Ran a 9500 Corn Special for 16 years. Bought a 700hr S680 and I can confim...they are the same combine up to 140bu...cab comforts mean you're not tired by 9pm...but a well adjusted 9600 with the optional corn fan screens and bottom sieve wide open and slowed down fan and larger rear tires to make the corn go uphill, can really fly with an 8 row. Only 2 mph slower than an S680 in 200bu corn with the same header.
Glad to see yall back!! There was a guy around us ran a 9410 with duals and a 8 row back several years ago. Was a neat looking machine, use to be quite a bit of conola raised here in northern tenn and southern ky, now volunteer canola is just a weed problem around here
Great video Guys ! Hopefully Y’all didn’t have any major issues from the storm in your area. Prayers for the all the folks in Tennessee and North Carolina dealing with the flooding.
Welcome back y’all, thought maybe they put y’all in the witness protection program 😂good to see ya. That 8 row is gonna speed things up a little 👍🏻take care fellers🇺🇸
Glad to see you back. And glad to hear the corn is good. I haven’t ever planted 4930 lowest I seem to go is to 5115. But 5370 and 5678 are still my favorites. 5497 sure looks good though.
4930 was our best hybrid this year and been in the top the past 2. We tried two new ones this year. 5893 and 5682. We will plant them both again next year. 5678 was off a little this year on us, but was positioned on the best ground.
@@DylanJoyceFarms interested to hear your thoughts on 5893 and 5682. Have 5682 in some plots, one it looks like it will be dead last and another it was within 1/2bu of DKC 68-35. Overall trend with it here is going to be awesome I think. But have seen 5370 average 260/ac this year on 40 acres. Gotta love performance like that out of an older hybrid.
@samtalley791 From what I have seen out of the two, it looks like they need to be placed on your better ground. I didn't see any 5682 on stress type ground, but 5893 fell off when it dealt with stress.
Yall were talking about where you set your combine for corn. I have a 9400 2nd year what are your settings for beans. Last year my sample never got to where i wanted it. Yours seems really good. Anything helps. Thanks
I always run the concave tight and the cylinder speed 500+ in soybeans. The settings they recommend in the book are terrible. I sometimes crack the precleaner just enough for soybeans to fall through. That gives it some more capacity. That is those combines biggest weakness is getting green stemmed soybeans and pods to thresh.
Man it sure is good to see y'all back making videos!! I know it gets old at times, but love following along!! That big 4wd would be sweet on the grain cart😉 That header REALLY looks good on the combine, sounds like it had done well!! Mannyeah 230-240 bpa, that is amazing!!!! Hope it continued similar for you guys, cant wait to see!! Canola🤔🤔 I am looking FWD to hearing more about this!! So this was the hay field, you and Dad swapped around? Man it sure did produce well!! Thank you for bringing us along, glad to see the progreee3, amd look fwd to seeing what's next!! 🚜🚜🌽🌽🌽🌽🇺🇲🇺🇲
Yep, we have the old hay field producing what it should now in its second year. I think the chisel plow did wonders for it. I'm looking forward to showing yall the canola adventure.
Hey Dylan glad to see you back. Did I understand you right when you said you runn the serve wide open? I have a 9400 combine also and I’m new to setting a combine. Would you please send me what your corn and soybean settings are. Thanks in advance.
Yes I do run the bottom sieve wide open and use the top chaffer to clean up the sample. It greatly increases the capacity of the combine. I run my cylinder speed at 300 on corn and start with my concave around 5 or 6 and adjust from there.
I was almost ready to come down and start looking for you guys😢😢😂. Can’t you actually put a PTO on the big eight wheeler???? That 94 will be OK on that eighth row just hang some weights on the back axle. THANKS MEN !!!
I'm glad somebody was worried about us. Yes you can still get a brand new pto for them even today. They are nearly half of what I gave for the tractor though lol. Maybe we can run across one at a salvage yard someday.

The simplicity of your life is something I really admire
Not quite as simple as it looks on camera.
Glad the corn is good for you guys! Like that 8 row head with the poly!

I was getting worried about the Joyce Brothers farm. I asked Matt and he said everybody was ok. Hopefully harvest will be smooth.
We're still here. I have just been busy on the farm and taking a break from social media.
Glad the corn is yielding good and glad you took us along.....

I bet that was a sharp looking rig. Hopefully volunteer canola won't become a problem for us.
Good video good to have yall back
I had gotten spoiled to the two videos a week. Gave me something to look forward to watching. Glad yall are good. Be careful
I'm hoping to get back on schedule. I just needed a break.
Glad to have back!
That 8 row looks great. 9400 seems to handle it very will
Wondering when you guys were going to put out a harvesting video. Glad it’s going good!
Great video Guys ! Hopefully Y’all didn’t have any major issues from the storm in your area. Prayers for the all the folks in Tennessee and North Carolina dealing with the flooding.
We had 3 inches of rain but the bad devastation was over on the other side of the state.
yea good to see you guys again , wondered what happen
If you are going to keep big bad John put pto on him you will love it you can do the work
Man I was starting to think y’all left us hanging one of favorite TH-cam channels that I like watching welcome back
Thank you sir!
i have the spiral taps and really like them, but up here in southern indiana have ran some corn but then the rain hit like 2 solid days of rain
Let’s go started harvest the last few weeks here and there have on field of beans and corn happy harvest
So glad to see you guys back!!! I really enjoy your videos!!!
Thank you! It's good to be back. I appreciate all the support.
Glad to see y’all back, I’ve been missing the videos.
Be sure to seal your grain handling equipment. The canola is very hard to transport. It leaks out small holes!
Glad you guys are back was getting worried about you
So glad to see you guys are back. Was worried you had lost interest in TH-cam
We miss y'all glad y'all are back
Good to see you ol boys back

been missing you ! 👈
I was starting to get concerned. Glad you’re back.
Great yields Dylan! Middle Tennessee is not good at all. God bless
Glad y’all are back and in good corn. Was getting a little worried about y’all!
Great video good to see y'all
Thanks 👍
Where have you been. I put your faces as missing people on milk jugs. Good to see you guys back. 😊
🤣 the milk insudstry came through! They found us.!

Missed you guys!
It's good to be back. I've got another video coming out on Wednesday or next Sunday. I'm not sure which one yet.
Y'all must have gotten a 8 row header for that combine

I'm waiting for that big crome straight pipe on the 4 wheel drive
It might be a while before I do that.
Hells to the yea.. Glad to see someone else is still running a 9400, and a bit of terraces too.
It's been a great combine. We bought it in late 2016.
have seen some videos of thomas farms
That 8 row header is helping your yield by a little also won’t take much to pay for that header if it were at $6/bu!
It sure would be nice if corn was $6/bu.
Yeah big bad John would’ve looked good on the cart 👍

I haven't kicked the bucket yet.
How did the 9400 like the 8 row head?
It did great.
@@DylanJoyceFarms hey that’s awesome 👍
How many acres are y’all farming? Great video as always. Nice cornhead as well
1000 acres

Youre $hitin us about the canola, right? Corn looks great. Glad your back on tv again
Stay tuned and find out 🤣
how dry was this corn
14-15%
Wife wants to know how the old combine is
33 years old
That’s was the wife’s combine
Where have you been?
Just livin' the dream

How many acres of corn you got?
400
I bet an 8 row head is a load on the old 9400?
I can't really tell much of a difference other than getting over more acres in a day.

Top sive is open way too far. Ran a 9400 for 20 years. Never had whole cobs in tank. It can do a beautiful job on corn if you get it dialed in.
I've got it set to put grain in the tank. When the elevator starts complaining that's when I'll start worrying about it.
