Hi John, that was quick! It took me forever and I'm still not satisfied. But today, thank God, I was able to shave with my problem child, I've finally got a solid blade. Yes, after so many good videos from you, Eric, Sean, Robert and Joshua and all the others, it had to work at some point. Have a great Sunday!
Excellent one stone hone! The Coticule has to be the most versatile stone out there. I’ve really come to appreciate mine over the past year. I haven’t tried a one stone hone yet, but I plan to soon. Great video.
Wow that was a quick honing seccion JPO! The more I do dilucote the better I get at reading the signs and feel and the faster it becomes, it's to the point it feels faster than a synthetic progression, just diluting and putting in the reps. Cheers this was awesome and it wasn't even an 8x3, imagine how fast it would be with a full bench stone!
@@seanstapelfeld These coticules are just so fun to use. Once you learn how to use them and read the feedback no other stones come close. I have a bench sized La Dressante. You can really get allot done quite fast.
John, you and Eric make it look so easy! Great 1 stone hone video!! I’ve learned a ton of stuff watching you guys! Now I just need to improve my technique and get used to using one hand! Thank you for sharing my friend!!
@@RobertPascale Good to hear that someone is getting something out of this. I am not that good at explaining what I do. I just like to jump on and go for it:) people can always ask questions in the comments.
@ well, I guess the good thing about that luckily, for me is that I learn by watching sometimes better than I learn by having it explained to me. I just pay attention to the steps and watch the technique and the order of things.. then I put it to practice and see if I can mimic what I saw. Sometimes it takes a few tries, but it usually doesn’t take me long to get it sorted out if I don’t nail it right away 😉👍🏼
Hi JPO. Glad you posted another video today. Another nice one stone hone. I noticed a lot of people like these la veinette stones on the forums. Have a good evening
@@Eric_TheCajunBlade You just have to put on your tin foil hat, find a way to prep the surface, and come up with a secret stroke that gets the genie out of the stone;) Maybe i don't know anything about how to use these. Maybe the stickycot is what all the cool kids are using today? I like to play in the mud.
NO, it's the wool slippers! You need to keep your feet warm:). You also need some angle dust and snake oil in your water. A tin foil hat also helps. This also helps when you shave. So, this is a challenge Bill:)
@ the tin foil hat, angle dust and snake oil challenge….🤔 In the interest of science, I did buy one of the over priced Gammanite XXX Barber hones from the New York fire hose hustler. It is actually advertised in the description at his Etsy store to contain “Unicorn Grease, Unobtainium and Vampire Feathers” 🤣. I shaped it and made a video on it called the “SuperCurve Cookie Hone”. In my opinion it actually has a uniquely promising concept, but fails in the category of particle distribution from the home NY kitchen manufacturing process. I still have it and occasionally use it. Hmm…Tin Foil Hat, Angle Dust and Snake Oil Challenge, possible U-Toob content in the pipes.
It has been really nice watching you honing videos John.
Thank you for sharing them.
Take care.

@@borbelyhaz321 They are really nice in my opinion. This particular one is quite soft, but still able to produce a good edge.
Wait, hold up. I was just told that it takes a long time to hone a coticule. I am so confused. 😂

I meant to say particle ‘dispersion’…something I learned from my days in inks and coatings.
