panting so heavily and Woody knew the Queen was dead. Then I told Woody.EXE after meeting him recently, all 4 of us are still in mourning

King Charles lll will have my undivided support as I recognize him as my King now.
Technically, you just lost your U.S. Citizenship because you made "...a declaration to a foreign state" by recognizing King Charles III "...as my King now." Need confirmation? Just read Paragraph 13 of your U.S. Passport. I, too, am a Anglophile, but would never publicly publish a declarative statement such as yours. Although your sentiment is sweet and probably genuine, one must be careful with our written words because they can come back to haunt us in ways probably never intended. Finally, I must challenge your statement that "Everybody on Earth cannot remember a time when her Majesty the Queen Wasn't our Queen." There are millions upon millions of people worldwide who are still quite alive and can recall from their youth the year 1936, the year when Britain had three kings. Best of luck to you.
I'm an American. The Monarchy really doesn't have much of a direct impact on me. That said, I was deeply saddened by the death of the Queen. She was a world leader present throughout my entire life. I never needed to wonder or worry about her. She was an ever-present source of stability and I will forever admire her for that.
Beautiful ending and moving. If anyone made it into heaven would definitely be the Queen, as she was an amazing woman loved by the world. Such a shame what Harry is doing to his family, left unchecked for long and there won’t be anymore Monique.
Harry has done nothing wrong. He has a right to live his life away from the grinder. But Charles has done something wrong. He cheated on Diana and then married his strumpet. And now he has made the strumpet his queen. I will never respect either Charlie or CowMilla.
The queen was my idol. I took so much inspiration from her majesty like never to give up.
She sure was iconic, in the true meaning of the word. RIP Queen Elizabeth

I'm 35 and it's alot for me and many, our nation crying, upset, silent and the country just at stand still for days....... still not used to all this. It's been said she fought bone cancer but no one knew. May she rest in peace.
Hello Cornish Girl -
"Cornwall" jumped out at me,
as my grandmother was a Bolitho.
Sir Edward Bolitho stood guard over the coffin,
serving the Crown for the whole of his life,
and now the King's representative in Cornwall.
I remember how the Queen,
about to cut a cake at the Eden Project,
disliked the cake knife,
and commandeered Edward's sword!
Yes,
may she rest in peace!

RIP Her majesty RIP Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II 🎉
A wicked sense of humour indeed, that could put a smile on any1s face. Fly with the stars.
In We2 she worked in the motor pool in the movie when her car broke down when she was a young Queen she got out pulled up hood got it going. Remember during WW2 she and her family never left London during the bombings. They never ran. She was a Tough mum. But she did love all. I’m not British but she was a legend.
I respect your opinion but, in my opinion, she was symbol of oppression from UK to other countries. I'm glad she had lot of family issues, Karma.
Well done! The grief and the sorrow comes through and the imagery well spliced with the music from The Crown. Instead of the death of his father King George VI, it is now the eldest daughter, Elizabeth. She was the last of the immediate family who lived through the Second World War. God bless you Elizabeth, as well as both your father and mother and your sister, Margaret, who have already passed on.
she has now completed her duty
Do you believe in America possibly instilling a monarchy constitutionally of some sorts? I think it would strengthen us.

There's an odd emptiness even months on at the loss of her Majesty. She was the hand, the voice, and the image that reached across ocean and continent, uniting people in a way most never will.

Here after The Crown Season 6 Finale.
As an American, when I think of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, words such as, respect, gratitude, humility, grace and, dignity all come to my mind. Truly a gift to be treasured and never forgotten..
Her death united not just herniation, but the world, in grief. Just over a year on, and the world still seems different without her steadfast presence
"Thank you, Ma'am, for everything."
Ahh I absolutely love Hans Zimmer and this score was perfect for thwe show! I loved how this was done.
Oh wow, I had no idea he wrote this score. Makes sense because I love it and think it’s very powerful.
This score from The Crown is titled "Duck Shoot" and is composed by Rupert Gregson-Williams. Hans Zimmer composed the title track of the series.
"We will meet again"

Nope, that's too predictable and basic.
Thats is not a very good moment.

In grade school in Canada we would use crayons to fill in the colors of her crown in a coloring book. Someone below remarks about her being here as if forever. I'll never forget where I was when the news broke that HMTQ died. I was at the courthouse (in the lounge area) waiting for traffic court to start when one of the lawyers gasped loudly and said "Oh my god, Queen Elizabeth has died!"
