    Great review. I’m about to ‘downgrade’ my 50k RS4 for one of these. The Audi is numb, and I’ve come to realise ICE cars peaked a few years back. The G80 is objectively a better car but it does nothing for me.

    Can you enjoy the M3 comp on a spirited drive if you don't have experience driving powerful RWD cars? If you keep traction fully on or will it still bite you easily?

    Hi mate just come across your account. Currently got an rs3 but have a soft sport for an f80 m3 and currently thinking I may have to do a swap 😂
    What are they like for reliability and just generally as a car I’ve never had a bmw just wondering if you could share some thoughts.
    Things to look out for best years to look for etc.
    Cheers mate

    Needs sum vids showing the performance of this thing. Does it have a crank hub fix on it? Im looking at get a comp pack m4 but know ill wanna map it...just a bummer its gonna cost 2k to get the crank hub done...

    • @oraclearl_fx
      @oraclearl_fx 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Crankhub failure is totally blown out of proportion, only heavily modified cars are prone to this type of failure, otherwise a stage 1 map shouldn't cause any problems whatsoever

      @oraclearl_fx I wish that was true bit ot simply isn't....its happened on stock cars...although I get where you're coming from. I'm a car designer for jaguar myself and have zero clue how bmw get away with some of the stuff they put out...its a terrible solution n was bound to fail with high torque impulses

      @oraclearl_fx like I said...unfortunately there are documented cases of it happening on stock cars..but glad to hear it hasn't happened to you guys. The use of a friction design on a rotating component relying on the clamping load of a bolt which cud stretch n lose clamp load is terrible...and must have been cost driven and they have since deleted it which speaks volumes. I too love the f type...I actually prefer the previous gen myself to the latest one....and wudnt mind a supercharged awd myself :)

    • @shadowchrome_
      @shadowchrome_ หลายเดือนก่อน

      naw whole reason they killed off the F80 was they didnt fit an GPF to it , hence why you could get the F82 M4 for about a year and a half afterwords but with GPF. or so i remember being told that is

      @ronniep9272 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jamsxr I'm not expecting E class levels of refinement but some better noise insulation would be better. It's still a 4 door saloon and should be moderately practical. An M5 is better in this regard.

    • @jamsxr
      @jamsxr 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ronniep9272 sure, then it becomes heavier. My RS4 is reasonably quiet and comfortable but pretty boring to drive. The M5 is more of a GT, won’t be as fun to drive.

    • @ronniep9272
      @ronniep9272 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jamsxr I don't think 20kg of extra noise insulation would make it much heavier. My disappointment is that these are seen as 'do it all' cars but they're not. That's why even this reviewer said have a 340i as a daily driver and get this M3 for the weekend. You might as well just get a Porsche as a weekend toy. I could tolerate the stiffer ride but that tyre noise would get to me. I like to zone out and just relax in a car when I'm not driving spiritedly and I couldn't do that in this car, I guess that what he means when he said the car 'feels angry all the time', it certainly sounds it. From what I've read the G80 fixes most of this but I'd never get one due to how it looks. It's a shame as it is exhilarating when you're driving it on those country back roads but how often are you going to do that before the novelty wears off?

    • @jamsxr
      @jamsxr 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ronniep9272 the thing is, I found the G80 dull as a road car, it’s objectively better but has lost some of that raw personality. Luckily we have a family car, but I will still use the M3 as an occasional daily - probably covering 5k miles per year. I previously had an FL5 Type R so hoping the interior noise is no worse.
