Hey SunRaes! It seems I have confused a lot of you regarding the shower cap. Let me clarify...because I was showing you outside the shower how I refresh, I put my shower cap on just to clean my face and not get my bonnet wet. Normally, I don't wear a shower cap in the shower because I want the steam to help fluff my curls. If I had done it that way and then come on camera, you would not have seen what my hair looks like right from the scarf or the puffs. I only wear a shower cap in the shower with a twist out or to wash my face, then I take it off. I think I explain this in the video but, in case it wasn't clear, I hope this clears things up.
I love how detailed you are displaying how to preserve a crunchy vs fluffy wash and go! There definitely needs to be two different techniques depending on how dense your hair is. Thank you for your time and effort! 💐
Thank you. Exactly, this is what works for my thick hair. If you have fine, hair and longer hair, a pineapple may work better. If you have shorter hair, then just putting on a bonnet at night might work. It just depends on everyone's hair and what they are going for. Thanks for tuning in.
Good morning what's the difference between a creamy wash-and-go and the gel wash and go because the roots and stuff be so hard what should I use to make a soft washing I want a fluffy not hard instant
I use the TGIN Rose Water curl refresher to moisturize my wash and gos and I love it 🥰 It’s not sticky and it doesn’t cause any frizz. I can make my wash and gos last up to 10 days if I have a busy week at work, all I do is wear a bonnet to bed, moisturize and fluff in the morning and I’m ready to go 💃🏾
I wish I could keep a wash and go for 10 days. My hair would be so tangled, but good for you. You must have a special kind of hair.😉 Thanks for sharing your tip on the TGIN, it may be useful to someone in the comments.
I put on the bonnet to wash my face, then I usually take it off. This time I didn't because I wasn't using the steam to fluff because I had to come show you guys. Usually if I'm not filming it, I would have my hair out soaking up the steam and moisturizer.
New here and really enjoying your content, however I found this one very confusing. Im wondering if you can do another refresh video. I really need it. Just did a chop and I'm totally lost especially on refreshing. I end up soaking it down the very next day after washing. Thanks so much. So glad I found your channel.
Hi, glad you are enjoying the content. If you did a big chop and have a twa (teenie, weenie afro) your refreshing will probably look different than mine. My hair is longer so this was showing what I do now with longer hair. When I had a twa, I did refresh with water or a refresher spray to plump my curls and add some moisture. Hope this helps.
@@NaturalRaeRae Ohhh, I so very much appreciate your quick reply. You're the best. Yes, this helps a lot. I have been binge watching your videos today and was wondering what a twa is...so great to get the answer even before I asked. Yes, I'm starting to get it, the more I watch your videos. It's so hard to have this short hair. I don't know what to do with it. I find myself not wanting to go out anymore but still so happy I am natural. NO REGRETS. Thank you again and again..
Ooo Chile. I am getting hot watching this. 🤣🤣 I am going through menopause. I have night sweats at least three times per night, from my HEAD. I can’t wear anything on my head at night. I have to rely on putting my hair in some kind of bonding order (twists) and sleep on a satin pillow case. I had to stop listening to all the people talking about too much manipulation. If I wear my hair loose to bed, I pay dearly the next day. Great video.
Hi I am fairly new to your channel. Love your content so far. I watched a vlog and saw that you live in Indiana aa do I. I just stared doing successful wash and go's. Do you do wash and go's year round? How do your products change in Fall/Winter in the cold weather? I live near Chicago
Hey K_Bcurly! Indiana in the house! I do wash and go year round; however, this past year, I did try to do more twist outs during the colder months. In fall/winter, I use cowash more often, I use creams under my gels in addition to leave-ins. I definitely use a hooded dryer; I don't air dry. I try to use products with glycerin lower down on the ingredients list. Hope this helps.
Thanks! It does help! Okay...I'm trying to be prepared for the weather change. Arthritis in my hands are preventing me from braiding my hair for braidouts. But I love wash and go's now too!! Love your channel and thanks again!
Thank you for this very detailed great video. Is there a particular type of shower cap you use ? One that allows the steam in but does not get your hair wet.
Thanks for watching! I must not have made things clear in my video about the shower cap, so I have pinned a comment to clarify. Please take a look at that when you get a chance, I think it will clarify things.
Love all the details. One question, do you feel doing wash and go's more often reduces single strand knots? I like wash and go's better than twist outs for my hair, but my hair is fine and tangles easily.
I find that people with fine hair say they struggle with single strand knots more than I do. My hair is thick, so I don't suffer with them a whole lot. I do get them, just not a lot. I also think that if you shingle your hair, because you are separating the curls, you will probably experience more knots. That is why I like my hair clumped better than shingled. When I shingle or use products that give me the shingled look (i.e. UFD, kinky curly, curl maker, etc.) I tend to have more tangles and knots in my hair on wash day. So my recommendation is, if you have fine hair, I would do my hair more often. I would not try to stretch my hair for 7 days. I would also try to use products that clump my curls and I would definitely concentrate on protecting my ends (i.e. coat with oil, gel, keeping them moisturized, etc.) These are just my opinions, they are not written in stone, but they do work for me. I hope this helps.

I use silk scunchees. They don't leave a tight ring when I take my hair down.
I put my hair in four puff balls every night and refresh my hair with warm water in a spray bottle every morning.
Love that! Thanks for sharing; your tip may help someone.

Thanks for your great tips Rae!
