I sure don’t miss those days. Dad and I had eight 860 Masseys once upon a time. If something broke, we got another machine or robbed a part to fix the one we were using. We went from that to 9860 Deere now we have an s690. 9860 burnt to the ground last wheat harvest. I understand your struggles of making old junk work. We done it for years. Keep the videos coming I look forward to them every Friday. Thanks JT

Hope you have a safe and prosperous harvest. I started out farming soybeans in the early eighties when they were around 4-5 dollars per bushel. I actually started out with a 69 model Massey 1100 and couple years later upgraded to a 1135 which I still own. I started out with a JD 45 round back and stepped up to a IH 615 in 1987. I was 14 when I planted my first crop in 1983. Watching your videos brings back memories. Great content!

The old saying is true with these combines, Brake one belt replace them all on that side cause its a lot easer to do. I have a JD 4400 and broke the cylinder drive belt and once I got into it I figured out real quick that they all needed changed so I spent the next week changing all the belts on both sides and I'm really glad I did it that way. Still had to have help getting everything back together under the seat and I did manage to get the pump off and made sure to anti-seize it before it went back together ! I'm a new subscriber and I feel your pain. I'm an old farmboy who grew up on a 2500 acre farm into the 80's. We ran two 510's so if this happened we had a backup. One of those caught fire and we were down to one. We then got a 750, (see the Massey Ferguson loyalty) When the 750 got tired we bought a new M Gleaner. That was in 1981, back then having those digital screens was just amazing to me! Things have come a long since then. I love the way you keep the old iron running! With care and maintenance the machines built then can run and do a good job. Your videos remind me of some of the struggles we went through farming, hard times, sure. I wouldn't trade those memories for anything! Thanks!!

I start to sweat thinking about changing the drive belts out on my 7720. Usually it wipes out the electrical for the electromagnetic clutch at the same time for fun. Looks like you have more room to change it. I’ve got to think skinny and there’s no room for two of us to think skinny. I’ve done that three belt one under the seat a couple times too. It’s not fun either. Lol.

    • @chadtosh6831
