Correction: the weight stated in the video is wrong, as the German official CFMoto site got it wrong 😂. It is 175kg dry, so similar to the Royal Enfield Himalayan. The brakes are also not directly from Brembo as it turns out but instead from their spanish sub brand J.Juan. Sorry about that, annoys me to no end that I got that wrong.

A very constructive and unbiased review. I will purchasing one next year myself. I don't care about people's opinions on bikes made in China as they are pretty quick to dismiss how many things they purchase are made in the same country.
CF Moto are going to become major players quickly if the Japanese don't pull their socks up.
Keep up the good work and God bless. 👍🏿

I've had mine in Australia for a few weeks, and have done 1,200kms. Agree regarding the gearing being too short. I fitted a 15-tooth front sprocket (up 1 tooth), and that makes cruising at 110kph (max legal speed in Oz) much more comfortable, dropping by about 500rpm compared to standard, and making the speedo much more accurate. First gear becomes more usable, even off road, as the motor has a very good bottom end and mid range. I think a 16-tooth sprocket would fit if you were going to be doing a lot of freeway/autobahn riding.
For my height (170cm) it's very comfortable on the highway with the screen raised. I can easily reach the ground, unlike on the bigger adv bikes - I'd love a T7, but I just don't fit!
Other cons - from the factory the suspension is way too hard, but is easily softened. The fueling isn't perfect, being a little bit on/off at low speed - hopefully that will be fixed via software update. Yes, cruise control would be very nice, but it's a cable throttle rather than ride-by-wire, so that would require significant hardware update.

People who complain about China made are living in a cognitive bubble,China gives what you pay for. You buy very cheap stuff ,you shouldn't expect something in good quality. Nowadays China for example has less issues with the commercial planes then Boeing, same with BYD cars or Huawei phones..the countrie isn't what it was 20 years ago! Alot of engineers that went to europe and the US,UK to study and have work eperiences are also returning to China since the future in China is much brighter and safer then that of the West. Many Western designers and engineers are going to China aswell,to build a business and progress. The saftey and quality laws in China are rapidly changing with its innovation in lead.

The short gear box is a miss, I already have installed 15t front sprocket. That helps some. The off idle fueling is not good (thx euro whatever). Yes skid plate is paper thin. The exhaust is on a loud side, I guess I am old. If you care for your bike, 10k oil changes is bull shitit. Other than that, for the price or with that low price, it's an awesome side roads adv bike.

@ibol857 JTF656 15RB. The sprocket nut is tightened a lot. I had to go to a shop and borrow an impact gun. Make sure you eliminate as much of the throttle cable slack as possible. This helps with the off idle stumble somewhat.
I ordered my sprocket through the local bike shop.

This bike needs probably both front and rear sprocket change to be useful in Europe. They should have just put longer six gear to solve the problem, I don't understand the idea of having torque fast reving engine and gear rations set up so close to each other just like in sport bike. I bet first gear is not very usable as well.

My only beef with this commentary and "the gap between 300 and 700cc" is that Honda released the CB500X in 2013: this bike was absolutely ignored by international press until Honda, through various iterations, landed on a 19" front wheel to appease the Adventouring folks.
Then, the new XL750 Transalp was released and they had to remarket the smaller sister as NX500 which, strangely enough, looks a lot like this CF450.
Now it seems that the press embargo and stigma about A2 bikes has been lifted and everyone realized that you don't need 250+kg behemots to enjoy an adventure on your own.
Thank god, it was high time.

Honda does have the CB500X in the middle class for travel and adventure. It is right on under 200kg . I think that they are now called the NX500X . So it's an option that is out there. I do admit that the CF MT450 has a place and there is plenty of room for this and many more.

"Xenophobic"?, More than a bit harsh, narrow minded and bigoted, the assumption that an item made in China is likely to be of a lower quality is based on nothing but past experience and has absolutely nothing to do with race/ethnicity, when they can shed to stigma of poor quality merchandise for a long enough period the facts will outweigh the historical memories and the stigma will fade away, just as it happened with Japanese motorcycles and cars
Vilifying and insulting people who form opinions based on historic facts is ignorant and unjustified.
Looks like firms such as CFMoto are doing better than other Chinese brands have done so in the past.
It was not that nobody made mid range DS bikes, it was that when they did nobody wanted them, the demand simply wasn't there in large enough quantity to justify production, from the CCM 404ds and 644ds to the likes of Suzuki DRZ400/DR650 and Kawasaki KLR650 they've been around for a very long time, not enough people wanted them back then.

I have One fear of chinese motorcycles - they evolve very quickly. Two years pass and model is replaced with something else and your bike without replacement parts is basicly useless with near zero resell value in the future.
I have my eye on 450mt for some time now. Thinkin about selling MT07 for it.
Also, I think few year back, there was rumors about KTM releasing duke or some other model with this engine but later it was scraped. Looks like there was some truth into it. Maybe KTM gave this engine to cfmoto as a part of the deal? We will never know.
I think if this bike was made by yamaha and branded as little tenere it would sell even better (they still do becase they are sold out everywhere - people prepurchased everything even without seeing bike in person, let alone test ride). But for some reason yamaha would not make something like this becasue it woul probably cut down salef of standard t7.
