I am Saudi. I agree how the media (quite often) delivers wrong information. And I hate how the media portrays my country. A country of “oppressed women” and we are apparently either all oil rich in mansions or all living in tents and go around on camels. Smh 🤦🏻♀️. They just go for the extremes, I live in Jeddah and this video shows how life really is here, it’s just normal tbh. That’s why I agree with the girls quote.

Been watching your Saudi stuff. I've lived here for three years now (Eastern Province). I think you vloggers who are seeing Saudi for the first time are doing a great service. I've been all over the Kingdom and it's a fantastic land. But, what you all are really doing is letting the world know how great the people are. I am from the US and went to Saudi Arabia for work in 2016 before it was open to tourists. I, like you, was shocked at what I found. Great people, very kind, safe country with a lot of beauty. I went back a few times and each time I was amazed.

This series should be on national TV. It would open so many people's eyes to the truth about SA.
Why ? They did everything to demonize islam , muslims countries and every westerners into the trap and westerners seem to love haring muslims
In the US the media is still moderately attacking islam, in France a national debate sparked for weeks about banning hijab (I am speaking about the normal hijab, not the one covering the face) just because a hijab wearing woman went to school to attend the parents meeting. Even the president of France spoke about it. More than 80 debate were done on French TV to debate the ban of the hijab (in which ironically no hijabi woman were invited to present their view) and they didn't speak about the Orange suites who are protesting and burning stuff because apparently banning hijab is the priority for the president and not the social demands.

I lived and worked in Jeddah in 2000 & 2001 and again during 2004. Great city, I really enjoyed it. Superb diving in the Red Sea, no other dive boats on most of the reefs. I met my wife there, she was nursing at King Faisal hospital so Jeddah has a special place in my life.
Saudi is full of great people, and as a country is misunderstood by many Westerners. I encourage tourists to go now the opportunity is here, it’s a fascinating country full of contrasts

I lived in Northern Nigeria, which is Islamic, and I've visited several Islamic countries (Malaisa, Indonesia, Turkey, Egypt, S Thailand, etc.). And the hospitality was always first rate. And no one treated me bad because I'm American.

Im my field i am a “doctor” of nursing meaning i have a doctorate in nursing so if i taught in a university i would be Doctor Laila Abdul-Rahim (DNP~ doctor of nursing practice ) as opposed to Medical Doctor (MD) or doctor of osteopathic medicine (D.O.) as opposed to a PhD (like law or science or art or history)
The specification of the degree is usually made after the name in the US
Like in the hospital you would see “ Dr. Mike Smith (MD)”

I came across your vlogs and I have to say, I really appreciate what you've done here with Saudi Arabia. You've made me miss it but also really appreciate it and its people again!

@@phoenixalpha5789 not as bad! I’ve lived in both cities 2 years in Jeddah and 3 years in Miami! Jeddah is far safer than Miami plus there are no homeless people in Saudi Arabia! It’s mostly due to charities and strong family and community support.

Faisal it’s not only the Media, lets be fair here. The rules in Saudi Arabia have changed recently and still are in the process of changing. Plus, the country was sort of closed for foreigners from the West, mainly. Now, as the rules change and the country lets more people from around the world to come and see for themselves, we get to know you more. When we watch videos like Peter’s, we see ourselves that Saudi people are not some angry, nasty Jihadists, or Islamists, but normal and friendly people. I have a friend I had met online years ago who is Saudi and he had always wanted me to visit Jeddah. I was never really sure about it but I might consider it after watching your videos. Yes I am Saudi woman wearing Niqab (face cover) by my choice because it was optional to me , I raised up in aristocracy family my father was educated man who was working in Aramco 40 years ( may his soul in peace and heaven) , I am working in International schools and foreign students from all around the. World 🌎 the truth that most American people don’t know that The Media doesn’t reflect the true image about the Saudi citizens , but the most horrible point is that we as Saudis have to justify our identity and our perspectives to enhance our image to the world who showed us as criminals and bad people which IS NOT TRUR AT ALL as you seen and experienced ! And we stopped trying to show any one who we are ! Because as Muslims we respect diversity and other religions too and people in our country were extremely hospitable and kind with good intentions,, no doubt that saudi people is the most wonderful and friendly people inArabian Peninsula and other countries around realized that we reflects our ethics only 🙏🏻 a lot of Americans settled down in KSA to raised up their kids in a safe country no drugs no alcohol with supportive people all around , discipline life without discrimination 🌹🌹

My uncle worked in Jeddah in 1977, he went from Ireland as a plasterer and brought back the traditional Saudi headwear for me here in London. In 1980 when he relocated to Miami I wore it to keep the sun off as I was his "plaster's mate". No, not a great idea.......

Lol. regarding the Arab paying thing, I'm Egyptian and when I went to Belgium, I went to a restaurant with a friend, and I offered to pay, and he literally said: "Oh thank you!" and that's it. I mean yes, I wanted to pay, but I was at least expecting some resistance or verbal fight or him to disagree or something, until I would be able to convince him that I would pay but no he just said thank you lmao.
From that day on I realized I should not do that again in Europe, and just let everyone pay for what they ordered.
