That little pocket, up front, is big enough for my disk lock BTW... and yes, I'm 6'-4'' 250 lbs and the bike is plenty strong. The only issue I have is the rear brake which is a little weak,to my taste. Good review.
Absolutely loved my 1090R. Great power, great suspension, good brakes, comfortable, etc. I traded mine in a few months ago for a Ducati DesertX. I didn't like the 890 Adventure R, but the DesertX hype was real. I do still slightly prefer my 1090R's modded engine and highway comfort though.
I definitely need to ride a desertX and an 890 adventure. I just rode the 1090 on an 8 hour or so trip and the highway comfort is no joke, especially with the comfort seat.
The 1090 has more power, slightly more comfortable and the the added cruise control is incredible. However, the rock solid reliability and simplicity of the tenere 700 make it a very good choice.
I feel the brakes are adequate, rears a bit soft ... my guess is that they are dialed back for offroad, otherwise dudes would be locking up their front ends.

If you’re referring to the pocket next to the headlight it’s only good for some change or other small trinkets. Thank you!
T.t.t today, Junior!!😅😂😅 great vid dude!
Yayyyy the exhaust man 🔥

Best video yet. How does this compare to other adventure bikes? Maybe like a tenere 700

That’s fair. I think the pads on this particular bike may need to be replaced.
I'm debating on buying a 890 adventure R and a 1090 adventure R. but i have yet to find a video of both bikes together.
If I ever get than chance I will do so! However, for what it’s worth I would personally go for the 890.
