I finally got it back riddled with bullet holes. I ordered a used ignition switch from eBay and the guy I ordered it from sent me the entire steering column. I took the ignition switch out and i am now in process of rekeying it to fit my origional FOB@@EeveelutionStorm
I am taking my Soul to the dealer today to have the "Lock Cylinder Protector" installed. It's anyone's guess as to how effective it will be. Anyone out there already had this done?

Thank you for this tutorial, between the theif, the Kia dealer, (stealership) and the lizard non-insurance company, it was going to be a huge out of pocket expense.
Does the ignition body need to be replaced or is it just the switch in this situation? My sonata looks exactly like this and the dealership quoted a new ignition body and switch and I think they’re trying to upsell what I really need fixed

My 2015 was hit last week both passenger side windows busted out & ignition pulled out. My question is all I have is a single key no fob or folding key so all I need to purchase from Kia is the ignition cylinder set? Then worry about the housing later, correct? I’m doing this on my own to save money and having a hard time finding any info but ran across this and it’s big big help! Thank you

3 Spanish kids that broke into my sisters 2017 Kia Soul. We found them with the LoJack app. We followed them to another house that they tried to stash it at. Police would not knock on the home of the theives. Absolutely no help😅. The broken rear window and ignition switch has been all out-of-pocket a month later and we had to move the vehicle to a different spot to keep it from being potentially stolen again. 😢

The Hyundai boys broke into my car last night as well :( switch was pryed open. I was able to put it back on and get car to turn ON but I don’t get it to start. No crank either… any help on what it might be? Thank you
First turn off the alarm by hitting the unlock button on the remote or turn the key into the door lock twice
If that doesn’t fix it remove the ignition and turn it by a Parlier of pliers if that doesn’t work check your battery or starter

They got me yesterday(Hyundai Sonata) I was able to put the ignition back in place all wires are still intact. When putting it back in everything works perfect I just need to put the console back together

So you were able to still fit your key ? I am not able to fit in the same thing. The whole thing destroyed.

Ic you can get it to turn then it need to be on ACC position and use a pick to push the release button on the bottom. If you can’t turn it just brake it until it comes out without damaging the housing . Or just replace the whole thing by taking the top 2 bolts off

after got my car recovered and fixed. i have to use the old fob to unlock the car, then start the car with a separate key blade. i have to carry both old and new key to get the car work. i had to upgrade to a push start system.

It varies but I got mine for around $100
I plugged mine in but it wouldn't turn over. Idk if that's a programing issue or something else was damaged

I'm missing that whole part you installed. I couldn't find that part for a 2017 sante fe sport v4 model .. All i find is the whole ignition assembley which is to much.

They hit me too. What is the name of the part you put that into? The clips on that piece is snapped off but idk what the part is called to look up pricing to fix it.
You have ignition housing , ignition cylinder, tumbler / wafers
does anyone know if the damage done here would cause the battery overnight ? from wires being cut ? the windshield wiper control lever damage ?
In a lot of cases the ignition switch stays on after damage causing the battery to drain. And yes a lot of times those kids end up braking the wiper control lever . Buy the part and replace it your self ( easy ) some will slide out others held by few screws

Kia boys just got me yesterday, my old ignition is still intact I just can’t get it to fit back into the column
Check if the plastic housing is broken, if so it won’t start in place , and will need a replacement. Unless you can pick up the broken parts off the floor and glue it together

@@jasminemickens3144 either you replace it or I have seen some people take the broken housing parts and glueing it back together. And once you install the ignition into the housing zip-ties it
Remember it’s not a moving part plus the plastic cover helps holding it in place
But I recommend replacing the housing

These sons of bitches did the same thing to my car 3 days ago and some of those small parts disappeared, I went to the mechanic yesterday and he said that only the ignition lock cylinder part is 350 dollars, plus there is a labor fee and if I can't find those small parts, it will have to be re-software and this will increase the price. He said it and I don't know what to do now 😢
Buy one from any junk yard with a key and you can install it yourself. Just use the new key

They broke the window on my 06 Chevy and tried to steal it but when I tried to follow this video to replace the key cylinder none of the steps that you say to follow don't work. Nothing on your video shows how to put a broken window back together.
This video is for a Kia not a Chevy . And it’s for ignition cylinder not a window .

@@CarlosRivera-eo5yh Employ the same method the theives did and use a strong screwdriver inside what is left of the ignition lock cylinder and twist hard. There is nothing left to damage at this point. After that, just push in the release button and pull the ignition lock housing out of the column.

Key fob should still work unless the ignition is stuck at the on position or the ignition sensor is damaged . That’s why the fob not working . Replace the ignition and the glass and you should be good to go

Think about this, you're showing everyone how to do you're newfound profession so once everyone stops calling what new profession are you going to go do then?
Real locksmiths don't go around telling everyone how to do their job let alone showing them the security workings.
Must be a recently new locksmith as if you rely on people doing you're job for you then you'll be out of work soon.
