Thanks guys for listening to your viewers. Good to see a commentary and video shots straight from the track!
Cheers Vic!
I like the yellow paint. So many bikes are either black, or just a boring version of their manufacturer's color these days. We need brighter colors to be seen.
Agreed!
I like yellow bikes but the color on this one is too yellow. I chose the silver in the end.
Take that over the R7
Test rode one today! Honestly, it exceeded my expectations as I was a bit skeptical of the twin. I really liked the torque down low instead of needing 10k rpms. It grew on me pretty quick.
That's awesome!
Exhaust and tune, gives you another 10 ft-lb torque. Which is amazing and I'm glad to see how much potential is baked into it.
@@ericrosten2882 so what’s the future of the gsxs750? Do you think it’s the last year for that bike?

Excellent review, Great looking middleweight bike ,agree with comment about riding position as many upright bikes aren’t that comfortable, a well ergonomically designed sports oriented bike can be more comfortable. Reminds me of the old GSXF formula which sold in bucket loads, but with current technology should be a great seller for Suzuki 👍🏻
Well said! Thanks Gary
Great review from someone who knows 👍🍻🏁
Thanks mate.
0-60 time top speed would have been nice
It's no rocket but you are unlikely to highside at a track day
3.4 seconds i believe. Actually beats gsxs until you get to 60 mph, then the 750 blows right past it
Quicker than you think. You just change up sooner. Great torque. Lose you license in 6 seconds. From 70kph you are at park the bike and walking home speeds in a few seconds. That's 160kph where I live. Disqualified on the spot.
I need to buy one 😅
Same lol
Initially wanted the yellow or blue, but the silver is growing on me
Both are stylish, right?!
I have seen all three the yellow would be great with black rims. The blue is fine, but I like the silver one the best.
Really good review. Is the more focused Showa suspension hard on bad public back roads??
I doubt it. The bike is still a street bike first and foremost.
Would love to see a heads up comparison against an sv650.
With so much more CC it surprises me the hp is still so similar to the SV. Watching top speed videos of the gsx8s the top speed seems to be the same aswell as my sv650X
SV maxes out around 75 wheel horsepower and about 47 ft-lb with full system and tuning.
So far the GSX-8S has been making 86-88 wheel horsepower and 62-64 ft-lb on dyno with similar tuning.
@@busboy3232 Out of the box it has more torque and Hp than the SV with torque delivered low. Better suspension. It will beat the SV.
I have a 2003 SV1000s. It makes 123.5 hp at 9000 rpm. It’s quite a jump from both of these bikes and you can definitely feel it. Especially in 3rd gear starting around 4000 rpm. It pulls like a freight train.
@@TheSteveSteele 102 nm of torque will get you moving. The new GSX S1000 will only pass you at the top of the revs and at very high speeds.
Would this bike be good for touring? The new vstrom 800 re is only a few hundred dollars more, wouldn't that bike be better for touring with its bigger gas tank and rear rack coming as standard?
touring go vstrom it is about range and body position this gsx 8r is a sport bike-tourer.. Hope to get one soon..
The vstrom is 40 pounds heavier. Is that due to the larger gas tank and the rear rack?
seems like a POS.
Srad it will never be!
Why always test on track, why is that so important.
Wonderful question, most consumers won't even hit track
@@sagarthapa3765I see it more of a benchmark for testing the bike limits. A track is a very controlled environment, so that makes it a great place to do those test.
A few reasons. One it's good to communicate its capabilities to those who will race the bike. There's also less variability than trying to test the bike on public streets.
@@cyclenews But then these are technically 'street' bikes, are they not?
@@HifeMan But even if a regular person who rides it on the track, would they be good enough to ride it to it's limit? I don't know if it's possible.
I promise you the full Yoshimura system that was fitted on the 8R did not drop 20 pounds. The M4, Arrow, and Akrapovic systems drop about 7 to 7.5 pounds. So far Yoshimura doesn't have anything on their website for consumer market.
Okay thank you!
If it was for race homologation, and presumably still in development by Yoshimura, why would it be on their consumer site?
That accent sounds funny, I wonder if I could replicate it. hehe
Lol!
Why do we not get that yellow colour scheme in the UK?!
Ah bummer!
Well you get everything else. We get dull grey 160cc Honda scooters instead of tmax tech max’s
@@SkankHunt42O fair enough. I don't know what else others are missing out on.
If it's any consolation, the only place I've seen a tmax tech max is online. They don't appear to actually be selling over here due to their high price.
Climate change
You get what you pay for. But S makes the cheap stuff pretty well.
Little thing
Nice lookin bike.
Like you, at six four here, it we be like riding a medevil rack. -_-
Yep, you know how it is!
How tall are you. I'm 6'1"...too tall?
Same height over here
@@cyclenews Thanks much!
81hp.... what's the point
Its enough because you can feel like you are thrashing it unlike my GsXS1000 S where i could never use all of the power on the street other than a 5-10 second blast. So pointless and because it makes less power it will be quicker down a set of twisties.
@@gilleyb1900 They are US$10k or AUD$15k.... As much as a GSXR750 a few years ago
Riding on the road in B road really?????. its 82 bhp ffs nothing is going on catch you out.
Why have they made a sports looking version of the 8s just put high handle bars on it for a commuting style riding position, makes no sense
Some people prefer the looks of fairings and the windshield is a nice difference. If you intend to do more track oriented days or a bit of touring, the 8R makes more sense to the 8S.
Same with mt-07 and R7. It’s the new trend
If you're middle aged and been into motorcycles for a while, it's all these comments that show the age of people around.
@@n300zx931 The R7 has more agressive ergos.
@@wlt3585 Because riding around on an old supersport is really uncomfortable and the power is in the wrong place in the rev range for everyday riding. They don't sell. People want everyday bikes. And the fairing is cool. Also the 8S is a little bit more upright with wider bars. Less comfortable in my view.
Late 90's 600 cc bikes would swallow this. Power and suspension were top notch. What the hell happened ?
They make the GSXR600 for that. This is not really a track bike, it’s a compromised bike made for the street. More upright riding position. Doesn’t need the most horsepower or speed.
This isn't a supersport. They still make GSXRs if you want one, and they are basically perfected
So because Suzuki made a competitor for the RS660, R7, CBR650R, Daytona 660........
You're saying Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, and Suzuki are going to throw away all their 600's and 750's and 1000's? Is that what you're saying? Is a couple of TH-cam videos as far as you're looking into what manufacturers offer in their lineups, or do you ever visit their sites or read magazines?
@@GROGU123 Cos no-one buys them and the competition has everyday sport options. It's what people want. Much cheaper too.
@@paulconnell1309 I think price has alot to do with that. Supersports are too expensive for most people. When sport bikes look just as good and are better for the street anyways.
No worse than that.
Beginner bike totally
Probably a girls bike ride, right
