I live next to these Hasidic community. once I ran out of gas in middle of the street, a chassid guy comes over and gives me the number of cahverim, a few minutes later they showed up with a gas tank, they did not let me do it myself! They put the gas in with a smile and nice attitude and they just made my day! Like angels❤

13 years ago I lost my then 5 year old son on an outing. I looked away for a few seconds when I realized he was gone. I started to panic when I couldn't find him in the shop. That meant that he could be anywhere in the street or in any of the shops lining the street. Of course the first call went to Chaverim. They dispatched all available volunteers due to the seriousness of this situation. They found my son in a little over 5 minutes which to me was an eternity. They gave him a toy to calm him down. I shudder what could have happened to my son without Chaverim

@Yahya Zolfiqar I'm not surprised of your ignorance that you would comment on that without checking your sources.
Chaverim of Brooklyn was founded shortly after the September 11 attacks in September of 2001. Chaveirim of upstate NY was founded in 1999.
I would suggest you try it yourself. Then get back to me and tell me if they assisted you or not
Accidents happen every day and there is a reason they are called accidents. Furthermore, the driver jumped out of his car and attempted to assist the boy but was blocked and attacked by a mob. What followed were several days of riots where a man was killed and many others injured. They also destroyed many small businesses. The police were afraid to intervene.
This was not the first time that jews were attacked causing many to flee the neighborhood out of fear for their safety.

Would you blame black people for being enslaved? And whose fault is it that women have been mistreated since the beginning of time? Are you going to blame them too?

I have to be honest Peter, your videos on Jewish community and people have given me so much knowledge on Jewish people and has washed out all my ignorant judgment and bias opinions i had of them growing up to this day. I am so beyond shocked with the humbleness and how giving they are as a community. Jewish community by far has a strong solid foundation in their religion and community I've witness by far and I am a Muslim who is applauding them. I wish people knew true Jewish people and community instead do what the media has taught us. Not one not two but 10 guys showed up to help. I called for them to put my spare tire on so I can get to the nearest tire shop. It took my a few minutes to realize what they were actually doing. They inspected the tire to locate the problem and fix it if they caN. They found a hole, plugged it and saved me 300$ on a new tire. I thanked them and asked how to repay them, could I give them a tip. They all ran out of there faster thaN I could blink. They wanted no recognition or reward whatsoever.

While this might seem a very silly question, it's a serious one; can you actually become a member of the Chaverim if you're *not* Jewish? You help everybody out regardless of their faith, would you let others not of your faith, help you as an organisation out?

    • @MosheKatz
      @MosheKatz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

@@eddief32 I think that will depend on where you are. Some of the Hasidic communities will be hesitant to open up to outsiders because they believe that most of their callers will be uncomfortable with non-Hasidic help. In general, Hasidic communities are fairly insular and they might be concerned about things like modest dress, tattoos, etc. On the other hand, some communities would be happy to get non-Jewish help for the situations that might require someone to work on the Sabbath or a holiday. If you live in an area where Chaverim is active and you want to help out, give them a call and ask them.

I had a similar story in Monsey. My kids were asleep. We were after a long flight. I locked myself out by mistake. My phone was inside too. So I went into a local store, borrowed a phone and called Chaverim.
Almost instantly, a young man with an SUV (and his kids inside!) arrived. He jumps out with this long thin piece of metal and proceeds to push it through the door.
While I'm watching him, more and more members kept arriving until the door was open.
The entire Saga took no more than 4 minutes. Perhaps even less. I was in shock! They are just amazing!

Lakewood, Ocean County is a very very large community of Hasedic people. I was installing a traffic signal and there was a string tied around a stop sign. The string surrounded the entire property. A large apartment complex. I was told by the people there that I needed to put the string back up. I told them the plans called for the removal of the stop sign. A large group of Jewish men, I am assuming important people, came out and we devised a way to put the string back up. Some things I dont understand but whatever. Everyone has their superstitions. Another thing I noticed was that it doesnt seem that the children go to school. It was in the Fall and all school age children would stand outside, a little to close for my comfort, and watch us dig all day. They wouldnt say anything, just stood there and stared. Strange.

And it doesn't matter why you are calling or for whom (they have helped my non-Jewish housekeeper twice for free. No questions asked!). And places like Camp Simcha are wonderful organizations! I can’t thank God, you, or the Hasidic community enough for opening my eyes, enlightening me, and inspiring me. I think the Chaverim should be universal everywhere around the world despite cultural or religious differences. The Chaverim is such an amazing organization and a true display of what God means by “love thy neighbor”. I hope people, religious or not, take the concept of the Chaverim and apply it to their own communities. This is so beautiful and so necessary.

I'm from Queens NY, & have seen the Hasids in Brooklyn- Borough Park, Williamsburg, Crown Heights..different sects, but it really is fascinating, as an outsider, to see how they live & operate as a community.. I used to not understand their culture, & think they were unfriendly, & unwelcoming..I came to realize they just stick with their own.. & that the men don't socialize with the women as other cultures do.. it's just who they are, & I've come to respect it..

This is 100% legit. I live in midwood Brooklyn nd have used them 3x thus far this past yr alone. They saved me big time. Car stopped working, couldnt turn on and the wheel locked. They came within minutes and helped for free.
They are Amazing. Rlly uplifting organization. Btw this is one of many organizations within the Jewish community that is beyond amazing. We have "gemachs" and community organizations for every possible thing. Clothing, food, furniture, school funding, engagement help, wedding help, aides for the elderly, visitors for those who r sick nd/or elderly to keep their spirits up, table and chair organizations to borrow for occasions, glassware nd silverware organizations to also borrow for occasions, wedding dresses, bridal party gowns organizations...and way way more. Its rlly amazing. I think if you delve deeper into these various organizations you will be shocked at its kindness. It's why we choose to live together. Its not just a neighborhood it's a community of people that help uplift you in good times and bad.
Hope this gives you some deeper understanding about the jews. For further questions please feel free to ask.
