Solid video mate, looking into getting a 2017-19 F80 competition myself and this has been the most informative video I’ve found so far, really appreciate it!
Thank you for this video, looking to step into a F80 M3 or F82 M4 shortly as my first BMW and your review and information was greatly useful! Very much appreciated! Can't wait to finally own one!
Really great comprehensive review! I’ve had my F82 Competition for 3.5 years and I have loved every minute. Still rock solid and not a single rattle. Great solid chassis but still very comfortable, in my opinion. I’ve done 8 cross country drives from Austin, Texas to Arizona and California and it is a super highway cruiser. Put everything on Efficient / Comfort and average ~ 27-29 mpg which I think is great given the car that it is. Agree in the Silverstone interior. I get soooooo many compliments! Michelin Pilot Sport 4s is the only way to go. Very quiet and the ride performance is very nice even with 20” low profile. Anyway, i totally agree with your opinions and I can’t recommend the BMW F8x enough!
Awesome video! Watched the whole thing. Am looking into getting the M3 in the coming year🥳 Given your driving style, how you finding the rear wheels holding up? Which tyres you running? Thanks! 😬
Thanks! You will not regret it, the cars is amazing to live with. The rear tyres held up pretty well to be fair, I ran Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on the M3 and I wasn't doing many doughnuts or sliding about everywhere, so I didn't have to change them often. With the Pilot Sport 4S, the grip was amazing too and found the car to stick much more to the road in all conditions, even wet.
I didn’t find the ride harsh at all in comfort mode, I’ve done 6 hour drives to Edinburgh and back without stopping and felt fine. When in Sport mode the suspension is extremely firm, you really feel the difference. You can also get aftermarket suspension that helps the ride out if it’s going to be more of a daily with passengers - I was always alone so didn’t mind the ride.
Base exhaust. In my opinion I wouldn’t pay for the M Sport unless it’s already on the car, if you’re looking to upgrade exhaust I’d go aftermarket for sure as they sound so much better.
I had the BMW warranty in the first year. 2nd/3rd year I didn’t bother renewing it due to the price I was quoted, I took care of the car and never had any problems at all up to 60,000 miles+

The best looking BMW and one of the best looking cars in general - in my opinion
Test drove a 17 M3 and my god I’m hooked. Currently looking to buy a low mileage one
Great video I have an M4 Competition and love watching videos about anything M4 don’t care how old it is lol 😂
This is about an M3
Looking to get one and this review has all the information for someone like me, thanks!
Great video! Enjoyed sitting through the whole thing.
Absolute beast of a vehicle. Can't wait to nab me one.

Spot on video mate 👌
Super review..
Good vid... Spot on review on the M3. Only thing is the clunking sound in gearbox. Do you hear this in yours ?
Good video. I enjoyed it as i want one soon. Is the competition worth the exra dosh ?
👍👍👍
I really appreciate your review!! Is it too firm a ride tho ? I had the older E36 saloon. It was my favourite car to date. Very close on getting a f80

Great Video! Thank you! Off to put a deposit down! 🤣
You won’t regret it, absolutely brilliant car 👌
You mention poor ride quality. Do they come with run flats from the factory?
How did Mercedes still able to make a strong engine sound with the C63 AMG while using TTs but BMW can't?
is yours a Black Sapphire Metallic F80?
Yes it is
@@TARAN1 Thanks! I bought a 2016 same color...getting it delivered to me soon
Congrats!! It’s an absolute beast, and my favourite colour!
The thought that someone has been fiddling with it is a major turnoff. I wonder if there is a way to tell if it has ever been mapped?
when you say stock exhaust are you talking about base exhaust or m sport exhaust?

I think m4s are much better and much sportier looking than m3s. M3 four doors looking like an ordinary bmw
Do you run it without a warranty ?

You dont buy an automatic when there is a manual available. Just saying.
Such a wannabe carguy statement.
