Hammond, of course. His modifications are *always* the most out of the box, innovative, & exciting. They usually don't work very well, but they're always the most interesting.
Because like it or not, it doesn’t look good in the modern day uploading a video where a white 30-40 year old from Yorkshire mocks how Chinese people supposedly sound when they speak English. Put simply, there is no humour nor substance in that. What’s the joke? What’s funny about Clarkson saying “Orrr! Somebody lite erreven!”? It’s not funny anymore, the standard has changed
In the motorhome video they also cut the part where Jeremy is using the word "retard", because I guess both of those are not with Top Gear's "modern standards".
Impressive! Been trying to trade on my own for a while now, but it isn't going well. few months ago I lost about $27,000 in the trade. Can you please at least advise me on what to do?
Now wait a second, if you sell it as parts afterwards you can have about 2-3 days of fun (or misery I guess) and make a bit of money. That sounds pretty fair to me.
@TopGearClassic the 70s Italian exotics was spectacular! It had such a genuine sense of *adventure* - very unlike this challenge, which was pure comedy (particularly towards the end).
Every time I watch the bit at 4:02 and I see what Stig is doing inside the car, I just die. Even the Stig is trying the ol' "this will make it accelerate faster" trick, that's how hopeless the car was.
When I was a child and I was sick, I would stay home and watch game shows on television. Now that I’m 55 and under the weather, this is one of the happiest shows I can watch :-)
00:54 might be the best James May laugh ever on Top Gear in my humble opinion. More subtle than the rest but once you hear it in this clip, you can't unhear it
So glad to hear a Brit accent instead of American english once in a while and a pronounced „e“ in Porsche! Thank you! Love from Germany 👍♥️ Ah yes, the times when Porsche created or better experimented with affordable, but somewhat cringy models, that looked nothing like the 911, had a weak front engine like the 924, 944, 928….
I like how they cut Clarkson's impression of a Chinese man saying the number eleven. For that moment watch the video on the Top Gear channel, the video was posted sixteen years ago.
As much as I love this show, you get the impression that any and every second-hand car involved in the show was a former bait car that was purchased at a police auction. 🙊🙉🙈❤
I feel like the person who edited this video didn’t take into account that removing Jeremy’s Chinese 11 joke makes Richards remarks at 8:06 and 8:52 sound a lot more racist than with 😬🤣
I used to own a Porsche 944...85.5 IIRC. Great little car, fun as heck to drive, very agile and controllable. Only problem was, it was a money pit. Constantly something going wrong with it, constantly having to fix something. Got tired of it and sold it a good 10 years ago. Sometimes wish I still had it.
3:18 Judge: “I really can’t give you many points for the seats.” Hammond: “But you can’t knock many off. Because there’s nothing wrong with them if they aren’t there.” Judge: “True”
Only good thing to come from them leaving topgear was I got to cancel my TV tax, it was the last TV show I watched and I wasn't even curious about the reboot, The Grand tour was awesome but they've stopped that now too but thank God for youtube and prime where I can rewatch the best bits and the GT episodes
I think I've only ever seen this uploaded on the BBC's actual channel, so I didn't even know about the part where the judges went around the cars and spoke to the presenters x)
Jokes aside the blackboard paint on the car so you can draw on it with chalk is an incredible idea. Imagine going to like a car show or something and you hand out chalk to everyone who walks by to draw something on your car. It would be hilarious
Who made the best changes to their Porsche?
Jeremy tbf (reply to me)
Hammond, of course. His modifications are *always* the most out of the box, innovative, & exciting. They usually don't work very well, but they're always the most interesting.
richard hammond, imo, but i can't drive stick
James 0:14
@TopGearClassic
None of them.
In fact, they ruined their cars.
I noticed that they cut the bit where Jeremy did an impression of a Chinese person reacting to his ‘eleven’ lol
Clarkson's no.11 skidmark looked more like a pair of earmuffs or earphones than a no.11 skidmark! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
BBC censorship strikes again!

Probably a wise decision XD
5:54 Clarkson laughing in voiceover will never not be hilarious.
"Its not funny!"
Why did that happen
Hello how do you make such monthly??
Impressive! Been trying to trade on my own for a while now, but it isn't going well. few months ago I lost about $27,000 in the trade. Can you please at least advise me on what to do?
Sorry about that.... Well I started with Mr Nicholas Burka Gaffney in 2023 and now my life is good something to write home about!!!! I thank God🤲🤲
5:54
You know it's a really funny moment when Jeremy laughed about it even in voiceover.
0:53 May's laugh sounds like a manual car shifting gears without a fully engaged clutch
Or more like a duck
@@morfeasrellas3561 james may is the original Mighty Duck
What on earth was that sound!
@@MissingPatelyo wtf how u even hear that
4:00-4:05 is the most emotive I've seen the Stig.
He’s literally jumping in his seat to try and make it go faster 😂
Ben must’ve been so annoyed after the shoot, being so used to significantly faster stuff
alright a porsche, this will surely go rather quic- oh, sodding thing move faster!
"COME OOOOOOOOON"
holy shit i just notice that for the first time 😂😂
IMO the first two minutes where the trio is just roasting each other’s car is Top Gear at its best. A pod with these three would feed families
I love the idea of reuploading the old segments of top gear with higher resolution.
But with the offensive bits cut out 🙃
not really imo. you can almost find compilation clips in the same quality but with better contexts
Yeah the BBC wants to serve you censored state approved content.
@@renaultmeganesuperleggerahonestly all of old top gear should be uploaded to TH-cam. BBC is still stuck in 2009 where uploading clips sufficed.
@@Mahoromatic And, let's be honest, still better than anything else on TV.
04:05 the Stig jumping up and down in the seat 😂
4:02
Even Stig was aware how rubbish they are 😂
'Thats not real, obviously'
'What does that do?'
'Nothing'
Basically summing up most of the Top Gear car modification challenges there
“how many cylinders has it got these days? 6 and 3/4” is such a hilarious interaction to me, never known why
Weird part, as a table jeremys engine has gone from 6 cyl to 8...
@@Hainderre It was always a V8 That's why he said it has 6 and 3/4 cylinders. The engine was goosed.
"In conclusion: You can buy a Porsche for under £1500. But for the love of god - Don't!"
Now wait a second, if you sell it as parts afterwards you can have about 2-3 days of fun (or misery I guess) and make a bit of money.
That sounds pretty fair to me.
I didn’t listen to that advice lol I’m now stuck with a 944 that looks like shit
Parts cars
My dream car!
0:14 “I’ve run out of money!” 😂
Hard to believe these old shows are almost 20 years old.
This particular episode is exactly 20 years old! 😱
@TopGearClassic I was one year old when it came out.
obviously didnt include the "oh someone write ereven" bit
Probably because it’s offensive.
So anything that might be considered offensive should be removed from history?
@@dakrayus6519 yes. youre first
@@carlbirtles4518 That was the point of the joke. Top Gear offends everyone. There's nothing wrong with that.
Good
The cheap car challenges are the best!
Which cheap car challenge is your favourite?
@TopGearClassic the 70s Italian exotics was spectacular! It had such a genuine sense of *adventure* - very unlike this challenge, which was pure comedy (particularly towards the end).
It's so sad and depressing to think we will never see anything like it on our tv again nothing will compare to the OG Top gear
@TopGearClassic My favorite is the Miami to New Orleans road trip. Specifically the drive through Alabama.
8:24 This is actually such a wholesome moment between the 3 of them, great banter
Incredibly, selling the car as spares was one of Clarkson's genius idea's.
The table and chairs would have cost more to make than the price of the car.
I think they were worth more than what the car was actually worth.
I want those chairs.
@@Tron_Funkin_Blow What kind of hardware store are you going to?
@@JamesTrifolium Materials, tools and labour. Jeremy would not have done any of that.
5:54 i love how he's laughing even in the voiceover
Clarkson's coffee table and two chairs was just pure genius.
Looked actually good
Nice what a great compilation! I’ve never actually seen the judging part or this part 5:53 Clarkson couldn’t even do the voice over 😭😂🤣
I'm loving Hammond's desperately trying to reason with the judges lol.
There should be a rule that the first person to view a new Top Gear Classic video should write in the comments section “I am the first to arrive.”
And on that terrible bombshell it’s time to end!
Every time I watch the bit at 4:02 and I see what Stig is doing inside the car, I just die. Even the Stig is trying the ol' "this will make it accelerate faster" trick, that's how hopeless the car was.
I’ve always loved the 944
Blackbird SR71? More like a Blackboard SR71.
😂😂😂 I remember Jeremy's reference to certain Capris that had flat black bonnets. I miss watching Top Gear.
8:00 they cut Jeremy's line justifying the number 11 🤣
When I was a child and I was sick, I would stay home and watch game shows on television. Now that I’m 55 and under the weather, this is one of the happiest shows I can watch :-)
0:47 james laughing and pointing at hammonds shit box is gold
Judge on the air scoop, what does it do? NOTHING!! LOL!!
8:05 they cut the line about Chinese elevens
Ahh somebody rike ereven
0:47 James May’s laugh and at 0:54 sounds like a dying duck
oh rook, someone write ereven!
For the ritture chirduren?
Arguably the best segment presented by top gear.
nope got to say Jezza driving down the M3 in a tower block
its crazy how high quality and modern looking the footage and production quality are for how young the team looks. wow
00:54 might be the best James May laugh ever on Top Gear in my humble opinion. More subtle than the rest but once you hear it in this clip, you can't unhear it
One of the best challenges the trio ever did. A certified classic Top Gear episode
incorrect apostrophe in the title
Edit: the campaign has been successful!

it's missing the part where JC goes "rook! ereben"
Woke brigade says NO

Ive had 2 944s, they were great cars. 50/50 weight distribution makes those cars turn like they are on rails
Old top gear was the last good thing to come from the BBC before it died and became the rotting corpse we see today.
You will watch the tv we crank out and pay for the priviledge, or else.
The white 944 is so gorgeous. She needs a little work but damn id love to own that. One of the best looking cars ever made in my opinion
9:00 - I love the way Hammond says "a bit of a gap" xD

Uploaded exactly 20 years after it aired - nice.
We'd like to say it was intentional...
I love these early cheap car challenges, before the 2006 soft relaunch of the show.
4:03 Stig having an episode in the car caught me way off guard and took me about 3 minutes to stop laughing before rewinding and laughing again

Jeremy’s Porsche living room set is honestly badass
Haha, still love Jeremy trying to do a number 11... and failing miserably lol
why is this channel notoriously cutting out all the best jokes
Most of these scenes being dropped are available on the countdown shows if you have Amazon prime, ie everyone.
before i did, i would like to have the 928 seat chairs and the v8 engine coffee table. they actually kinda sick.
Seriously why can’t we get the full challenges?
This is missing so much. Basically just the second half of the challenge
Man that white 944 looks good.
This clip is missing Clarkson's "Oh, someone drew ereven!" in his asian accent.
Racial.
Nothing drives like a 944. Absolute dream

See Jaguar/Volvo/Electric car companies? You can have so much more fun with these old cars than ANY electric car!
So this is where the car furniture originated.
Also, I like how Hammond took the loss on the chin.

Hammond: “But you can’t knock many off. Because there’s nothing wrong with them if they aren’t there.”
