If I may add my few cents having done the EBC trek this past November... Yak Hotel in Namche had hot showers available without time restrictions... I have purchased in Namche an Everest Link card for $20 and had internet all the way to Gorak Shep... drink lots of water and eat plenty of fiber !! Also, I usually do not use trekking poles ..but boy .... these steps on the trek were brutal... high and hundreds of them :) Have Fun, it was an awesome experience...

Great to hear you had a good old shower in Namche. Thanks for your input.

So do you Rec hiking poles then? I’ve never used them on any of my past hikes. You sound like you didn’t usually use them either. Do you wish you had you had had them on EBC trek? I’ll be there in 6 weeks.

@@patrickmitchell209 I ended up buying the poles in Namche Bazaar for $30 and they did help getting through the steep sections of the trek and the stone staircases.... but yes, otherwise I rarely use them on other hikes...Good Luck!... It also helps to fill out ahead of your trip the Online Visa Application... it saves you time on upon the arrival... let me know if you have any other questions.... Happy to help...

@@patrickmitchell209 Hi Patrick, I did not use poles but was probably the only one who didn't. If you have any knee issues they definitely can take some pressure off, especially downhill. Wishing you all the best on your trek. Send us some pics!
