I love these videos so much cause I feel like I’m taking a class for dragon ball. Seriously I feel like one of the main reasons why I still love this mess of a series is when folks like Danny and Jordon teach me deeper things from within it and it ALWAYS fascinates me. Dragon ball is always great when its not just focused on the saiyans and thier lores,hopefully Frieza gets something similar like about hos original race.
I'm not sure why people are upset about the wish. Piccolo has a connection with the earth dragon and Piccolo-Daimao was known for wanting to abuse the dragon balls, like he did to regain his original power. Piccolo using the DB's to achieve a new power feels more natural than anyone else imo.

It’s because this would be the third time where someone wished for power (Granolah, Elec wishing power for Gas, and now Piccolo). I do like it better for Piccolo since it does make more sense due to his connection with the Dragon Balls.

So just a quick thought, you could say the “peak” potential of a Namakian’s power is symbolized by the Dragonballs as they are one of the strongest objects in the universe. So it makes sense why Piccolo’s strongest form, this Super Namekian, would be orange as the Dragonballs (Namekian’s strongest creation) are also orange.

ya it was kinda cheap to do that to the nameks. dragonballs was something special to their race n now its not even originally theirs.

The Namekians have so much potential lore to explore. I mean they knew about the super saiyan god ritual and not to mention THEY were the ones that found the ORIGINAL SUPER DRAGONBALLS and shaved them down to their size to make wishes. That’s one hell of a feat if you ask me.. looks like the Namekians have been around for a hell of a long time.
Yep, the namekians are pure magic basically, very highly advanced energy work. So im' ok with piccolo getting his power magically by unlocking his inner potential.
I just find it awesome that Shenron calls Piccolo as Piccolo-sama. I think his form should be named as Dragon Warrior Piccolo because him, Nail and Kami are a combination of the Dragon and Warrior clan.
Thank you for pointing out that Piccolo and Gohan have “brand new forms” and still have yet to train in them and hone/perfect them. Some people seem to think that what they saw in Super Hero is the pinnacle of these two’s power levels. I’m over here like, there’s no way, this is just a new beginning where Piccolo and Gohan start taking over as the front-runners, I bet.
I'm hoping Piccolo's Orange form is sort of like Rob Lucci's (from One Piece) Sketch form, where, when perfected, he condenses all of his muscle mass into a lean and slick form; thus giving himself and a ridiculous power boost.

Not gonna lie.. I laughed.
To me Piccolo was easily the most deserving character in the entire series to get a new form and he got 2. I absolutely love Piccolo and him getting the power ups through wishes makes a lot of sense due to his connections to Shenron. I'm pretty sure that a certain power level was required to wish for it otherwise he could have done it way earlier. Piccolo literally always trained so him getting so much stronger now is only logical to me. Also both of the forms look really good especially Orange Piccolo and the tree symbol on the back makes it even cooler

Finally I’m seeing more vegeta fans . Vegeta always does the hard work then goku swoops in when enemy already drained and weak . My first is vegeta and jiren then hit broly goku frieza super 17

@@laughingoutloud502 I wouldn’t say goku comes in when they’re weak, but I do agree vegeta should be wayyyyyyyy stronger considering all the intense training he’s been through. Vegeta was training and 450 times normal gravity and getting shot by lasers and having to dodge and actually be precise enough to shut them off instead of just easily destroying them. So vegetas control should have already been far beyond goku let alone god vegeta.
Piccolo/Kami is my favourite character too because of his powerful story of self-acceptance and redemption. The end of the Piccolo Jr. saga was essentially a metaphor for a suicidal man who saw nothing but his worst, rescued by friends who saw his best. For all that he took from Earth, he gave back even more with the Dragon Balls. Like him, we are defined by our greatest moments as much as our lowest; if we can be villains, so too can we be heroes.
This in itself should give piccolo his own movie
The whole Orange Piccolo thing could be a way to bring Slug back into the picture as a bad guy similar to how they brought Broly back, I hope they do that, because I would like to see more back story on all of this.
I loved the Lord Slug movie. But also I think it was awesome for the music they had in the movie. I wish they would do more hard rock in Super.

Piccolo and Gohan’s relationship is one of my favorite parts of DBZ, and I love that Pan is already connecting with him the same way

I love the fact piccolo has become relevant again. I really hope that there’s a back story to the form, and that they can continue to keep him relevant throughout the series! Dragon ball has a real problem with keeping characters relevant, I’m hoping they’re trying to fix that
I know Bleach was very good at keeping all it's original characters relevant and giving them important fights. One thing that made DragonBall unique was the introducing characters in pairs. But that made it hard for keeping that cast relevant

I think this movie was important for completing the arc of Piccolo and Gohan. The entire reason Piccolo kidnapped Gohan as a boy was that he saw how freakishly powerful Gohan was (despite having zero training), and he knew that power would be necessary to protect earth. He tried his best to get Gohan to tap into that raw power through survival in the wilderness and then brutal training, and while all of that helped to make him stronger, the real power is generated by strong emotion. Piccolo's sacrifice to save Gohan from Nappa was certainly a touching moment, but Gohan's history with Piccolo was still relatively short at that point. By the time Cell is around, Gohan has bonded enough with Piccolo that he prefers Piccolo's clothes. By the time of this new movie, Piccolo is family to Gohan. Because of their bond is so strong, Piccolo has finally achieved his original goal. Together they will always be able to protect earth because if they can't win a fight the normal way, Piccolo can always sacrifice himself to trigger Gohan's true power. And the movie prices Piccolo doesn't even have to die in the process for it to work.
So basically he abused a child and later traumatized an adult because he wanted to make him extremely angry. Great person no cap

I’m just going to paint the one I have orange. Just like how I painted a super Saiyan Goku blue.
They need to explain more about the Namekian book of legends. Everything that's written in it. Who actually wrote it (I know a Namek) or maybe Zalama/Zarama told them what to put in it. I want the history of it exploried more in the manga and anime.
That's probably coming. The nameless namakian most def is in that book. Piccolo himself may search it out
Piccolo is my favorite character. So it was awesome to see him achieve a new form and power up.
Let's be honest, Piccolo deserved this power up, he is the one of the best if not the best Strategist of the DB fighters.
There was also good foreshadowing on this when Gohan was trying to show Piccolo his research on insects that transform

I don't actually believe that Toriyama grabbed so much from Journey to the west other than maybe a few concepts and some inspiration and references that prevailed during the first Dragon Ball and maybe the very first portion of Z
every series had a sprinkle of journey to the west, even GT, ssj4 was probably the closest goku got to looking like wukong
Piccolo wasn't nameless. He's so old he cannot remember his name. The only Namekian he can remember is the word 'Pic- colo' which means 'another world' and was the command used to open the doorway in his spaceship. All the other Namekian words, including his own name has long since been forgotten.

The Nameless Namekian was nameless because his name was lost to time. It's also less that it was forgotten due to age, but rather because he was very young when he left Namek, he had no others who knew his name (even Grand Elder seemed to have forgotten), and he suffered a fair amount of PTSD, likely both from his early experiences on Earth and being nearly completely dissociated from his home and people, with this connection only being maintained in the subconscious act of creating dragon balls and remembering his native language. And no, Kami knowing the language isn't a plothole since the language was instinctual and Kami even taught Mr. Popo, who also taught Bulma so she and Dr. Briefs could fix the ship.
In any case, most things that have been historically called nameless aren't called as such because they never had names, but rather they were forgotten or unable to be identified by name for some reason so calling him the Nameless Namekian works because he effectively had no name at the time and why it was so easy to go by the name Piccolo after the merger.

There’s always the chance of him maybe continuing to fuse with other namekian warriors such as the ones from universe 6 and boosting his power in his orange form to insane heights.
The nameless super namek returns I hope to god he is utilised in the new DBS anime.
Piccolo fusing with the other namekians is akin to wukong absorbing his duplicates back into his own body.
For once I'd like to see an off character like Piccolo get the W without Goku or Vegetas help.

I screamed when orange piccolo showed up. What a moment years in the making..I loved the namekian/dragon ball connections. It was, imo, one of the most understandable and intelligent transformations based on past lore.

Orange Piccolo was a pleasant surprise! I really like Piccolo more or less becoming the big beefy "tank" with regeneration powers.
Ultra Instinct being the 'speedy' form. Just don't get hit, dodge all the attacks, then smack em back before they realise what you've done.
Ultra Ego is just pure power. Take the damage you opponent gives and just deal double the damage back in an all out slug fest. Raw DPS.

I’m curious I wonder if piccolo could have actually reached this form on his own at some point? Or was it only able to be obtained from the dragon?
I’m guessing because the Dragon, Shenron, was initially formed by Kami, then the Dragon giving Piccolo that power up is no different from the Creation of the dragon

It seems like this would have been a namekian form lost to time, only know by the gods, similar to super Saiyan god. I don't think he would of known this form existed untill shenon unlocked it for him.

Orange Piccolo being the combined powers of the Warrior and Dragon Clans. The natural form of the Namekian Progenitor before his offspring were divided into clans.
Orange Piccolo is literally the stupidest sounding name in Dragonball. The writers aren't even trying at this point.
They stopped trying when the next step from Super Saiyan was Super Saiyan 2. Not sure why you think that's ok yet Orange Piccolo is terrible. (For what it's worth, I wish he was given a better name too. Something like Piccolo-Ascended)

This is a great insight in to one of my favorite characters piccolo. Along with gohan being my all time favorite, piccolo was always second because of the bond that they shared. This is already known but goku black is 100% the six eared Macaque reference and all. Great video and insight on journey to the west…keep em coming.

Heres what a lot people dont realize. Ultimate piccolo and Ultimate gohan have slight differences from their normal forms. But when they take it to another level from their Ultimate form their eyes went red. I wish it was called beast piccolo. Because he literally looks like a beast. And if you combined orange piccolo and beast gohan you get that faade ssj 10 pic from way back in the day. Which also looks like a beast

You mean SSJ 5?... Why does everybody keep calling it SSJ 10? It comes right after SSJ 4, that was the whole plot of the form. Toyotaro made it, and even drew inspiration from it later. In my opinion Beast Gohan, Orange Piccolo and more only exist, because of SSJ 5, a fan made form.

See, when I heard Piccolo had a new form, I thought he would look more like Shenron. So he would have a dragon-like transformation.
piccolo is my favorite character from dragonball so its nice to see him finally get a power up (kind of hoping we get that form in dragonball xenoverse 2) but there is something ive been wondering, why no kids? he clearly has some paternal instincts with how much he takes care of gohan and now pan so why hasnt he started his own namekian family especially since all he has to do is spit out an egg to make a kid so its not like he has to look for a spouse
I know it’ll never happen, but I really want to see Orange Piccolo be the one to beat Black Frieza.
He just one shotted a freshly healed TUI Goku and Ultra Ego Vegeta with one punch, at the exact same time... no way Piccolo can compete, he's not even as strong as 'Beast' Gohan... it's great he's relevant again (atleast in the movie, idk if it'll carry on to the manga or anime) and got a new form, but he's not on their level... Even if he gets a perfected orange form, he can't hang with TUI goku. Even perfected Blue would be a very difficult challenge for Piccolo... and 'Beast' Gohan isn't on TUI goku or Ultra Ego Vegeta's level either, it just doesn't make sense

I just think it would be funny for the writers to have piccolo come in and wreck frieza. Can't lie when they first sold piccolo's form I was just turning gold like a Super Saiyan I was pissed and said it's lazy I'm not respecting it then they gave him the orange form it's growing on me it fits him
To be honest giving Piccolo a transformation is the only way he can hope to become relevant again
However I'd prefer it if instead of Shenlong unlocking the transformation I'd prefer it if we got a scene where Nail and Kami souls who should be deep inside Piccolo's body helped him unlock his full potential and become the First True Super Namekian

Piccolo is an OG, he deserves this power up
The evil kings are an archetype in any classic literature but in Piccolo's case hes also straigh from Dragon Quest. If you read Piccolo's arc after playing the classic DQ games the inspiration REALLY shows, its quite straigh forward, Piccolo is based on the early Demon Kings from these games, that Toryama ALSO designed and inspired all of japanese pop culture since the 80s

Piccolo has been my top 4 characters in all of Dragon ball....
specifically Dragon ball Z...
which I didn't follow any of dragon ball before Dragonball Z.
but when after the understanding of the fued between Goku and the spawn of "King Piccolo demon king" from the original DB story... it hit me hard how Goku and Piccolo had to work together to defeat Radditz... it was amazing to learn that even though Piccolo spawn revelled in the fact that he got to kill Goku... but because Goku had to sacrifice himself to achieve that goal.... THAT is the precise single catalyst in why Piccolo gave ultimate respect to Goku for doing so was able to allow them to beat Radditz... that Piccolo went that much further to train his son out of the pure respect that Piccolo gave Goku for sacrificing his own life to allow themselves to save the entire world... because if that didn't happen... everyone would have been dead... and thus everything would have been gone due to the power of the Saiyan threat...
which this particularly I immediately loved the character of Piccolo...
I’m so glad piccolo and gohan are finally relevant again. Piccolo being on par with blue is so dope. He’s had so much wasted potential. Idk why toriyama is so obsessed with goku. Let other characters win battles. Look at what tabata does with black clover.
