Nailed it. Amazing how many people do not know this is the case. Another one that you should listen from beginning to end because it tells a story is Styx - Kilroy Was Here. Mr. Roboto is what most people listen to and nothing else. :(

One of the greatest concerts I have ever seen in my life was their Empire tour. They played the entire Empire album, some classics from their older albums, and then played the ENTIRE album "Operation Mindcrime" non-stop. The entire concert was over three hours and Geoff Tate's voice was as powerful in this (the last song) as it was when they opened. The man is a vocal legend.
One the the bands, musicians vocalist, and records i respect the most...geoff tate is a god of vocals... You understand why its awesome dude, thank you!
I just saw this for the first time. Sad it only has 74 likes. I miss your music reactions. You were my favorite and the one that got me into watching reactions. I wish you did this whole album before you quit. You’d have been fuckin blown away.
Loved your reaction! You've gotten the essence of QR -- INTENSITY, great songwriting, stellar musicianship, and... Geoff''s KILLER vocals,! For more of the above, Listen to ALL of the album Operation: Mindcrime in order! Another great song from this album is SPEAK! Please do more (original line-up) Queensryche!!!
I was introduced to this music in 1988 and my unrefined 12 year old ears were not ready. Two years later with "empire" and the "operation live crime" box set, i became OBSESSED with their entire catalogue. I always had a love for music, but these guys inspired me to play guitar. I'm happy to see you and others who can appreciate this great music
Geoff Tate will always be one of the greatest metal singers of all time in my book. Chris DeGarmo just killed it on "Operation: Mindcrime" one of the greatest albums of all time. Other great tracks to check out are "Queen of the Reich", "Take Hold of the Flame", "The Lady Wore Black", the entire "Operation: Mindcrime" concept album, and the only cover I can think of they did was from Dalbello "Gonna Get Close To You" which is a slower mid-tempo song.
This album has so many great memories. Still gives me chills to this day. Me and my friends were all drama students, and we would all take turns acting this whole album out. Good times.
guy in the hat is chris degarmo.. he was born 3 weeks before me at the deaconess hospital in wenatchee washington.. BUT shortly after he moved to bellevue and the rest is history.. if he hadnt, then i would have known him for sure. but instead he moves to bellevue, meets Geoff and off they go!!.. i talked to geoff about it, and how big a decision can be to stay or move to another area and how it can impact our future lives..
Glad to see you appreciate brilliant musicality! Lol top hat guy is chris fucking degarmo! He now is an American airlines pilot and cowrote most of the songs! Please give this entire album a listen in its entirety! It's a story and a masterpiece
King! So good to see you back, brother! And with a killer song that reminds me of my High School years, cuz Queensryche first came out when I was a Junior in High School, with "Operation Mindcrime"! Great memories!
Finally got to see this reaction after it being blocked for so long and it was great. I know u don't do music reactions anymore (your reactions were always great and honest in my opinion) but if u ever decide to return to doing them I think it would be cool to see you react to the entire OPERATION:MINDCRIME album that would be TOP LEVEL hahaha. They covered Simon and Garfunkel’s “Scarborough Fair” and they covered Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb” and The Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again” with Dream Theater.
Queensryche is one of my favorite bands they are spectacular! They have so many great songs I wouldn't even know where to start! I wish you would do more queensryche reactions
Chris DeGarmo (with hat) Michael Wilton (without hat) those are the guitarists, Eddi Jackson on Bass, Scott Rockenfield on drums and Geoff Tate on lead vocals. And that good sir was the lineup of the band at this time.
They actually have a entire album of covers, called the covers. Definitely listen to that. If you like this you will definitely like all the other albums they have out there. Enjoy!!!

They did an all covers album in 2007 called "Take Cover". Songs include 1)Bullet The Blue Sky (U2), 2)For The Love Of Money (O'Jays), 3)Welcome To The Machine (Pink Floyd) & 4)Odissea (Italian opera song). The rest weren't that great. They did do a BRILLIANT cover of '60s folk singers' Paul Simon & Art Garfunkel called 5)Scarborough Fair back in 1990. Overall, they weren't big on covers. 6)ROADS TO MADNESS is the Queensryche song to check out. It's haunting, epic & deep. The studio album version with lyrics is the best version to hear. It might give you chills
I have six Queensryche songs for you that are rarely or never suggested; 1)Roads To Madness (1984) album version, 2)Best I Can (1990), 3)En Force. I recommend the entire Operation: Mindcrime album from start to finish as this is actually the very last song of an hour long concept album which tells the story of Nikki an Mary who gets caught up in a very dangerous underground movement bent on power, revolution and so much more. The album deals with corrupt government, organized religion, assassination and murder, drugs, prostitution and even mind control. For many years the band denied attempts to turn it in to a major motion picture but the story is right out of a Hollywood script. Think about doing a couple songs at a time and make sure to follow along with the lyrics. I think it would be great to have you try and tell us what you think is happening in the story while listening along.
That’s why you need to listen to the whole album beginning to end operation Mindcrime play each song separate And see how they relate to the next song and songs after the songs critique the album for the story
