I have this cream in my hair from a twist out I did 6 days ago and my hair is STILL moisturized and defined. I needed something that would work with cooler weather and this is it. I do my twists on wet hair, but then band them and let them dry that way for a shiny, stretched look. I used some of the Melanin oil on my fingers for the take down. Your hair looks amazing!
Tried this on wet hair and i was so disappointed with the results, more so as it was very hard to get it in England at the time. After seeing this, i will give it another shot on dry hair. Thanks
I like this cream, I was excited to get it because to me it's like the Adwao Beauty baomint cream (which will get your hair truly elongated, shiny and moisturized, I loveeee that cream) but more easily accessible in my country. Unfortunately I've used it 2-3 times, tried being light handed and everything but It always gives me product build up so it's just been sitting in my stash for a year.
Sorry to hear that. I would say to make sure that your hair is clarified before using it and then use just a little and see if that helps. If you wash your hair on a weekly basis, you shouldn't get product build up unless you are retwisting and using more of the product throughout the week. Thanks for tuning in and sharing your experience.
@@NaturalRaeRae I meant flakes, english is not my first languages sorry. Yeah i think I'll keep trying with minimal product, the jar is so big though I might end up just giving it to my sister
Your hair turned out great! I just recently repurchased this cream after not using it in a couple years. I used to use it mostly when I just needed moisture for my hair while keeping it in twists, but I think I’m going to try using it for a twist out soon.
Your results looked great! I've used the Melanin cream underneath The Mane Choice Cheers Gelato and it worked beautifully for me - but that was probably 2 years ago now. I have not had those products for a long while so I don't know if it still works on my hair, but I certainly did use to love it.
Hey Rae... your twist out turned out really cute. 🥰 ...Your 3rd day hair looked great too. My first time using that cream wasn't so great ... I used it on wet/damp hair, so maybe I need to give it another try on dry hair.
Thank you so much 🤗 I used it years ago on wet hair it didn't love it, but it definitely worked well this time on dry hair. I am going to give it another go on wet hair and see how it does, but it definitely kept my hair soft and moisturized. Thanks for tuning in.
Your hair is beautiful as usual. I want to try my hand at twist outs again. I just purchased the new Melanin travel set. Basically got it because the containers are reusable and are 3.4 ounces each. I did like the oil which is included. I also loved the shampoo. I am going to revisit the cream as well on stretched hair. I think it will be enough product to let me see if I want larger sizes. The leak proof bag was one of the determining factors.
Thank you! I saw that travel set and thought about buying it for the same reasons you did. Then I remembered all the products I have and said "girl, you don't need that" so I emptied my cart and held back tears.🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for tuning in.
Great results on this twist out! I love Melanin's shampoo and I use the leave-in as a deep conditioner which works really well. I have also tried the Melanin deep conditioner and liked it as well. I do not do twist outs on my hair so I think I will try the cream under a gel for a wash and go. Thanks for the revisit, your hair looked great and held up well. 🥰
Thank you. I've never tried the shampoo, but I know a lot of people like it. I do like the DC but I need to revisit the leave-in. I do remember it was really good for detangling. Let me know how you like the cream under a gel.
😂Rae, I just watched your old video about this product… so glad to see you tried it again (bingeing on your videos lol). I love this product and it keeps my hair looking good for approximately a week. I use it with my NLS leave in. I been using this for my twist. I did purchase the NLS strawberry cream, but I haven’t tried it yet. I think I will continue to use this and NLS Irish cream for now because I know these work😂 thank you for sharing ❤
@@NaturalRaeRae I used it with the banana; I think because it is thicker, but creamy my hair had good moisture. II followed your instructions from a previous video, and I didn’t use too much of the twisting cream and I emulsified it before applying. I have not tried it with the avocado yet. I like the Melanin better instead of the Strawberry (it didn’t work for me when I tried it)… went back to the Melanin. Right now I go between it and the Irish.

It has been a while since I used the twist cream; I have been using mousses more, but I have been thinking about trying it again. I just find it hard to use up because of how much product you get, so I'm eyeing the travel kit. Your hair came out great and reminded me of what I like about the product.
It is a lot of product and you don't need a lot so I'm hoping I can use it up before it starts to turn. I was eyeing that travel kit, as well, but I passed because I have this big tub. I still may get it just to take on trips. Thanks for tuning in.
Before I even start this video, I thought about trying this out again too! I found a jar while I was moving and was like……let’s revisit. Okay, let me watch now lol
Hi Rae! I love your twist out. I love her leave in and honestly love it. It gives me incredible moisture. I ordered her travel kit to try out the twisting cream and I wasn’t a huge fan of the African shampoo when I’ve tried it before but I’ll use it and pair it with her deep conditioner. I wanted to try her oil so I’m looking forward to receiving the travel kit. Well as always enjoyed the video and love your hair ❤
Thank you! I wanted to get that travel kit, too, just to try out the shampoo and have in case I need to take on a trip. But then I thought to myself, girl, you don't need anything else, so I didn't buy it. 😂 Let me know what you think of the cream and oil once you get it. Thanks for tuning in.
😂 I debated but grabbed it anyway lol The shampoo was a little stripping to me but others love it. Camille Rose makes a black castor oil and chebe shampoo which is better in my opinion. I love it actually.
Hi Rae I have never used and Melanin products but always wanted to and I loved how your hair turned out and we could see day 3 hair and it still looked good. I actually blew out my hair using my TYMO and did a twist out on stretched hair as well using the Kinky Tresses hair butter and it is going to be trial and error. One side I did the twist to small and the other side and back to big as it was less definition but fluffy twist but I had to retwist after just taking them down this morning because I would be wearing basically a blow out in the morning if I didn’t. I love the way twist outs look but I just haven’t gotten mine to look like I want them too but I won’t stop 🛑. Next weekend will be a wng using the diffuser. Wish me good luck 🍀 as I haven’t used a diffuser in over a year. With my fine hair I need to find the right amount of hair per twist for volume and definition and I may have not used enough product as I did not want it to revert so I could enjoy a week of my hair being stretched.
It is trial and error finding just the right size twists you need to get the look you want. I know you'll figure it out. Let me know how diffusing goes for you; I don't like it much but it does cut down on drying time. Thanks for tuning in.
Hi Rae I tried the TYMO diffuser this weekend and loved how fast it dried. I started on 140 but with my fine and low to medium density it was burning my scalp 😅 so I stopped putting on my hair and used like a blowdryer but still using the diffuser and eventually I turned it down on 80 and it took less than 25 minutes total to fully dry and I loved that it was defined and fluffy on day one. I had to go out the same day as my wng and the next day too and it rained for both days 😢 but it still looks good. So it was and is worth my coins. 🤗
Thank you! No, I probably won't make a trimming video because 1) I already have one on my channel that shows me trimming using a tutorial from a licensed professional because I am not a professional, and 2) I am not a professional so I don't want to show someone how to trim when I may not be doing it correctly. If I mess up my hair, that's ok because it's mine, but I don't want someone to follow my technique and they don't get good results and then blame me. Please go to a professional for trims. I do not color my hair. I have used temporary color gel, which is also on my channel, but I do not use semi-permanent or permanent color on my hair. I hope this answers your questions. Thanks for the questions and for watching💛
@@NaturalRaeRae girl i already do. when i was building my house, my husband built me a space for my products so u know what that means lolol. I am better now though. I am buying my favs mostly and a few new to me here and there.

At first, I didn't like using it on fresh, washed wet hair. It did better on stretched dry hair. I had a jar or 2 sitting for a long while because I couldn't figure out what was the best method for the product to take to my hair.
I really want to like Melanin Hair Care soo much but her products just don't work for my thick high porosity 4C hair. The shampoo wasn't either clarifying or cleansing, the leave-in was too fast absorbing and dried my hair out, and while I'd like to try the twisting cream, with 2 strikes already, I'm just not willing to spend any more money on a product that I'll just return lol.
I didn't care for it on first use either when it first came out, but then I tweaked the way I use it and this time it was amazing! Thanks for sharing and for tuning in.
