There is no such "Require sign-in" section on the Sign-In Options page. The only thing in that realm is the Additional Settings section which has a light-grey (as in non-interactable) bunch of text, with an on-off toggle (also non-interactable), which says "For improved security, only allow Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts on this device. The toggle is set to the On position. Any way around that? As for the other part of your video, there is no "Users must enter a user name...." box on once I open the netplwiz app. Why aren't either of the two things available?

    Good job, Thanks!
This is a good example of Windows policy to give you sign in options that don't work. After 20 plus years of Window, I finally got rid of this operation system for MX Linux that took me one week to learn, and after using Linux for over two years, I only had one crash, and after a restart it starter right up like new. The best thing about this system is that it's free, and I own it, and nobody tells me what I can or cannot install or remove.
I have installed several printers and other hardware and software, without any drivers, and without the headaches and confusion that Window offers: like please wait, could not fix, thank you for your patience, etc.... I only work on Windows when somebody needs help with what took years for me to learn and I am amazed how deceitful and ambiguous all the Windows system have been and still are.

I had the exact same issue and it was extremely frustrating. However the box disappears if you have you use you're PIN instead of password to login by default. To fix 1. Restart you're computer. 2. When it prompts you to login under the option that says "sign in options" select "use a username and password." 3. Login 4. follow the steps in the video and the box should appear. Best of luck! I know you can do this!

The first steps are straight forward, follow them to the T.
Second step for those as lost as I was,
On user, delete the name that’s there, put in the email associated with you. Put in your email’s password. It’ll ask you to restart. Do so. If your still locked out don’t sign in. Shut the PC down. Turn it on. And you should be in with no password.

Thanks Nick Curro! I was panicking because I got locked out of my PC. This video was helpful, but GaugingGadgets: you could've made that step clearer and dumbed it down for an idiot like myself. Thanks again to both of you!

I went through a recent update and now the MS Hello is a part of the login process and requiring me to set that up in order to follow these steps. I want to turn off the password login so it doesn't take millenia for my PC to boot up. Is there a way to do this while bypassing the Hello setup?

for me after I did the steps I didn't have the checkbox so I just clicked on "password" in the sign in options menu and then change and I left the new password without typing anything and it worked.

Hey just saw this, does this work if I have a Microsoft account signed into my Windows 10 device? If so, what would the username be then? My name that shows up on start up or the email?
