This is seriously incredible and I really do like the end result I think this will last many years to come looks great all round and not overly done it's perfect
We would just like to say a huge thank you to Paul and our two lads for everything you have done with Fred for us. Our appreciation goes beyond words. Thank you too to everyone on here for your praise and kind words. For those of you who are wondering what the car will now be called, well he will will always be simply Fred the Shed (Fred at home). Its who he is and always will be and that is what makes him special. Fred has a little more work to go, but he has a future of adventures ahead of him exploring the glens, mountains, highlands and Islands of Scotland and other special parts of the British Isles. Thanks again everyone.
Another fantastic video Paul and was great to have a catch up and a good few laughs and thanks for the tea 😁. We're really glad you like the way Fred has come along. Some kind words from the rover man himself is praise indeed! 😁 I bet those quality streets were gone before this video was posted! 😂 A good share of the credit also has to go to yourself Paul for saving Fred from an untimely end and being determined that Fred wouldn't be scrapped. Now it's probably fair to say that Fred will probably be around for at least another 15 years if not longer!
£4k to have a car you actually want to own and drive with a full chassis refresh is about as cheap as can be done. I’d say that’s a bargain and a genuine gesture towards saving the planet. In terms of depreciation and/or interest payments on something newer it’s nothing and the cars still a £2k asset all day.
How super Fred looks. I like Fred, I think Fred looked like a loyal and hard working companion who hadn’t received the care and attention his loyalty and enterprise deserved so I’m very happy to see he has finally found a home that appreciates him. I mentioned before that to me one of Fred’s most enigmatic features was his large ‘UK’ sticker. This meant tales of continental adventure, happy and excited families, tents, inflatable kayaks, footballs, cheese, wine, sausages, mountains and beaches. I think a car with a ‘UK’ sticker is somehow elevated in status. It turns a car into an explorer. Fred the Shed took people across continents and that is much more interesting than something with half the miles that never went further than the bi-annual visit to the relatives in Hemel Hempstead. I hope that one day Fred will once again receive the mark of the traveller, once again travel the D roads of France, the autobahns of Germany, the coastal roads of Italy or the smooth, sweeping mountain roads in Catalonia. I’m glad you didn’t give up on Fred whilst others were calling for his euthanising when he just needed some love and I’m glad he had found such a wonderful new family home. Well done everyone.
Wow, what a fantastic transformation! Got to give those chaps a huge amount of respect for doing all that work for their Dad. Also to you Paul for saving Fred in the first place, enabling this fabulous restoration. That is now one of the nicest 75s of any description I've seen.😊
As soon as I saw Fred (in this vid) I said "Wow..." and then you opened the door and we saw the inside and I said "WOOOW!" ...I love that you were stubborn about Fred's potential in his early yard days, and I am so glad the lads have achieved it! (and OMG the umbrella! AND I have missed the song! ❤☔🌈 )
I recently calculated my spending on my 1999 Rover 75 1.8 to be over £3000 in just under 3 years - an average of £20 per week. This includes purchase at £800, a set of tyres at £220, and a new head gasket/engine mounts £540, new rear suspension springs/shocks £160, a new set of discs and pads (not fitted yet) £180, and replacement 16" wheels refurbished and retyred (again not fitted yet) £420 This totals £2320, the remainder went on servicing (4 oil/filter changes).
A bargain isn't it, really? Whenever I add up the costs of my Rovers, I compare it to the costs of having a new car on finance/leasing. When I've got a running, driving car with 12 months MOT for less than what some people would spend on 4 monthly payments of a new car they'll never actually own, I think that's pretty good.
A massive 👍 to these two brothers, a lot of hard work I'm sure took place. Don't you mean the criminals running into the ground Paul, the Phoenix Consortium 🤬
Wow fred looks the business those 2 brothers did some job, that's a beautiful car, that midnight blue with the chrome, and that interior 👌 👏worth every penny
Seems weird watching you drive a Rover without a headliner sagging behind you. As has already been justifiably acknowledged, the boys have done a cracking job and well worth it. If I can get my ZT-T anywhere close to that I'll be happy.
Fred's gone upmarket 😮! Any more smarter and He'd have a little Black Bowtie on His Grill😂! He's gone from Poundland to Harrod's 😂! Congratulations to the brothers who whipped Fred back into shape 👍. Speaking of 'shape' Boaty can now take a long walk off a short Pier...😮😒. Shame on him for wanting to just throw Fred in the scrap pile...👎. See? In the end, it's all about finding the right buyer.....😉❗

No, the £31 grand Brand New Suzuki Vitara Hybrid we had was a waste of money, when it was so easily replaced by a mere £4 grand put into Fred. Perhaps @Andy Pipsqueak, we just have very different values, because to us, £4k spent on Fred so far, has been worth every single penny.
All Hail Fred the Shed!! ( although i was in Boatys camp🤫) erm...well done fo all involved 😂
This is seriously incredible and I really do like the end result I think this will last many years to come looks great all round and not overly done it's perfect
The British love of the underdog, salutes to those industrious new owners - proper job 👍
Lost for words!!! 😮 JUST INSANE ! 🤩
Incredible job guys and another Rover saved 👍🏼
Properly saved!
you ok, Joe? Hope life is good, mate.
@General_Cheeseburger I'm good thanks Mark 😊 How are you ? 🙌
Amazing restoration job on the 75. Credit to you guys.
Brilliant to see Fred again. Congratulations Rob & Aaron on a tremendous job.
Great to hear the 'Fred the Shed' anthem again too!
Great stuff made. And Boaty has egg on his face :)
Great car, great chaps and a great video❤👍

Great work, brilliant that you have saved a great British car and it looks fantastic.

Motovational, probably economically sensible and arguably even environmentally sound.
Thank you, absolutely loads for bringing the car back, and for saving this great car. 😊
One heck of a job boys, Fred looks splendid. Long live Fred!
Brilliant Mustard..that genuinely brought a smile to my face seeing Sir Freddie Of Wakefield in all his new (mostly) shiny glory. Well done lads.👍👍
Wonderful to see the reborn Fred. The bros have done a fantastic job. Doing it for their Dad is something special indeed..
Fred was always worth it. Great to see him looking so splendid! 🐈⬛
Good save

A very Dapper Mustard with a very Dapper Fred 👍
I enjoyed watching this video. It's so heartwarming to hear of the 75 being restored. I will be checking out A Class Of Its Own. Great work!
Fred’s looking seriously smart. He’s been taking sartorial tips from you Paul!
🤣
What a transformation! A beautiful car and an awesome job by all involved 👍
Great work fellas 👏👏👏

Quite simply you had to hang on to Fred just to piss Boaty off, lucky you did!
Fred the Undead lives on !
Fred the (back from the dead) shed
Stately Home Stephen? Just seen the bonnet; maybe semi-detached Simon..😊
I've never driven a rover actually, any of them. I'd love to gove it a try though
Economically viable no worth it oh yes👍

Isn't that subjective @andypipkin? If someone wants to spend their money on something they deem valuable to them, then surely that isn't a waste?
@@retrogamingmoviemad yes it is on a car with 300K on, its scrap - a fancy head liner does not negate the fact its EOL
Hahaha..it doesn't have 300k on it🤣🤣 perhaps it's just Fred's colour you don't like? Perhaps Green is much more your colour!
