If I may add my few cents having done the EBC trek this past November... Yak Hotel in Namche had hot showers available without time restrictions... I have purchased in Namche an Everest Link card for $20 and had internet all the way to Gorak Shep... drink lots of water and eat plenty of fiber !! Also, I usually do not use trekking poles ..but boy .... these steps on the trek were brutal... high and hundreds of them :) Have Fun, it was an awesome experience...

The 3 x Rs: Rough, Rustic and [the odd] Roof [over one's head. Great tips.

We were there in late Oct 2014. Major upgrades have happened since and huge a price Uplift too. I remain unconvinced at the need for bigger decks and plunge pools in a location famed for Safaris. Eco & Green Credentials have taken a big hit.

Wonder when this Lookout cafe opened. Never heard of it. Ilala is a fantastic lodge. Wish you showed us the rooms.
