In a way, it’s almost like Trunks got a form that leans more into his Saiyan side (by way of Supreme Kai training) while Gohan got a form that leans more into his human side (by way of Supreme Kai training). Goku has chosen the power of the angels, Vegeta has chosen the power of the gods of destruction, and their boys have chosen the power of the supreme kais. That’s neatly poetic.

I hope Beast Gohan and Orange Piccolo are not just one shot transformations. The 2 seemed surprised when they turned back into their base form as if it was not intentional. Kind of like ultra instinct before the Moro arc.
Piccolo tapped into his Orange form 2 times, the second being when Cell max was about to step on a deceased Gamma 2. As for Gohan, i personally would like if Gohan can't tap at it at first, but has to train constantly and get mad to unleash that power
Gohan and Broly are two beings that always have us curious of how high they can go if they truly dedicate themselves like Goku and Vegeta. This transformation is incredible but I still feel 1 year of an adult Gohan in the time chamber and 1 year of Broly on yardrat mastering energy control would be the emergence of both the unstoppable force and the unmovable being
@@damariannmbati2598 Broly was still putting up at least some kind of fight against Gogeta Blue. Gohan / Broly fusion that combines Beast with Berserker would SHIT on Gogeta lmao. Brohan or Groly would break Universe 7.
I still want a broly/Gohan fusion. I mean it makes sense, goku has vegeta; Goten has Trunks. I feel like Gohan high potential mixed with brolys seemingly limitless power and combined with Gohan rage boost + Broly's adaptive rage boost. That's potential for a dangerous sayian. ( and yes I will call him Brohan)
Ironically, this is a bit of an issue when it comes to giving everyone distinct paths: Broly and Gohan have basically been sharing a path the whole time. I'd be more interested in seeing how they can diverge before seeing them merge.
I like the idea of Gohan normally being someone who comes off as a weakling and not someone you would take as threat but make him angry and thats when he becomes a beast.

I've always thought of gohan's beast form as a transformation that combined the power of super sayain and potential unleashed with extensive training, and maybe the reason his hair gets so long and tall is because it's almost like he's going super sayain 3 but with the potential unleashed.
To me it's like if Mystic Gohan is SSJ1 with Supreme Kai Ki and Beast Gohan is SSJ2 with Supreme Kai ki. Same way SSJB is SSJ1 but with God Ki. SSJ3 seems to only be achieved in the AfterLife or the Time Chamber like in a 4D dimension and not in a 3D dimension. Atleast those are my 3am Theories.
@@Haaton-of-the-Basement *smiles warmly, hugs and shakes her head* A pleasure to read your 3 AM theories. Something that... *muses.... oh and hey I'm drunk sorry!* interests me greatly is that even the Gohan Beast transformation was predicated by Piccolo's "death," and the variations we see during the ResF (mangavanime) and Gohan's reaction.... ...we're being shown that these people VERY genuinely know and are aware of the fact that "oh hey, you died yeah that sucks, you get a sundae courtesy of Radditz on your next trip etc." ..........but the issue isn't that they're lost and gone forever like death normally works. The real issue for these people is the pain they've been caused, that the experience isn't a vacation and "totally cool coz I know you'll be right back next week bro!" *looks down at her feet* This isn't exactly here or there I guess, just was something that's been stuck in my head for a long time. Someone I know asked my pastor "If God knew Jesus was going to just come back to life, what was sacrificed?" Real parents, real friends... you are going to sit there and watch your friend burn alive in agony and be like "It's fine it's a free respawn bro!" Thanks for letting me talk with you. Honestly, despite the anime's (obvious) canon/timeline issues for Goku in otherworld, I think the post Z era really handles SS3 quite well. It's a *MASSIVE* power boost, but it's almost like it's not "your's" .....the power's there, but you are not the deciding factor. Hell the entire transition to Super (to ME) embodies this concept. These folk are INSANELY powerful. I.... heh. I used to be a martial artist before my body gave out, and my brother (a teacher) was fifth in the world heavy weight "jiujutsu" competitor. At a year I won't say. And I'm a five foot three woman! I can do stuff! I can do stuff...... Sorry, I'm drunk and very sick, and quite tired. Nothing you said is wrong to me. The transformations lean more onto the Chi/Qi/Ki aspect of "what you are," the movement that makes you "you," while not directly structurally telling you that the "what" isn't the "who." Hopefully they believe you're at a point where your desire to learn exists, questions exist, and maybe we need to look into you a handful longer for raisins. I love raisins.
The power of Super Saiyan is what Potential Unleashed releases. Given Toriyama's description, Gohan Beast is more than likely just a deeper potential within Gohan.
Xenoverse 2 (while non-canon) never allows features that are not possible for certain characters. By giving the Beast form to Earthlings, Namekians, etc, they confirmed that Beast has nothing to do with Saiyan heritage.
Like I said in a review I did on the movie, Gohan Beast can be explained like this: In the Cell Games Gohan used his rage to push himself into Super Saiyan 2. Gohan Beast is basically Gohan using his rage to unlock further depths of his hidden potential, think of it as his rage pushing his ultimate form to its next level, and that level is Gohan Beast.
@@emmanuelgutierrez8616 He tapped into SSJ2 in the time chamber but he couldn’t maintain it. Gohan didn’t even understand what he was doing when that happened, but Goku did. It wasn’t until the Cell Games he was able to maintain it via a big enough burst of rage.
Honestly that's my favorite explanation because I play dragon Ball xenoverse 2 and in the game other races besides sayians can use beast and this explanation perfectly explains what beast is because for the longest time I just thought it was potential unleashed mixed with super Saiyan 2
This was almost what my theory as to what Gohan Beast is. You got Gohan with his Ultimate form, which draws out all his latent potential and all the power of his other transformations without the downsides of transforming into them, but not what he gets from his rage boosts; because that's not a power-up, but rather him having mental barriers, limiters that - whether consciously or subconsciously - stop him from accessing that power because of his nature, in that he doesn't want to hurt or kill others. Gohan Beast is him getting so angry, so furious that it awakens the raging beast inside, tearing down those mental barriers - those limiters he has in place and letting him access all his power, which is then being drawn out with his Ultimate form.
The thing I thought of after watching dbssh a few times was like the initial ultimate form mirrored Gohan's ssj2 first transformation, ungodly power with arrogance to match causing failure, but when he went beast mode it was similar to his initial rage state of just destroy the threat. His ssj2 was a consequence of being with Goku that long where he was still just playing with his weaker opponent, same with the ultimate form. The beast mode was him reliving the perfect cell fight and his mistakes along with ultimate vs super Buu, the culmination of trauma he refuses to relive where super Goku and even Buu saga Goku just didn't learn from his mistakes and Gohan is too smart to make the same mistake after being shown his hubris twice and weakness at not training because "dad and Vegeta can handle anything that comes our way" mentality. I hope we see in the future, Gohan actually keeps training and even takes up the offer to train with Goku and Vegeta a bit, along with Broly and maybe make a new friend in Broly since they are very similar
Gohan achieved his previously stated goal of achieving an ultimate form that no saiyan has ever achieved before, just not in the way that most people expected him to.
It’s still such an asspull of a transformation imo… He goes from barely trained to stronger than Goku within minutes… At least in the Cell arc he has serious training alongside his latent potential to justify him being the strongest…
@Roberto The Super Mutant Not true at all… Goku had to train under extreme conditions to achieve Super Saiyan. If he didn’t train the way he did he would’ve gotten himself defeated on Namek. Yeah it was triggered by rage but I highly doubt he would’ve been able to transform without proper training. Same with Super Saiyan 2 for both Gohan and Goku. Super Saiyan 3 was a form he trained so hard for, initially his mortal body was very limited in its use and he stated he could only effectively transform in his heavenly body. SSJG was kind of an asspull as well with this ritual and all but his blue form is definitely down to hard training, both physically and mentally. Same goes for UI
@@JayJay5244 Yeah, even if the reveal of SSB is incredibly underwhelming and out of left field. It’s gotten some explaination that it was due to training the god form enough to go super saiyan on top of it.
@Roberto The Super Mutant For me, the super saiyan form has own levels (SSJ1, Grade 2, 3, SSJ2 and etc) but each of them, can be obtained through certain conditions, (mostly physical conditions which you get them through training) mostly the rage are used as activation of the form itself... Since if the saiyan have the strength to transform but dont know the form nor have will for it, then their emotions are the alternatives to trigger the form (mostly happen for their first time transforming) Plus after Frieza arc when Super Saiyan became a thing, the writers made the form itself has ascensions/next stages to it which achieved through mastering the form, like the SSJ Grade 4 or Mastered SSJ and seeking deeper power within the form itself then thats where SSJ2 came along and further on, but they're still both super saiyan forms... It became has own variations
@@JayJay5244"asspull" as you put it is literally gohan's character he's been doing it since the 1st episode of z and only trained seriously once that's why he sucks
@@joeysullivanTM I remember SSJ God getting some flack because it was basically just a recolor instead of what everyone wanted... Which was essentially SSJ4 for no particular reason. So, what happens next? Next form is basically a recolored version of SSJ. Beast Gohan is clearly making fun to how back then SSJ and SSJ 2 would seemingly give the characters more hair than what they actually have. Biggest example of this is Goku in namek having what looks to be a lion's mane for hair when he went SSj for the first time. And SSJ 2 Gohan during the Cell games where his hair clearly grew double of what it was in his regular SSj form. For me best Toriyama is Toriyama when he's making fun of himself.
After thinking on it, I view this form as the true personification of Gohan’s hidden abilities. It was hinted at in the anime where Gohan tells Goku that he’s hoping to one day achieve his own level of power. The form having his ssj2 hair is an homage to Gohan’s biggest rage-moment during the Cell Games.
But the issue with it being inspired by SSJ2 makes it feel like they’re just trying to bank of nostalgia to cover up for the loose writing for how he achieved the transformation in the first place.
@@frenchfriedbagel7035 that is exactly it, they literally just took that bit of him transforming from the cell saga added Abit of spin to it and called it a new scene and transformation...oh but no the hairs longer and its white with red eyes! Not ssj2!!! I love the form dont get me wrong but it really came out of nowhere. I can't remember if piccolo died but I guess him nearly dying would make him angry since his seen it twice already
Everyone seems to forget how amazing Gohan was in the TOP, but even before then, when he had his spar against Goku, we got a true taste of how far Gohan had come. Training for the Tournament of Power should hopefully have been the wake up call Gohan needed, and I hope to see more from him in the future.
Only problem i have is how calmly he "tamed the beast" transformation. All felt it hard to hold on the new forms, but he was like no problem. The Special beam cannon made me not care about anything else, that was the most epic thing we ever seen.
When I first saw the movie, I felt like the transformation was simply him using Ultimate as a base, then transforming into Beast (like going Super Saiyan from base). The rage boost is too similar to ignore.
to me Gohan Beast is the manifestation of the saying 'Demons run when a good man goes to war' he will do everything he can to avoid the fight, avoid the death, but if you ignore his pleas to stop, you will get exactly what you asked for
I always love how characters are going through their own path to achieve higher power/transformation. It’s fun to see characters having their own unique form, broly having his iconic form (as a homage to his design, but still suitable to him), gohan having his beast form giving off the feel like when he first went ssj2, goku going through his own training with an angel (albeit he has two variations, one which is suitable for him, and the other being his best version), piccolo accessing two new forms (although he had to wish for it, but regardless, he’s catching up at the very least), his power awakening form (which could be comparable to the god or blue form of goku), and then accessing his orange form which was an extra given by shenron (which I thought was cool, and I like how the form seems like a homage to the dragon balls itself, the red eyes being the star, and the orange color of the dragon balls), and lastly Vegeta going through his ultra ego form which suits his nature of how he is whenever he’s competitive with goku or his opponents, Albeit he can get carried away with it. But overall, I hope we see more characters discovering their own form since it would get annoying seeing some characters following the same path (the ssj form itself being referred by Vegeta as a bargain sale).
I like to imagine Gohan Beast is just Gohan finally letting go of any inhibitions he has about fighting. It’s a well known fact that as a person he isn’t a fighter and only participates in battles because he has to, so it makes to me that when he’s fighting a small portion of him still reluctant to truly go all out. Even when facing against the scummiest of people I believe Gohan’s soul just isn’t in it despite it appearing like it is. However, the moment he sees an injustice happen or a loved one in peril his mind becomes so focused on it that he fully dedicates himself in a fight until he snaps back(like when he was a child) or wins(SSJ2 and Beast). Another theory I’ve recently come up with for Beast is Gohan’s unique physiology. He may not be the only saiyan-human hybrid but he is the only one to ever been born with a tail. Unlike Goten, Trunks, Pan, or Bulla who were born without one Gohan’s unique in the fact that he did which might explain why he’s the only one to exhibit massive power ups when he becomes angry. It’s entirely possible the beastly awakenings he had throughout his life is him tapping into the primal power that is the Oozaru inherent in all full blooded saiyans but tempered by his human side . Essentially, Beast Gohan is the perfect manifestation of power a saiyan-human hybrid can have. But that’s just a theory
I completely agree although I think this transformation has to do with him tapping into God Ki from the ritual and both of the unlockings he has had overtime. It's him finally embracing what he is so reluctant on releasing.
I am SO GLAD you added the portion about his powers being unlocked as a boy but that potential was still growing as he matured. The thing people don't seem to understand is, at least the way I see it anyway, is that when Gohan had his powers unlocked by Guru, his potential at that time became his base. So of course, a fighter still has potential beyond their base state of being. Gohan's anger always increased his powers until he was finally able to control it and harness it to his full potential against Cell. That basically became his new base level. I believe he could have kept his Ultimate form that he was given by Old Kai if he would have trained and worked on maintaining it, but we know what path he took, unfortunately. At least that's the way I view his powers/potential.
Unleashed potential is not a kai technique. Even unleashing someone potential isn't really either. The elder kai gained the ability from a potara fusion with a witch. So therefore a magic technique.
The way it works- something Geekdom doesn't understand - is that Saichoro unlocks the recipient's potential. That releases any power they should have now, and sets them up for a relatively easy future if they put in some work because there are no longer any limits they need to break. There's a reason Piccolo fell behind Goku and Vegeta even though the Nameless Namekian has far more potential than either, and it's because Saiyans have a racial hax to blast through their limits far more easily than anyone else in the heat of intense battle. What Elder Kai granted Gohan was the ability to Unleash his potential. That's different, it bypasses the effort entirely.
Wish we could just get a chapter of Goku and Gohan sparring in the hyperbolic time chapter or just some closed off space where they can't destroy everything lol
Gohan Beast explained. The creators wanted to bring back the awesomeness of Super Saiyan 2 Gohan so they give Gohan a transformation that looks almost identical to Super Saiyan 2 Gohan.
I like how Gohan basically represents, the nice guy that snaps. Some people can relate to that mindset. Gohan's basically the incarnation of *Fuck Around and Find Out*
I absolutely love the direction Dragon Ball is going, with each of our Saiyan main characters taking a different path to unlock their highest potential. UI Goku, UE Vegeta, Rage Trunks, and now Beast Gohan. We NEED a tournament of power part 2 with all of these new transformations!
Gohan, if he trained, would literally be a beast amongst mortals so I absolutely love the name of this form. I pre-ordered the blu-ray for this and am so hyped to see it again, me and the boys were legit standing in theatres on the first watch. Gohan the GOAT
I just watched this last night. It was really dope and I love how they go all out with the action. It was funny how Piccolo used Pan against him to bring out all his power. I do wish Cell Max was more of the original Cell than this big monster.
Oh my god, i never noticed about the ki color he released when he was powering up in front of Elder Kai after he tap into his potential. I guess it always makes sense, in the long run of his character journey has a hybrid saiyan trying to tap into his full potential because he could do it but just wasn't mentally ready yet. Beast Gohan was a working in progress looking at now. Like, a canvas for rage because it rage was always the factor for him to be stronger. The good nature, humbleness in the beggining, from being just a child wasn't letting him unleash it but he ended up unleashing. Excelent video, Geekdom! i honestly would love to see how Beast Gohan would fair agaisnt any GoD since it could be close but i think everyone wants to see first how he might act agaisnt Frieza.
@Marthouis Mcmiller The form wasn't inspired by it. Toriyama usually ignores the anime stuff and probably doesn't even watch the whole show. The only thing that was probably inspired was the aura, but not the form itself. That part in the Super manga of UI Goku and UE Vegeta powering up with their auras together looks exactly like Beast Gohan's aura also. This could just be a thing of unintentionally looking the same.
GIVING EACH FIGHTER THEIR OWN POWER UP TRANSFORMATION IS AMAZING GOHAN BEAST IS A GREAT FORM FOR GOHAN I LIKE USUNG GOHAN BEAST IN DRAGON BALL LEGENDS VIDEO GAME VERRY POWERFULL
If you think about it, calling the new form “beast” is very on point. Gohan is the most potent hybrid but he is also the most contrast in nature. The others are more human than saiyan mentally but for Gohan you see an almost split persona at times. He’s normally very passive (aka Human) but when he’s triggered or first experiencing a new form/power he becomes as ruthless or brutal as a saiyan if not more so because he’s far more emotional than a saiyan.
I 💯% agree. Cause I happen to love both Beast Gohan & Orange Piccolo a lot. And I also hope they both get a proper fighting role, so that they can test out their forms more in the future as well.
Yea I hope we get a couple episodes of a fight with it so that a full moveset can be carved out for the video games. I would have loved to play him in fighterz
S-cells just sounds like Toriyama watched the Star Wars prequel movies and decided to use a similar idea to what gives people the ability to use the force.
The Dragon Ball manga ended 5 years before Phantom Menace came out (1995 and 1999), but yeah, it cheapens the magic and drama and mystery in the exact same way
Gohan and DBS: Broly are similar in a way, they are so d*** strong they have transformations and what comes along with those Transformations is pure range combined with it... that's pretty scary.
4:00 on the topic of each character going off and getting their own respective new forms. I really hope they pull like an Avengers assemble type thing in the future. That would be just AMAZING AF
This is what I kept talking about, people kept saying anyone can get the beast form but fail to realize that this form is exclusive to Gohan also I always seen it as an evolution from ultimate Gohan but with hybrids and not any one else also deals with rage
With potential unleashed being magic that allows someone with massive power reserves to use that power in base form, it seems like beast is just a limit-breaking form beyond super saiyan. Pretty much ssj5, which is cool considering it's appearance
I feel like Gohan was unknowingly catching up to Gohan Beast until he got his power level to a certain height so it could finally be awaken without destroying him, also Gohan claimed in the DBSSH movie that he trained and it’s really hard to believe that Gohan only trained just to learn the special beam cannon, I believe that that training made him strong enough and allowed him to unlock his Gohan beast form
I think it's a really cool form and I have made an emotional connection with it in a way because it was the first new transformation I was there for, I started the franchise over the summer and so feel special because it was the first one that I saw alongside everyone else. However I do feel that it was a little bit too big of a jump, I think if they work to retcon ogt a little bit and either make it a little less strong, or make it to where he can't control it yet and he just briefly flared up into it for that moment or two and make it where he has to work hard to truly achieve that that power would make it better because it really devalues everything Goku and Vegeta have gone through to get stronger where we have Gohan's jumping so far in like 5 minutes surpassing everything Goku and Vegeta have done over years to get this strong. Make it feel a little bit more earned or believable as a jump because at this point Goku and Vegeta are pretty much irrelevant if Gohan can jump that far without even training. I mean that is just my opinion
Hey I’m just curious why you skipped Ultra Instinct Omen & Mastered in the Transformation Guide? I know you’ve done videos on them in the past but you also did videos on Blue Evolution but you still made a specific video for the transformation guide which was great. Are you planning on circling back and doing those next? Or are you going to put them in the Technique Guide? I guess technically they could be in both Guides but they are definitely more so transformations since there is an actual change in appearance. Anyways the Transformation Guide videos are my favorite videos on your channel and I really hope you do eventually add Ultra Instinct into the series officially bc they’re really interesting forms & I definitely think they deserve to be a part of this series. Also still looking forward to the Potara fusion video in the Technique Guide! I know technically it’s not a technique but it’s still a tactic that can used in battle so it still counts in my book lol. But keep up the awesome work man! Thanks for keeping me & millions of other Dragon Ball fans entertained & informed for all these years!
I like to think that much like broly gohan is a unique evolutionary offshoot(power wise) he’s the only halfbreed to carry the receive trait of a tail, that could be interpreted as being the optimal genetic mix of human.
Super dope to see our boy Gohan get that boost! It’s Saturday morning for me and all I want to say is thank you Geekdom for dropping this! Informative and straightforward as always!
I know technically it's not canon, but the Garlic Jr saga was goated Gohan content. The way he pushes him into the Dead Zone was fucking LEGENDARY. I remember being SO hyped as a kit. I will never forget it.
I gotta say it, thank you so much for these videos. You've helped me learn how to create the transformations and powers from the universe my games will be set in. Seriously, thank you man, your videos basically saved me, I thought my dream was dead and you showed me that I can make powerful characters with deep stories, so seriously, THANK YOU!!!
I don’t know if Toriyama really even knew about this or if he did if he would’ve even remembered it but this form was hinted at in the Super anime. So in that amazing episode (I think it was episode 90) when Gohan fought Goku at full power & they had the 2 on 2 with Tien & Piccolo, after the fight Gohan said that he wanted to “go his own way & find a form that no one has ever done before” & I think this was just carrying over that plot line & bringing it full circle since it was never mentioned again in the Super anime, so that’s pretty awesome. Again, I’m not sure if this was intentional to align with that statement or just something Toriyama came up with while writing this (almost positive that this is the case bc that’s how he is as a writer) & it just so happens to narratively fit perfectly. Either way it’s a really unique form, I’m still trying to decide on whether I like it or not but when I think of it as part of this series (highly unorganized) continuity (or lack there of) it makes it seem a lot cooler. So yeah the concept of it it awesome, but the jury’s still out on the form itself.
Yup... I know it's not super saiyan. Being an evolution of ultimate makes total sense. I was already saying that beast gohan was a super saiyan version of ultimate for my own head-canon. Now i can talk about this transformation much easier now. Thanks as always.
While they could go a bit less crazy with the designs , I really like this new trend of each character getting their own personalized form They all looked good with the original Z designs, but if they're going to have different color-coded transformations I do prefer them being associated with certain characters Actually, I would have gone a step further and let Vegeta have blue for himself for his god form and maybe held off on these new designs if I was writing things instead of having it brought in the way it was and taking away from the cool-looking red hair (which I think suits Goku's "yang" personality more) As a human myself Gohan and Future Trunks most relatable characters grew up with them and always like seeing them shine

I always thought of it like ultimate and ssj mixed together. He's clearly in ultimate form then mimics the super saiyan 2 transformation. They're literally telling you what it is. And it makes sense. The hair changes color and spikes up while having the white aura similar to ultimate form.
This is what I think as well. All these people trying to get all complicated. Its dragon ball simple is usually the way they go. The form literally looks like teen gohan ssj2 but with the white aura from his mystic form and the blue sparks replaced with red. The white hair is probably just a visual tie in to mix both forms together.
It even makes sense if you think about it. Mystic gohan was always just his base form maxed out to the full potential. No reason why he shouldn't be able to add super saiyan on top of it.
Dude, they literally showed and told us what potential unleashed is and how it works in both z and super. It's not a form, and it doesn't stack with ssj. It's magic that allows the user to draw out any potential power they have while in base form. Elder kai tells him to power up just like if he were turning into a super saiyan, and nothing happens. He remains in base, but his power skyrockets to a level beyond ssj3. In super, piccolo tells him to draw out the same power he used to fight buu, and they show us that accessing that power causes him to return to base while flickering in and out of ssj2. Dragonball isn't that complicated, but it's not nearly as simple as you're making it out to be. It's like how people assume ssb evolved is just ssb grade 2 because of the muscle mass, when realistically that form would just be a buffer blue with spikier hair. @@Amartin-mu6oj "return to base while flickering in and out of ssj2" no he just goes into mystic there is no flickering in and out of ssj2. In terms of not being able to stack i can maybe buy that based on the elder kais explanation in z. But just like they retconned the potara earnings in super I wouldn't put it past toriyama to forget that explanation and let it stack. This is what I mean about people thinking too hard about it. Toriayama literally names the new movie super super hero because he forgot the last series had super in it as well. You think someone like that wouldn't retcon his earlier vague explanation of mystic and let it stack?
@@jms974 Activating it would be a more accurate statement, since it literally is his base form, he's just accessing the ability to use all that stored power in base. If you watch the scene, he actually does flicker in and out of ssj2. Even if it were a typical transformation like ssj (which would defeat the whole point, elder kai used the technique on him so that he didn'thave to transform), he literally does flicker in and out of ssj2 in that scene, so what are you talking about? What's retconned is retconned, but this isn't one of those cases. Literally nothing has been retconned, this form works perfectly as a possible result of a high-potential saiyan undergoing the elder kai's ritual. I'm not sure why this concept is so confusing for people, the elder kai literally puts gohan through the ritual to avoid using any transformations. He tells gohan to power up as if he were going super saiyan, and literally doesn't transform. He remains in base form, but his power skyrockets to ssj3 level with none of the drawbacks the form comes with. They literally make it as easy as possible to understand.
My perspective on beast Gohan is this. When he turned ss2 it was very well lead up to with him mastering ss so much and stacking his unleashed rage on too. Ultimate Gohan, while definitely an ass pull, was at least explained at the time. My problem with beast Gohan is that ultimate Gohan has always seemingly been him having control over all of his potential, ending the need to ever have him rage out again but beast Gohan not only goes against this, but isn’t explained literally at all. Recently in super, goku and vegeta have powered up with these insanely next level and complicated mentally focused limit breaking forms. I think they could explain Gohan surpassing his limits in a similar way but I think they have a lot of justifying to go

I like the idea that all Saiyan transformations are the same forms, but activated with different kinds of Ki. Ultra Ego is SS1 with Destruction Ki, SSB is SS1 but activated with the God Ki, Blue Evolution is SS1 Grade 2 with God Ki, etc. Then maybe this beast form is some kind of SS level infused with the mystic energies that were unlocked in him. Maybe this is SS1 with "Mystic Ki," and Gohan's Ultimate/Mystic form was a base form with this kind of Ki, in the same way that SSG was a base form but with God Ki.
Actually if you think about this Gohan didn't actually complete his training with old Kai this probably would have happened if he fully completed his training with old kai from the beginning but it most likely wouldn't have Been White hair
I had been waiting for years... For Gohan to get some love since the Cell games saga. His power has always come from his emotions. And it's about time he gets to shine again. Gohan is the GOAT.
Yes you hit the nail right on the head. The emotion crack is what took all the super sayian modes, combined with ultimate, along with his moon power, create beast mode. I would have like that gamma 1 & 2 fused .
I loved this explanation. Best one yet and makes sense why he has surpassed everyone. Beast Gohan has been my favorite since release but I’ve always loved Gohan
Gohan goes Beast Form because they took his daughter and “killed” his Master. That’s enough for any dad to get a new transformation. Every time something happens to Chi-Chi or his kids Goku loses it. Even Vegetas power up when Bulma gets slap is enough to strike Beerus.
I love your videos, man. I never read the manga so I didn't know the original super Saiyan form had white hair and red eyes. Yet one more similarity between Goku and Luffy.
To be fair Piccolo did whip Gohan back into shape before the Tournamente of Power. Gohan was able to keep up with SSJ Blue Goku. He only lost when Goku used kioken on top of blue. His performance was pretty commendable in the tournament. Even if the manga version is morr impressive. Beast Gohand seems like the natural progression. Still though, despite Gohan's and Piccolo's statement about Goku and Vegeta not being able to defeat Cell Max, I'd take it with a grain of salt. Hyperbole, since they don't know how strong those too are after the Broly movie. The manga varies so much from the anime. It hasn't been officially stated if the Moro and Granola arcs take place in the anime yet. The only canon for the anime before this period of time is the Broly movie. If we go by that alone, then yes. Goku and Vegeta would probably lose to Cell Max unledd they fused. However, we don't know how much stronger they've gotten since then. Maybe Goku can tap into MUI at will now. At least sign UI if not that. Vegeta with his Blue evolved form maybe be pushing to Ultra ego in the anime too. Probably in a different way from the manga. If Goku has access to MUI after tbe ToP, I think he would still be above Gohan Beast. I see Gohan beast being as strong as sign UI Goku at the most. As for Vegeta, with his Blue evolved form he is below Gohan. If he reaches Ultra Ego then he'd be above too. If Gohand keeps training, then yes he'd rival both Goku and Vegeta's strongest forms.

The real issue for these people is the pain they've been caused, that the experience isn't a vacation and "totally cool coz I know you'll be right back next week bro!"
*looks down at her feet* This isn't exactly here or there I guess, just was something that's been stuck in my head for a long time. Someone I know asked my pastor "If God knew Jesus was going to just come back to life, what was sacrificed?"
Real parents, real friends... you are going to sit there and watch your friend burn alive in agony and be like "It's fine it's a free respawn bro!"
Thanks for letting me talk with you. Honestly, despite the anime's (obvious) canon/timeline issues for Goku in otherworld, I think the post Z era really handles SS3 quite well. It's a *MASSIVE* power boost, but it's almost like it's not "your's" .....the power's there, but you are not the deciding factor.

Sorry, I'm drunk and very sick, and quite tired. Nothing you said is wrong to me. The transformations lean more onto the Chi/Qi/Ki aspect of "what you are," the movement that makes you "you," while not directly structurally telling you that the "what" isn't the "who."

@@wren7195 That was wholesome to read. Appreciate it the thought.
Wait, i though he had already accomplished ss2 in the time chamber,. Thats why Goku easily had confidence in Gohan beating him.
Gohan definitely needs to train with the Gods already, it's just ridiculous to not have him do that at all by this point.

Since if the saiyan have the strength to transform but dont know the form nor have will for it, then their emotions are the alternatives to trigger the form (mostly happen for their first time transforming)
Plus after Frieza arc when Super Saiyan became a thing, the writers made the form itself has ascensions/next stages to it which achieved through mastering the form, like the SSJ Grade 4 or Mastered SSJ and seeking deeper power within the form itself then thats where SSJ2 came along and further on, but they're still both super saiyan forms... Sooo nobody is gonna acknowledge that he got his rage from chi-chi
Yes!!! Bro Ive been saying this for years, Chi-Chi's explosive temper combined with Goku's saiyan blood IS Gohan
When I first saw the movie, I felt like the transformation was simply him using Ultimate as a base, then transforming into Beast (like going Super Saiyan from base). The rage boost is too similar to ignore.
to me Gohan Beast is the manifestation of the saying 'Demons run when a good man goes to war' he will do everything he can to avoid the fight, avoid the death, but if you ignore his pleas to stop, you will get exactly what you asked for
Great explanation

I wish vegeta trained with him considering how much vegeta respects gohan would look good.

I can definitely relate.
This year is the worst year to be a dragon ball fan. Where does DB go next?
@@BigRobot69 Exactly
Gohan, if he trained, would literally be a beast amongst mortals so I absolutely love the name of this form. I pre-ordered the blu-ray for this and am so hyped to see it again, me and the boys were legit standing in theatres on the first watch.

I mentioned that so many times but people laughed at me
Like Yin and Yang.
Gohan is the Ultimate Warrior that Beerus dreamed of.
That scene had nothing to do with the Beast transformation. That aura only appeared in the anime version.
@@j04370859 common sense would tell you that’s where the inspiration for the form came from
@Marthouis Mcmiller The form wasn't inspired by it.
I've always wanted Gohan to transform while in his ultimate form so dope
This is an awesome dive into gohan's beast form thanks Geekdom
GIVING EACH FIGHTER THEIR OWN POWER UP TRANSFORMATION IS AMAZING
GOHAN BEAST IS A GREAT FORM FOR GOHAN I LIKE USUNG GOHAN BEAST IN DRAGON BALL LEGENDS VIDEO GAME VERRY POWERFULL
The new form for Gohan a defining look for him as a character currently
I hope we see more of this transformation in the future
The Dragon Ball manga ended 5 years before Phantom Menace came out (1995 and 1999), but yeah, it cheapens the magic and drama and mystery in the exact same way
@@cosmosofinfinity It was not brought up in the original material. Toriyama mentioned it in an interview in 2017.
I mean Broly deals with rage too, but he's an exception being the lssj
Personally, this was something I wanted from Gohan; a unique power of his own that wasn't just another Super Saiyan re-tread.
The irony is it’s basically a retread of his SSJ2 transformation.
@@frenchfriedbagel7035 yep. Sad but true.
I always felt like Gohan Beast was like Gohan's version of Orange Piccolo.
I like to think that much like broly gohan is a unique evolutionary offshoot(power wise) he’s the only halfbreed to carry the receive trait of a tail, that could be interpreted as being the optimal genetic mix of human.

Seriously, thank you man, your videos basically saved me, I thought my dream was dead and you showed me that I can make powerful characters with deep stories, so seriously, THANK YOU!!!
I always thought that Gohan Beast was the embodiement of Gohan's potnetial triggered by his emotions
Toriyama doesn't usually follow what Toei writes, but that could be true.
Yup... I know it's not super saiyan. Being an evolution of ultimate makes total sense. I was already saying that beast gohan was a super saiyan version of ultimate for my own head-canon. Now i can talk about this transformation much easier now. Thanks as always.
While they could go a bit less crazy with the designs , I really like this new trend of each character getting their own personalized form
They all looked good with the original Z designs, but if they're going to have different color-coded transformations I do prefer them being associated with certain characters
Actually, I would have gone a step further and let Vegeta have blue for himself for his god form and maybe held off on these new designs if I was writing things instead of having it brought in the way it was and taking away from the cool-looking red hair (which I think suits Goku's "yang" personality more)
As a human myself Gohan and Future Trunks most relatable characters grew up with them and always like seeing them shine
Perfectly said!
Here's hoping that we get to see Gohan unlock Super Saiyan God and Blue.

Before the ToP, Gohan said to Goku that he wanted to achieve a form no one ever seen and do it by going down a different path than Goku did.
That was Toei written.
@@j04370859 it was stated in the manga too bro y’all really never know what you are talking about huh
@Spoodermans 17 No, he didn't. He just said he was gonna evolve as a human.
They go out of there way to show us that the form is full god ki just like god, instead of mixing super saiyan with god ki and perfectly balancing your ki like with blue
The concept with the mix breeds gains more emotions is true, look at future trunks and his rage.
I wanted him to look like SSJ4. Or grow his tail back. If your a beast look “beasty”I wonder if he’ll adopt some of the features later
I think they could explain Gohan surpassing his limits in a similar way but I think they have a lot of justifying to go
Aka the form that got goku and vegeta fanboys shook
That's why they're so upset lol
Not sure what fans your referring to but this vegeta fan is completely fine. We know Goku and vegeta forms are stronger then gohan’s lol
Gohan is just going to stop training again like he always does and become a puss
Cause they know it's a form Goku and Vegeta can't achieve.

Gohan jumping passing over the power of the gods and all that god training is just funny to me. Super glad he got a really badass new form.
Kinda makes sense since he was the first out of all of them with divine training if you think about it.
@@cerebralassassin2185 nope what he did with Supreme Kai isn’t divine training. He wasn’t swinging a sword. And what Old Kai did to him didn’t inject Gohan with god ki or anything from the Old Kai, but from Gohan himself. Gohan hasn’t received god training at all. He isn’t Supreme Kai’s student at all. in the buu arc when gohan is remembering what his father said to do, to basically fight with his feelings, and get angry, but gohan talking to himself says he is angry but he cant be like he was back then implying that he hasn't allowed himself to lose his head like he did against cell since that day, he's fought with a more even tempered emotional wheel so to speak, now in super hero gohan for the first time in id say 10 years maybe a little more, finally got angry again finally allowed himself to just let go and let his temper explode for the first time since he fought cell. sure he was angry against buu, in the TOP, against frieza when he was revived in ROF, and in BOG he was mad but he didnt lose his head, he didnt snap. finally allowing himself to snap and lose complete control, thats what this form is, the true power of ultimate gohan is gohan beast. also this is the first time that goten and trunks have seen gohan lose his head with anger, same with 18 to a lesser extent since she could hear everything from inside of cell
I notice a lot of the fans that are griping this is a butt pull are the same fans who like Broly who does the same thing only on a bigger level
Thanks, you actually made me appreciate the form more by making the power 'spike' make a bit more sense.
I was waiting for this video all day!!
Gohan wasn’t kidding when he said he wanted to pursue a new form set apart from other Saiyans. I like Gohan Beast.
Actually if you think about this Gohan didn't actually complete his training with old Kai this probably would have happened if he fully completed his training with old kai from the beginning but it most likely wouldn't have Been White hair
Gohan is that gentle warrior but if you mess with him or his loved ones, he will ultimately body you.

I like how gohan has been drifting away from super saiyan and is getting like his own thing
I had been waiting for years... For Gohan to get some love since the Cell games saga. His power has always come from his emotions. And it's about time he gets to shine again. Gohan is the GOAT.
He got it from Chi Chi. About damn time, too
OMGosh dragon ball tenkaichi 4 is on the way!...the hype is real
I like the "explained" part of his form.
He got a hell of a tingle, on his back, in that movie 😱
I love your videos, man. I never read the manga so I didn't know the original super Saiyan form had white hair and red eyes. Yet one more similarity between Goku and Luffy.

I love the way Mellavelli did his Dragon Ball Z Absalon version of Beast Gohan its sic af the best 👍🏽💙😎
If Gohand
keeps training, then yes he'd rival both Goku and Vegeta's strongest forms.
