    This is awesome! I always wondered how you shaped your stones without buying a shaped plate with the dimensions already in place.

    Nice, I assume the stone you shaped was the mystery stone you figured out was also a WOA. I hope you like the edge, they one of my favorite finishing stones. Man I like your plate, a brilliant idea.

      @@Eric_TheCajunBlade Hi Eric. Yes, this was the mystery stone i shaped. It feels identical to the WOA. It's a little harder.
      I just shaved with the edge. This stone is a keeper. Great edge. Hope you enjoy your new WOA stone.

    So I take it you had your plate manufactured. That is quite the setup.
    Thank you for sharing.

      @@nonamebear1136 No, this is a cheap circular China plate. A circular plate will bend different then a square plate. The four support bolts are adjustable. This gives you an adjustable diamond lapping plate. 3-5 minutes is all it takes to shape a stone off this size.
      You don't need an expensive cnc machined plate...

    Hi JPO - great video! I’m interested in how you made your plate. Did you mill a cylindrical section on steel?

      @@greggallant5058 Hi. This was just two diamond coated plates from China. The plate is adjustable in two directions. There is a magnet in the middle.

      @ So, the plates are toroid sections like Jarrod’s?

      @@greggallant5058 Yes. However, i can adjust the shape with the four bolts while the centre is pinned.

      @@jpo31 How are the radii for the plates chosen? Was this something that you specified?

    • @jpo31
      @jpo31  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @greggallant5058 The radius is 150 mm. This is not a bespoke item. It was just the largest plate size they had in stock. They cost around 30 usd each delivered. So, really not a big investment;)

    Hi JPO. Is this the Jarrod plate that you used to shape this black stone?

      @@borbelyhaz321 No, this was something I made myself.
