- Roughly two years ago I was able to purchase a barn find 1960 Cadillac Coupe Deville that had been sitting abandoned in the lean to of a barn since 1974. Let's see if we can get this gorgeous piece of American automotive history back on the road for the first time in 50 Years! If you'd like to own this one it can be yours for $20,000 as shown. As always, thanks for watching!

Boring you need to stop putting down other shops your work on junction and not good at it
And yet here you are, putting down my content! Also, you need to work on your punctuation and spelling.
@@MortskeRepair 😂😂😂👍🇬🇧
I had to read this comment six times to figure out what he was saying.
I still don't understand it. "Your work on junction and not good at it"? Beats me.....
@@dannymusgrave4516 You obviously don’t watch very often a very closely. The “ putting down other shops” is a running joke between him, and the other shops!
I know it's your channel Mr. Mortske, but... I hope you thank the good Lord every day that you have Mr. Mojo on your team. He's an amazing asset. 💎
Mojo is the man for sure, I wish I could spend a day or two working with Mojo and get some of his wisdom
I sure do!

Mr MOJO RiSING!!!
I have to appreciate where Mojo has been and the skills he possesses.
With the world the way it is these days Mortske 's content is like a breath of fresh air keep up the great videos
Will do!
The knowledge a guy could learn hanging with mojo for a day. After watching Mortske I gained confidence to weld floors in. This is quickly becoming my favorite channel, and I watch many others.
Right on!
FINALLY we get the video on the ol' Caddy! Been looking forward to seeing this old girl have her story told.
Dont listen to those who complain about the length of your episodes! I love it and i always learn things!
The hate on 4 doors is insane.. parting the 4 door is heartbreaking. I hope it gets restored. Doing my 4 door 59 now. I couldn’t care less that its a 4 door. Been in the family since 1978
Agreed, especially 4 door pillerless for formal cars they look great specially on standard rims.
I've not heard anyone complain about "4 door" cars since the 80's!!
Good lord!!! That was a project! Not many youtubers would sit on project video for years just to get it right! Everyone else would of swapped a small block and a 700r4 in her the first sign of trouble. I love that you left her originalish and I ussually could care less about matching brands. This one is an epic Mortske Repair. After you watch this the first time everyone should through this on every device they touch for the next month to get it the veiws it deserves. Hats off man!
Well said!
"It's got a hitch, but the only thing this ever pulled was tail." Classic.
Man, that car is all there. It would make the whole neighborhood jealous as is.
Lol
Who else called in sick just to stay home and watch Mortske work his magic.. 😎
No TH-cam channel is worth all that

@@MyGarage-uu5ldWanna bet?...
... that's what "sick time" is for... XD
Going into work and watching it while you are supposed to be working is the move. 😂😂😂
I would have but used all I had on previous vids!
This is the BEST video from you that I've ever seen. Old Cadillacs are the best subjects of restoration / revival videos. Every time I got a glimpse of this car in previous videos, I just had to know what was going on with it. It was a big tease for a while, but this video really made my day. Thank you, Mojo, Chin and Duff!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for not giving us a bunch of cut up episodes about the great Cadillac 1960 beauty! I love it that you kept the whole project going until you had a full episode to release and not what most do!! AWESOME!! Hi Duff!! Oh AND THANK YOU MOJO!!! I LOVE THIS CAR!!
Our pleasure!
Where would you be without Mojo? He's the man!
Sure is!
i was watching this when my wife took a look for a bit. She said "He sounds like a professor for cars."
The Professor. Professor Mortske. Good nickname.
Professor Mortske. Has a ring to it
She's a good woman!
Better than his stock car name...... "Bubba Mortske". I'm not sure he liked that name when I laid it on him when e was working on the blue Camaro.
Mojo is a national treasure and deserves a monument to honor his service! You better be paying him well!
sure is!
Had a friend when I was in my early twenties that bought a 59 Fleetwood, it was gray and it was immaculate. In like 1972. He used it for camping. What a monster! Enjoy your stuff.
good times!
HOLY CRAP! BUY EVERYTHING IN THAT BARN!!
Duff is definitely in his happy place. Thanks Chin, Duff, Mojo and Mortske

Transmission is a 4 speed DUAL COUPLING Hydramatic, also commonly called 4 speed Hydramatic Jetaway. I had mine rebuilt on my 58 caddy 9 years ago for the 1st time. Kanter had a complete kit for it, finding someone to rebuild it was a nightmare . And that's here in Southern California. Every shop I called said they had no idea how to do it. Finally found a shop in Redlands that said they could do it, and had an elderly retired Transmission specialist that they used just for these old cars. They had it about a month, They did a great job. 9 years later its still working great! They charged me exactly 2000 dollars! Really nice people including the owner.
Thanks for the inof!
YOU CAN'T GIVE UP ON THAT CADILLAC MORTSKE! , BECAUSE- IT'S TO ROCK AND ROLL MAN! IT'S A MOST, THAT YOU GET IT BACK ON THE ROAD 👍
He will give up. Should rename this Jackass Garage.
Another American classic has been successfully resurrected the Mortske way. A Big Thumbs up. 👍
"It's a good day! It's a great day! Everything is great!!"
That's a T-shirt all day long.
Such a cool car... my Grandmother had a '72 Coupe de Ville with the 472 engine, and it would haul ass for such a big heavy car! I know because Gran got a speeding ticket in it going 80mph, and I saw her spin the tires without really trying (Ooops!). One thing I remember was doing a tune-up on it, and having a heck of a time getting the timing right. I ended up timing it by ear, and it wasn't until a couple of weeks later that I found out that the number 1 cylinder was on the front passenger side of the engine-- unlike the Buicks, Oldsmobiles, and Chevys I was used to working on! When Gran took it to a shop to have the timing checked, the mechanic said it was right on the money. I guess my ears worked just fine!
Nothing like having a friend like MoJo or a dog like Duff.
Probably the 2 best things in your life, THANKS FOR THE VIDS. SIR.
Our pleasure
3 hours? That’s like a mini series
All in one!
Caddies were always the top of GM's line, owned by the rich . A whole lot of Rock Stars also ferried themselves between concerts , and bankers and lawyers and politicians also rode in style at a time when gas was cheap and bigger cars were even better . Thank you for the video , also thanks to your crew , MoJo . Chin , and experts behind the scenes who worked so hard to make this program a huge success . Stuart in Canada ..
Our pleasure!
When I was growing up my Dad always drove an Olds because we lived in Lansing, Michigan. Around Christmas of 1959 he came home with a white 1960 Cadillac Sedan DeVille. It was the biggest car I ever saw. It had an electric antenna that went up when you turned on the radio. That Caddy was the first car I ever saw with electric windows. I clearly remember the window sticker being just over $5,000. The next summer we took a road trip to upper Michigan. You just felt like a millionaire riding in that car even if you were in the back seat. That trip was the first time we crossed the Mackinac Bridge between lower and upper Michigan. My Dad had been riding with his arm out the window his whole life and so he didn't order air conditioning. Great memory of my pre-teen years.
Thanks for sharing!
Sounds amazing
Sounds like you need to buy this car from old Mortske so he doesn’t lose the shop!!😂
Even though I had to watch this episode in three sittings, as time allowed, I thoroughly enjoyed it!
You have a National Treasure in Mojo! Can’t wait to see that F-1 up and going! Thanks, Thomas Mortske, for sharing your antics, shop events, road trips and all! Love seeing Duff, enjoy the interactions with Mojo, Chin, Dad Mortske, and all the episodes with Puddins Fab!

I'm not exactly a Cadillac guy, but I gotta say, this video was so freakin cool. To be able to see all of it done in one video was amazing. 3 hour video, and I got nothing done today because of it, darn it. :D Thanks, Mojo, Chin, and DB, you guys kick ass!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I like the full length video on the big projects like this caddy. Mojo is welth of knowledge, and it's awesome when he shares that wisdom with us. He's the employee of the year indefinitely!
he sure is!
My father had a ‘64 Galaxie. It was his first car. The white paint eggshelled so he scrubbed it with comet. Said it brought the white back up. Didn’t shine, but it was white again.
Caddy looks great with the steelies!!
Sure does!
"A mini aluminum bowling pin"... LOL! Or, a lead fishing weight. I love you Mortski!
Nooooo!
@@MortskeRepair LOL 😆 😂 🤣
If you're doing it right or wrong is irrelevant at this point! Most of us never worked on an old Caddy engine so we are learning as you go too! All you can do is try! We all need a Mojo sometimes! God bless!
Back-2-Back Mortske!!!
Hey, someone told me a long time ago that you don't do anything wrong, you just learn something, thanks for all you do and the great content you're doing something right. Not to mention that you are saving yet another one from the crusher.
Thank you!
That old guy in your video is an inspiration for elderly folks like me. Tell him thanks Mortske
That's no old guy ...that's Mojo the knowledge behind Mortske.

My dad loved this era of Cadillacs. Remember him referring to these as rocket assed Cadillacs.
I love that era too! I'm using that one for life👍 I had a 67 sedandevel. He might call it a flat assed 😄

Dannnnnnnnng! 3 hour video. Hell yeah
Duff walking the wide green lawns of Mortske Manor is a magnificent visual. There is something about The Duff Dog that’s magical! Waiting a long time to finally see the Caddy video, and it was worth every minute of the three plus hour epic presentation. Thank you Mortske!
Couldn't agree more!
“Flexi-exhaust pipe, I don’t even know if I hate those!” 😂 That was classic! Definitely gave me a good laugh.
That should be a Mortske shirt “I don’t even know if I hate that!”
Wow, what a treat. Awesome content as always Mortske.
Say hi to Duff dog, Mojo and Chin!
Daaaang (insert puddin voice here) lol. Thats a true land yacht. needs an anchor instead of brakes. lol Thanks for the hugemongous upload sir!
lol
Tech tip: use a church key to punch a hole on the lid of that paint can. The plastic bag doesn’t work. Pour the paint into a separate container. When finished, plug the hole in the can with plumbers putty. 60% of the time, it works every time. Btw… church keys should be magnetic. Peace.
Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for a great video. i really love the sixty cad. I'm the same age by the way. In Sweden, these cars are significantly more expensive. I've been thinking about buying one, but my garage is a bit too tight. Looking forward to the next video. Keep up the good work!
Daaaang! You brought that finish back nicely Sir Mortikus! And quite honestly, I believe just about any color would look nice with those white steelies! Thanks again for yet another epic Mortske adventure! Much love & God bless!~ Scott 💙🙏🏼
Thank you very much!
Thank goodness! I thought I would face this week without the Mortske video of the week. (Thanks for the Model A video! That got me through Monday.)
You're welcome!
I stuck it out for the hole video. It was worth it. Thanks, someone needs that car in their life
Much appreciated!
My Summer Car vibes with all those parts setting out.
For the Comet thing. Wet down the metal. Sprinkle the dry Comet over it like you are salting down a brisket. Then scrub with the Scotchbrite pad or even the dish scrubber sponge with the plastic scrubby side from the dollar store. Let the slightly moistened powder act as the cutting agent. Works on bathtub stains too kinda
What a great video. From the engine replacement, to the transmission swap and the interior and finally the paint....
Great stuff ❤❤❤
This video is that long I took early retirement so I could watch the video
Well worth the watch
congratulations!
Big thanks to the editor of this long video it was epic!!!
I haven't sat and watched a show more than 3 hours long since Dances with Wolves. You're no Kevin Costner but thanks for providing us with 3 hours of distraction from this crazy world that we're living in. Keep up the good work dude!
Wow, thanks!
Remember, every day is a good day but some days are better than others
absolutely!
I’m half way thru the video. This is great, I sure hope you can get those heads into shape. This could be a 4 part series just getting it to daily driver status. I use to think you talk to much but I have come to appreciate your style. You’re actually my favorite show now. 👍🏼
Appreciate the feedback!
Wheels look way more gooder after the comet wash. Thanks for persevering with this one, it was worth the effort. One of the best looking cars ever made. Great vid
Thanks 👍
Hell yeah... It's a day late but a three + hour video was worth the wait...
Great video. Great car. Definitely a lot of work but that car has a second
chance at life now.
Appreciate it!
That Caddy is a sweet ride for a king
Omg 3 hours and 21 minutes!!! This is gonna be epic. Thank you sir Morticus
You're welcome!
I've seen this vehicle in the background of videos for months now and am so excited to finally get a video on it, it's 3 hours long, and I'm off work on this 106 degree Okiehoma day so this is a PERFECT time to see it all come together!
Hope you enjoy it!
i'm not a Cadillac fan but that thing brings old original rock n roll to mind. I like the white steelies.
Excellent content, Thomas! I have never sat through nearly 3 1/2 hours of a TH-cam clip and it held my attention. You’re the boss, my friend, “hats off to your crew as well.”
Thanks for watching!
3 Hrs 21 min. 17 Sec. Of Caddy Love!!!
I enjoyed watching Cindy make her come back. I hope she finds a good home. Great job!
I hope so too!
This is outstanding! Thank you Morske, mojo,Chin and who ever else had a hand in reviving this car and making this epic video. Truly enjoyed it.
Thanks again!
Finally a good old fashion OG Mortske vid👍👍
Bodies were built by Fischer, front clips were built by each division. So yeah, different paint booths, in different factories and possibly in different states! It is a wonder that they matched up at all!
Truly appreciate the fact that you drop some old-school hip-hop in there. Really let me know that found its way all across America even back in the 80s and 90s.
Shows how much time, money and effort a full resto takes. I like em like that. Ima supreme guy when it comes to early caddy’s, but those don’t offend too bad. Love them 60’s
Loving my autograph flyer and my New Mortski Banner! Thanks for that!
Thanks for your purchase!
This one ought to piss off the jackwads who complain that the videos are too long! I love it.😂
No doubt!
Started watching it in London and was still watching it at home 110 miles up country.

MoJo will get the job done with a measuring tape and some clamps, LOL. I respect MoJo.....
We all do!
Ive been preoccupied with the fall of Rome - I mean "current events" I pert near missed an absolute JEM of a Mortske video!😮
I am glad to see Mojo on the job ,not to many guys like him around . Enough of that Mortski your still my hero
I own a 59 flat top sedan. Only car I've owned that's worth 4x more in parts than a running driving vehicle. Definitely don't throw away anything on that car. But there's nothing like a 59-60 caddy
Except for my 58...😁
Yes those are really rare the back window is almost impossible to find, I thought the back window matched up with the 1959 Chevrolet El Camino but it's different. Cadillac don't make any reproduction parts so owning a Cadillac you have to be a hunter for looking for parts. That's why these day's most are being kustmized because the parts are very expensive. I have a friend that inhierte 2 Cadillac from his grandfather 1956 and his Father's 1958 convertible both are painted black and car show garage kept.
OMG Mr.Morikus this is a good peace of metal 😊
sure is!
So good to finally see you all work on the Caddy and drive it! It’s been in the back of the videos so long. Hope you keep it. Tech tip of the day, antenna will go up and down when you pull/push the radio knob. (If you didn’t know)
Such a good looking Cadillac. Can't wait to see more of it. Duff is a good and faithful buddy.
Get em Mortske and Duff-ster! Or what's that Puddin says, "Mortecus, Morticus" or whatever! Sir Morticus and Squire Duff!
I don't think l have ever seen anyone pop a wheelie in a roll back! 🤣
Cleetus did it recently I believe, but at least this was by accident and more entertaining 😅
I had a ‘77 Lincoln Town Coupe that used to wheelie rollbacks on the rare occasion that it needed a tow.
@@lawrenceedwards6327 haha, you actually brought back an old memory of mine.
Was given a 90 Gmc Safari ( Astro ) that was an ex Bell Atlantic phone van, absolutely nothing in the back, and a good 4.3. If we backed down my driveway and neutral drop it (i was young and dumb , yes i know it didn’t help the trans) it would buck and go an inch or two off the ground lol. We beat the hell outta it and it never quit, sold it for $700 to a carpet company with 317k on it

Hey Mortske, I appreciate your channel more and more! You put in a fair bit of work on the Caddy and really saved her! I like how you put everything into the one video (one and done) but still feel like I'd like to see things like the head being sent off and machined etc...👍Mojo is the man! He is Mojo and never lost it!
Hey, thanks!
You sure did sink some hours into this land yacht and made a video of epic proportions!! These Caddy's are always a blast to drive, I'm waay out of touch with prices, last time I went to buy a 59 coupe it was 5k!! (matt black and with the dark blue carpet I almost didn't notice the big holes in the floor!). Thanks Mortske!
That’s a great achievement but it doesn’t over shadow the fact that in 1966 Al Bundy scored 4 touchdowns in the championship game vs Andrew Johnson High school.
Never forget!
😂😅
Man, that chrome, shinin like a diamond in a goat's ass! Good job guys!
I watched the whole video, the 59 caddie is iconic this has to be a keeper love how you had it pulled out the barn left for dead and slowly transformed it back to life. Great choice of wheels and tires until you find the right wheel covers. Not shire the wheel covers you show look like 1958 caddie wheel covers.
My friend's Father has a 1958 convertible Caddie and the wheels look like hub caps but it's the wheel itself I know he said they are very hard to find the rims if not impossible.
They make reproduction wheel covers even those are pricey just for wheel covers. I agree I like the all in one video I know it's a lot of work to up load and do everything before hand thanks you and Duff 👍🏾
One of your best video to date .What a Kool Car I love 59's & 60's, best Caddy's Ever !
thanks so much!
Now this, THIS I get...nice sled.
I always thought the 60 was the best looking! There was a black one in the area, it looked like a Batmobile!
She said to Mortske, "Will you still need me, will you still feed me (premium), when I'm 64?"
For what it's worth, this is my Beatles birthday year too. I think just about everything you fixed and replaced on the Caddy... I could use too.
Buddy...of all your rigs, this Caddy is my favorite. I'm afraid I couldn't let her go. Well done to you and your crew!
Thanks 👍
