It seems like I have a better dash if I accept the first couple of offers. Even if they aren’t great. Get on the board, and the algorithm will reward it.

Had my first priority dash day this week and made $193 for a 9 hour day. It was the most I’ve made in a day so far. I live and dash in a rural area so that’s good money for my area!

that just means you'll get more orders without the initial tip, so, it's not necessarily a good thing imo
Today was my first REAL day with Priority 70+ and I broke $200 for the first time. 8 hours breakfast and lunch.
I'll just say this. Every area is different even inside your region but I made 50k last year trending toward 70 this year but I'm extreme. My situation dictates I have zero going on and I'm working a ridiculous amount. Example last week 80 hours 1600 in a week. But the key is take every day and where you go and how much gas you use and every restaurant you go to and factor àll those in and as The man says here at end dollars per mile
I currently I have high priority until March 22nd. When I was notified, every order after that was stacked and $20+. Single orders were about $10. & my lowest for that day was about $5-$7 .

Thanks for sharing the new tips. Agreed that peak pay in NC being offered so dashers are available. But tonight dinner rush was miserable orders until dark. Then I'm done.

I never tried dashing in the Charlotte or Concord areas but from my family out there who run a restaurant in Kannapolis say it's busy once they got on with Doordash

We had this in Denver since November. What doordash thinks is high paying is not what drivers think is high paying. All this program does is keeps those below the AR from getting orders at all. Above 70%, I definitely get more orders but they aren't all high paying. I only dash when there's a promo.

Copy that my friend, up north of you in NOCO (Greeley to be precise) I see EXACTLY what you mean and ONLY Dash during Peak Pay.
When do you dash then exactly? They don't have any promos in Denver hardly ever. They sky has to be falling or it has to be 3 in the morning for those promos. Has to be Lakewood or Broomfield because of dashmart too. They don't exist. You know it. I know it. Denver knows it. And it's the same wherever you go.
@@kirkjordan8718 there's usually a promo from 9am to 11am, then from 3pm on. There are usually a few $3 per order promos.
@macro orkut that's a bunch of bs dude. I'm living out of my car and I'm logged in every day. There aren't any promos, haven't been any promos since covid unless you count 6 inches of snow, and won't be any promos because the market is super saturated. We can barely log into the app because the market is super saturated. Why would they have promos? The only promo they have is this $900 recruit a friend thing that delutes itself down to $300 when I try to text a invite. I've been logged into the app for 3 hours tonight and the 2nd order I get offered is $2.50 for 15 miles for Applebee's.
I'm freaking out because I was hitting $30 a hour no problem before the new year. I can't get that working anywhere.
If this 50% for priority orders was actually worth it then you'd still see people dashing on bikes. There's no way those offers exist anymore.

They just started priority in my area yesterday and both today and yesterday I have met my daily goal in 5 hours or less. That hasn't been the case in a few months.
I know there's been many who've both agreed and disagreed with some of your advice and tips as well as strategies but one thing's for sure, you seem like a genuine guy who wants to help others and put good into the world. Really respect and appreciate that. I do doordash on and off depending on if work is slow and have always cherry picked but wondering if it might be worth it to go for priority access. Obviously every market is different but, in your honest opinion, do you see an increase in total pay with priority vs being more selective? Thanks again

It's frustrating bc I think they just randomly give it to people but everyone's always saying "get on the catering program and you'll make more." How?! How do you get on it bc I'd love to be a part of that program but it doesn't seem to be a program you can just sign up for?

I have a question to see if you’ve experienced this at all. I hustle, I work hard, I cleared $1100 last week then all the sudden come Monday I’m getting bad order after bad order for three days straight and I’m a top dasher. I usually don’t even get orders under like six or seven dollars but then three days straight I got horrible orders back to back. I had to decline so many orders that I dropped my rating and I had to start picking up bad orders just to get my ratings back up. Have you experienced this after a rly good week? Or am I crazy?
This has happened to me and another long time TD. Happened to me last month after several hours of good orders back to back and then wham! I quit early. Happened to me again this week, decided to ride it out and then make up later. After lunch rush my AR went from 77 to 51, now I am at 48.
@@evilmung yeah, the first day I just kind of blew it off that may be there just wasn’t any good orders but then after it happened three days straight I was like wait a minute. Somethings going on here. And when I say bad orders, I mean like $2.25 type of orders or six dollars to drive 15 miles type of orders, it was crazy.
Yea I’m in Seattle. Top dasher as well and I swear this is also happening to me! What is going on?? Can’t make money. Our traffic is as worse as LOS ANGELES. Anyone find out what’s happening?
@@MsSANDRA1024 I did try scheduling myself for the busy times to see if maybe I’m just coming in too late and there’s too many Dashers working, that does seem to help
You're not crazy, I'm TD in my market too and I go through these Roller Coaster types of things too, looks like a lot of others do as well-I think there are many reasons for this, one being oversaturated markets, one being BRAND NEW Dashers, and probably, (the MOST unfortunate), is a form of Regulation from the algorithm. It's a bit of a slap in the face for doing a bunch of work to earn the spot in the first place, I know someone mentioned instacart on down time(s), Good idea! I ALSO do Uber Eats so I've come to a point where I ONLY Dash during Peak Pay Hours (Uber Eats and/or Instacart virtually the entire other time I WOULD be Dashing)- PP= better ones too. I'm more inclined to take more orders, keeping my AR above 70-75 and obviously better pay. But I will say, before I started using this strategy, I would constantly dip below and above 70% AR and everytime I got 70+ the orders seemed amazing the instant it started.

Hey guys I would like to share a situation with you...So I started Dashing the very last week of September 2022 right and started out very, very slow to get a feel of things... By my calculations and the app I made just over $500...I get my 1099 from DD and it shows earnings of over 2k!!!...I expected a bit of a differential but not to the tune of $1,800... Has anyone else experienced this???
Yes, it happened to me. I made no where near as much as DD said I made to me that is suspect.
I be doing my thang in DownTown Chicago RiverNorth Area. I real life make $200 a Day at 8 hours easy. The People working in them Government Buildings be tipping like crazy. My biggest was “$100” and I was literally just clocking in on my first dump. Y’all gotta get out there For the Morning Peaks and Grind all the way to them AfterNoon and Sometimes Even Peaks. My Parents be telling me to get a Real Job and I just be Stacking my Money acting Broke, whole time I’m up a💰like a Mf getting ready to put down on 2 Box Trucks😂

High priority was absolute butt cheeks…the real way to make that big cash is follow the usual strategies, and being a part of the invite-only catering bag program…those catering bag orders come in clutch on those slow days

Bentley if you are a top Dasher you automatically have priority status top Dasher for 2 months now all you have to do is get a minimum of a 50% acceptance ready to be a top Dasher have a customer rating a 4.7 the minimum deliveries but really going to talk to Asher probably your whole time I don't know though it seems like it. A mymarket I don't have a choice I absolutely have to be a top Dasher or I won't receive any orders because everybody in my market is a top Dasher even though they don't deserve it cuz they don't follow the rules like using a hot bag properly
I've seen blue diamond/priority here for over a year, and as you know, "high-pay", could just be $1.00 more upon completion, or, $.50, even just $.25 additional. And, part of my interpretation is, "priority", translates to orders that have been repeatedly declined, and/or, are either already late or risking such. Yet, holes in that theory is that SO MANY orders ARE already late before acceptance.
*footnote* (it was revealed some time ago that one of the reasons why DD hides portions of pay is to combat, deture, or otherwise avoid cherry-picking. But, as we know from experience, and having been burned more than rewarded, it's better to outright decline upside-down offers. Yet, still we occasionally accept some marginally acceptable offers, 1.)Because of the area we'll be headed towards rather than where we are, and often, "following the app", has it's rewards. But, other times we're frustratingly crawling back to our origin-zones.
(I probably have a 2.), and, a 3.) but honestly better get on with my day, and "dash"!)
But, I do dash differently when I don't have to worry about my regular/w2 schedule. I'll go ahead and accept a few offers I would normally decline when I know I'm gonna be out here all day and possibly into the night., (especially weekends) Saturday mid-morning-into-afternoon can be gold, and of course Saturday dinners are usually awesome(!) But, there are certain days and times when it's usually better to be on other platforms/apps.
I truly wish I could do this full-time, but I've got family obligations met with health-insurance. I love most days I'm out dashing, and I hate my regular job, but the insurance and other benefits reign. All the self-insurance marketplace/programs are a sad, pathetic, ridiculous joke.

I'm in Miami and I don't make any real money being a dasher. I see other states people people making alot of money. I average only 12hr

@@TheChristafershawn what I’m saying is when 4 of my friends all sit together waiting on orders at times with all different dasher status if one of us gets an order and turns it down the order with go to each of us regardless if we are top dasher. I’m not sure it is worth taking all the crap $2.25 orders just to realize a cherry picker actually gets the same good and bad orders as the top dasher.
@@tattoosthriftingandcoffee2631 you don't have to take crap orders to be a top dasher, just realistic. My offers are consistently over 7 bucks, once in a while I get ones that are not worth it, and yes, those get declined.
@@carrinahanson9821 in order to be a top dasher you must meet certain criteria one being a high acceptance rate… and not all markets are consistent with $7 orders . I may get 5 $2 to $5 orders before I get a decent order and I will turn down all those low offers which makes my acceptance rate lower but if I was to take all those orders yes I would be a top dasher. But, I refuse to take those small orders from people who don’t value my time and service by not tipping or low ball tipping . I’m a cherry picker and it’s what works for me in my market. Ives been dashing for 3 years and make $120 to $200 a day so I’m good with the system I’ve got lol. I’m also certified for catering orders so that helps .
@@tattoosthriftingandcoffee2631 Yes, you have to meet certain criteria. I have worked in multiple markets as I've worked Door Dash while traveling. I've been dashing since 2017. I also make 100+ a day with my highest day being 275 dollars in a 5 hr period. I typically work 5-6 hr shifts, up to 30 hrs a week. I don't take low ball orders, and I rarely receive them. I'm realistic with my expectations, and I adhere to standards that I've set for myself. I am not catering certified.

Disappointed. Doesn't look like you did well, and I sure didn't yesterday. These "priority" orders were absolute crap after crap order. This and the whole customer might tip after drop-off seems like a way for DD to get us to take orders we wouldn't normally take.
