You didn’t let us down at all! It’s really helpful to know that there are so many butters that work so well. I guess it’s a matter of personal preference. I already have the Almond Jai and the Twist and Shout cream, so I won’t be running out to purchase Melanin Haircare until I use up the products I have.

Very true because I used one of my favorite leave-in under melanin and didn't feel good together. We'll see on my next favorite.

This was very interesting for me because I never tried any of these products. So, useful video, for sure.
I'm not really surprised by the results because products we like for our hair tend to perform very similarly when they have the same purpose. I think the real question is: how do they perform after a week and even more time. Sometimes, it's in the long run that we realize some products are actually much better, because of moisture, definition, build up, flaking when combine with certain products, strength (if you have fine hair strands like me, it's very important), etc...
They really work like one butter for real but I wanna see photos of day 3 or 4. But they both are A+ for me.😊

This was a great review because it shows that we have four very good options to choose from. For me, the deciding factor would be which one gives the best wash n go because that's my go-to style. My hair doesn't look a lot different with a wash n go than it does with a twist out so no point in going through all the trouble.

Mellanin is a win for me, not because of the definition, I have other products that do that well. It wins because of the way it makes my hair feel, the way it seals and protects my ends so well, the lightweight, buildable formula, and the price for the amount of product.
I have and use, Blueberry Bliss, Almond Jai twisting butter, Mielle Organics Twisting Souffle. I love all of these products. So far, I just like Mellanin better on my hair. My strands are fine and this just feels better overall for me.Great, honest review!! Thank you🤩!

I think using the thicker leave in all over made a difference using the Melanin product this time. If you didn’t say anything i would think u used the same product all over. Super cute

It’s not a bad video! This just means that we have four good brands to rock twist outs and braid outs with! And the leave in must also be bomb. I think this video is a win. Imma try Kinky Tresses because I’ve never heard of them before. I’ve tried the Camille Rose and Curls and I LOVE the Melanin Haircare cream. I’m gonna pick up the oil next.
From what I can see, Kinky Tresses had the softest hold out of all the butters. It was the only side that looked less defined when you took the twists out. It almost reminds me of Alikay's Shea Yogurt Moisturizer . In my hair it is very softening, and stretches my hair incredibly well, but when I take my twists out the next day they have little definition. I'm going to do my hair in smaller sections and keep them in longer to see if that makes a difference.
Yes I feel you! I love the Shea yogurt, moisture for dayssss, but the definition definitely isn’t 100% there.
Wow! I thought it was just me! In comparison to my beloved Camille Rose Almond Jai, the Alikay Shea Yogurt couldn't compare! It was moisturizing and stretching but the definition lacked! I wonder if it was the shea butter or coconut oil because Cantu did the same thing to me? 😣🤔
@@TheeFlyGirlTee I think you're right about the coconut oil, or some type of oil in the product that makes it so the butter gives zero defenition. I've used shea butter by itself and it gave me great defenition, so I was a bit confused when this product didn't really do anything for me. It was also a little drying for me, but I'm going to continue to play around with it and try to make it work for me. If anything, I'll probably just use it to moisturize my twists and braids instead of using it as a styler for twist and braid-outs.
I did pair it with the lemongrass leave-in, but maybe a different leave-in would work better...
Sis, we don’t hate you! I’m actually glad you were “wrong” because it means that Whitney and her team made a quality product! I honestly thought that Melanin took this. From your words and from what I saw, it seemed to be the product that’s probably gonna hold your twists for longer! The Kinky Tresses seemed to be the least “defined” but probably because it was super moisturizing! Great comparison, love!! ❤️
Yes! Can’t wait to see you use the Wet Line. I’ve been thinking about buying it (the clear one), but just haven’t pulled the trigger yet. I would love to see you use the Melanin cream with the Wet Line gel.
I love that you did this video. Because sometimes opinions change. And it's nice to see that you came back and said hey this does work for me. I think that's why First Impression videos are nice but we need follow up videos too. Bc sometimes I feel like TH-camrs will do a first impression video raving about a product but you never see it again. Hey! Omg, as usual, your video delivered! I have the Camille Rose, Kinky Tresses, and Melanin Haircare creams. For my hair, it's definitely a tie between Kinky Tresses and Camille Rose. Melanin Haircare is very moisturizing but I didn't get as much definition. However, I will revisit it. Maybe I'll even try the Blueberry Bliss cream. Can you tell I'm a product junkie🤔? I'm in recovery though, I promise!
I think some folks for whatever reason want to give Melanin hair care more credit than what it deserves. I saw that clearly the Blueberry and Camille Rose side was shinier and had more definition. She seemed to be creating frizz during the take down. I usually see take downs that are a lot more careful- but very informative. I want to try these now

I hated the curls blueberry bliss I gave it away after one use. I'm about to go get my melanin hair care from my mailbox right nah. Almond jai is my favorite! Or the mane choice curl sealer/and egyptian line gel mix.
This was a great video regardless.. you dont have to say which is better because now we know what's the top compared to another in the line .. now, I can reach for any & know I will get great definition, moisture & volume 💛

Karierenee I don’t think they did. I think they just changed the packaging for a lot of their products. But they took “Love” out of the ingredients, which I’m a bit salty about 🙄
No they just made the name shorter for marketing purposes. Mielle did the same thing.

Good comparison! I find the Kinky Tresses gives me less definition, but the moisture is insane. Melanin gives me the best definition as well. Camille Rose gives the next best definition. Actually, your technique maybe the reason your hair looks so uniform. Great video
This was so cool ! But I definitely think melanin is more fluffy and elongated to me actually but they all give you shine and definition
The side with the melanin hair care top and bottom seems to be more elongated and fluffy which is what I like. The side with the blueberry cream top and bottom has less volume but it's a good Snapback so it seems like it has a better hold.
They look the same how the camelle rose part look really nice..😍

my hair felt a little dry with the blueberry bliss. kinky tresses and Camille rose gave me great definition but the camille rose isnt the most moisturizing but has more hold

I am so happy to see someone with hair LIKE MINE! YT can be very annoying it seems that EVERY VIDEO is about someone with a million hairs on their head super long and curly and I tire of it. It like a cookie cutter thing.

Great video. I'm waiting for my Melanin. I have the Camille Rose and Kinky Tresses which I LOVE!! I gotta try the Blueberry Bliss.
Come back on day 3 and give a report. I 've used the almond jai and blueberry bliss. For me they were okay. The tresses was more fluffy. Melanin will be my next one. The Wetline is a great gel, and any leave in will work with your wash and go or twists.
I think this video shows that mastering the technique is more effective than product choice.
We learned that we have options. 🙂
But which one will hold up the longest.🤔 I used the Camille Rise Moisturize Milk along with the Wetline Xtreme gel. Curls Sha-popping.

Great job on an objective comparison of various styling creams. It would be nice if you do your entire head with each cream on separate wash days and do a side by side comparison. That would remove the variable of a difference in texture in the different sections of your hair. This means any difference we observe would more likely be that of the creams and not any differences in texture. Great vid.
Thanks for the comparisons. Your hair looks beautiful. It's nice to have options! I love blueberry bliss especially during the summer. Almond jai does not work for me but I love Curl Love. That gives me definition + moisture + hold. So does the Mielle twisting souffle + leave in combo.

I watched this video before but I came back to watch it again because I just got the Kinky Tresses butter and it was really good except for the scent but I ran out of the Camille Rose AJ so I couldn't compare the two and yes LOL 🤣, you were no help! 🤣.
You didn’t let us down. The results speaks for themselves. Like you said, if I didn’t know you used four different hair products, I would’ve thought it was just one product throughout. All of them looks great so I guess it just boils down to personal preference and what you feel your hair takes better to. Great video as per usual.

The way you were separating the Blueberry Bliss told me its a no!! 😩😂 Whitney’s Melanin Hair Care had great definition and so did the Kinky TressesButter but it had a little more frizz but I’m thinking thats because you said it was on the softer side. Don’t get me wrong they all look good but it looked like you had to work just a tiny bit more for the Blueberry Bliss. The Camille Rose looks more elongated than the other front (Kinky Tresses?) I think the order can be Melanin Hair Care or Camille Rose for the top.
What is happening on your head is that you are good at picking products. The entire head looks beautiful. Really it all comes down feel. We also learned that we are being blessed with more and more amazing hair options.

I hate twisting creams on my hair. It just makes my hair puff up and does nothing with definition without any gel added to it. Me personally I just use a leave in, some Shea butter, and then allow a gel. The shine be POPPIN, the hold is on POINT, and it lasts much longer for me when I do that method.

melanin lover not really. The point of gel is for hold!!! It doesn’t dry out the hair if you moisture it before applying gel. Which is what I do. I pretty use a leave in, followed by Shea butter, and I just gel on the ends of my hair before twisting it

I think your hair looks good with all 4 twist out cream. I want to tried the blueberry twist out cream and melanin twist out cream I also have 4b/4c hair type and I like to used products with moisture in them. Thanks for the video.
My take on it is having been natural for the better part of ten years, most products are pretty much similar, it just depends on how well they mesh with products out of their line (and sometimes in their line). I’ve only noticed a difference in specialized products, specifically those for low porosity since that’s what I am (ie. Shea Moistures low porosity line).

It looks gorgeous all over lol. My twistouts were always trash until i finally tried blueberry bliss in December. I was shocked af lol. Creams work better for my twistouts than gels but they don't last longer than a day or 2, idk why.

I'm tryna simplify my products down to one set (shampoo, deep conditioner, leave in, styler) for each season... Then I can stop decluttering my hair products and just use one. Currently, I'm using the full Melanin line for post washing. Haven't tried a wash n go or twist out yet though...
I don't think it's a bad video at all. This is great for people on the hunt for butters/creams that are either moisture rich or have good hold or both. And then when you add cost per volume of products to the conversation it will help people decide what to spend their coins on. Do a comparison of your favourite gels or mouses on a twist out or braid or wash and go next. Because Melanin haircare is new I would prefer to see it used as the base product underneath. Also can you come back each day for 4-5 days, to let us know how each section of your hair is holding up in terms or both moisture and definition? That can also help us know which product long term is more bang for our bucks.
