Hi Joe, I'm not sure if you read your comments or if I might be sending this into the void, but I just wanted to say that I've been really enjoying following you over the last few months and trying to extrapolate the bits of info you give into my own life and career. I'm a classical violinist and often we're not thought of as athletes until injury, but I've been trying to analyse and improve my own physical, mental, and emotional wellness in the classical music sphere. After experiencing a bout of depression last year after an intense two years of auditioning and performing and visiting a physiotherapist, it finally clicked that my body knew long ago the strain I was under, way before my mind ever accepted it.
Unfortunately there's not a lot of trainers or physiotherapists with a great knowledge of the athleticism it takes to be a musician, and even though I'm trying my best I really hope that it's a perspective that changes soon because classical music is fraught with injury and tension and we just associate that largely with the experience that comes with the music and the life of a musician. The separation of physical and emotional (and mental) however is really detrimental to the overall culture, and I think it's time young musicians learned to do things in a more unifying, holistic way. However I'm lucky to have a physiotherapist that is open to improving and expanding his knowledge, just as you are. You remind me of him, and vice versa. I know that you hope to improve others by improving yourself so I thought I'd let you know that yes you are helping and yes we are listening! The classical music world desperately needs you(!), but for now I'm just trying my best with what I'm given. Thank you so much for sharing things you find interesting, things you find challenging, and taking the initiative to show how you condition and take care of yourself.
Not sure if any of that made sense since I'm in a rush, but either way big love to you, all the way from Australia!

Don't know if you will see this comment a year later from posting.
Been suffering from a bulging disc for last two years. Working hard in PT but this is perfect for mornings when I am sore and need to warm up before my workout in a dynamic way that is not too much. Also great for mornings when I just need to get some movement or mid day breaks. Thank you!
