I really like Cell. He was an amalgamation of all the main characters and still had his own personality in a sense. He had the best build up. Not to mention his character was really well written. The Z Fighters essentially had to fight themselves especially the worst versions of their core personality traits.
That's one of my favorite aspects of the Cell saga, in many ways it was the last hurrah for the Z fighters. Each one got a moment to shine before being pushed to the sidelines or fading away into the background in future sagas.
I actually prefer Cell over Frieza. When came to transformations, while Frieza’s forms were cool, but he still retained the same personality. With Cell however, each of his forms has very different personalities and almost portrayed as separate and different characters, at least in the English versions, both Early Funimation and Kai.

He facilitated growth for so many characters and he himself developed throughout the story as one of the most fierce villains the series has ever seen. It’s a good thing they never wished him back cos he has the highest potential out of any character in the series
The best Dragon Ball Z villain - period. I love his character and how he was a counter to the classic Super Saiyan form, and forced everyone to try to find a higher level before Gohan ultimately did it by defeating him as SSJ2.

I really like Cell, so much to the point where I think he should've been brought back at least as a draft for T.O.P. an by him seeing all these new different transformations that everyone has achieved it would've inspired him and he would've absorbed techniques as well to achieve a new form of perfection
Completely agreed, base form cell was the most strategic one. Realising that he needs to absorb humans to become stronger than Piccolo and others and then absorbing 17,he made some smart decisions
Fun Fact: in the Early Funimation Dub: they changed Cell’s explanation of how he survived his explosion. Rather then having a nucleus inside his head, he said every cell has a life of its own. If even one cell survives, that’s all he needs.
Cell Max did his job as the final challenge in Super Hero, but it still left me wanting to see the original Cell return in DBS properly. I'd like to think that OG Cell could sense the climax fight in Super Hero and thinks of Max as a wannabe knockoff as he has been silently training in Hell and only needs a opportunity to escape and exact his revenge.
Become so powerful even the confines of hell cannot keep him imprisoned. He's is so set on proving that he is the perfect being that nothing can stop him, not even the fabric of reality.
Thee are technically 2 Cells in our timeline (perfect cell and larval cell) Maybe they both come back to life somehow, then once larval cell is fully grown he works to achieve his perfect form, the 2 perfect cells train together until they’re of equal power, and finally do a namekian style fusion
In all honesty, if Frieza can train and become as powerful as he has, Cell who has the DNA of Frieza and like 15 other beings should have unlimited potential. They should say he was inspired by Frieza and began training in Hell and became too powerful to contain
My first DBZ villain and one of the coolest, for me! My first foray into DBZ was the episode where 16 self-destructed during the Cell Games, so seeing Perfect Cell in charge was an awesome entry into one of my favourite shows ever! Great video as always!

Fantastic Video Geekdom! Cell is an awesome culmination of everything we love about Dragon Ball. Like Piccolo Jr, he wanted an epic duel a Budokai styled Tournament, and cunning like Vegeta on Namek; waiting for his chance to strike. He represents the fearful powerhouse of Frieza, but creates his own air of aristocracy when interacting Trunks " If he could become stronger?". Without a doubt he would become a great addition to Dragon Ball villains!
Truly a spectacular video and something I hope gets more views due to the simplified explanation of Cell and his entire psychology. One of the things I liked about cell max in particular was how he was this giant construct of reminder to Gohan like a sort of a nightmare where it's just him big and like a monster and allowed Gohan to further understand the words of Piccolo. Nevertheless, this was a very awesome video to watch 😀👍.
Crazy how there was three different Cells. The one Gohan defeated, the one Trunks defeated in the future, and the one both Krillin and Trunks killed in the underground lab.
Bit of a logic twist there. If Trunks & Krillin in the present destroyed „Baby“ Cell in the lab….technically Cell in the future (in any form) should cease to exist. Or does Reality not work this Way? 😂
@@Misantroph0 I am currently rewatching Dragon Ball Z (Kai) and they actually talk about this. DBZ is not based around a single timeline that is altered, but the multiverse theory, where changing the past, creates a splinter timeline. Yamcha, Krillin and Gohan even question Future Trunks why he even went back in time, when his own future wouldn't be changed at all.
That's primarily because the larvae form Cell that was destroyed in the lab is the main timeline cell. The Cell from future Trunk's timeline exists but hasn't wakened until after the androids were destroyed in Trunk's timeline. And then the Cell that we see in the anime defeated by Gohan in the main timeline, came from the unseen timeline. People theorized that the Trunks that Cell killed in the unseen timeline is the same Trunks we saw killed mecha Frieza and King Cold in the anime. At this point, the whole timeline thing got very confusing lol
Its disrespectful to not acknowledge his perfection when referring to Perfect Cell. The only villian to state he'd be back and the only one who didn't. Perfect Cell got done dirty. Best introduction and talks the most smack.
I feel cell is always forgotten when talking about who has the most potential in Dragonball. think about it, for people who say it's Gohan, Gohan's DNA is actually in Cell in addition to everyone else so wouldn't that by default mean he hasn't the highest potential possible. look what Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo and Freeza have accomplished since then and they are all apart of Cell. I don't think we even saw the top of the iceberg of cell's power.
Piccolo had a hard cap on his power. A one off movie doesn't change that. And Gohan was said to have the highest potential of all the Z warriors yet he has regressed so much. I still don't understand how you guys get excited for the Freeza ass pulls and power ups but he really isn't that relevant unless he is pulling a power up from his anus that magically puts him on par with the Saiyan stars. @@willdiesel8431by that statement the Androids is also not relevant but both was part of the ToD. Don't forget at first Trunks was being very cautious not to change history in any way except stopping the Androids. Revealing himself threatened his own existence in that time.
I like Frieza as a villian but the Cell arc was amazing the mystery of his creation absorbing humans Dr Gero the Piccolo vs #17 fight Cell games and Gohan defeating him it was amazing.

Cell was the smartest most intelligent villain. He was made of the cells of the Z fighters & Frieza so he knew all their strengths & weaknesses. He drank people to make himself stronger, but his main targets were Androids 17 & 18. After he absorbed them, he was seemingly unstoppable. Vegeta couldn't stop him, Future Trunks couldn't stop him not even Goku could stop Cell even after all the training in the Hyperbolic time chamber. But then Gohan of all people truly ascended above Super Saiyan and completely beat down Cell & even punched cell so hard he lost Android 18. But Gohan wanted to kill cell slowly and Cell decided to self destruct himself to destroy the earth. Goku sacrificed himself & teleported Cell away from earth to King Kai's planet and Cell exploded there and destroyed King Kai's planet. But Cell came back even stronger than his perfect form even after losing Android 18 and blasted Future Trunks which made Vegeta angry and blasted Cell, but Cell wasn't hurt one bit by Vegeta's onslaught and took out Vegeta. In the end, Gohan ultimately destroyed Cell. Cell was one of the best villains in Dragon Ball because of his intelligence, his demeanor & his desire to obtain power, to assert his dominance & destroy the universe

I never thought Cell was ever truly evil....not the way Freeza was...... Just really Really REALLY F***ing mean & I can respect that. Either way, we was always a lot of fun!
9:37 When the main timeline's Future Trunks went back to his future and killed Android 17 and 18, there was this moment where he relaxed a bit saying it was finally over, but then he had a quick realization that Future Cell was still alive and was lurking around waiting to kill him.
Cell was one of the best villains in Dragon Ball because of his intelligence, his demeanor & his desire to obtain power, to assert his dominance & destroy the universe
disagree:
oddly enough, buu is the smartest villian. especially the forms that *didnt" absorb any of the z-fighters.
@@misters4022 Buu was very smart. Super Buu that is. Fat Buu at first only did what Babidi told him to do and just wanted to keep eating sweets. Kid Buu was dangerous & powerful, but didn't talk very much.
Super Buu on the other hand made smart planning to purposely get beaten down by Gotenks & Gohan so he can absorbed them both & Piccolo.
I'm kond of happy that Cell wasn't brought back after the Cell Saga. His character would've been wasted.
More like destroyed
Brilliant Very Brilliant 🙏 i loved the whole entire history behind Cell as a villian.
been waiting so long for this, thank you danny
I always thought that 17 and 18 had to be constructed from human templates to be able to be absorbed. Even though Dr gero already had the technology to create stronger Androids like 16 completely robotic
Thanks for the history lesson Geekdom!
I always wondered how semi perfect cell would looked like if he absorbed 18 1st instead of 17
Fun fact: Cell after absorbing 17 and before absorbing 18... that form was Akira Toriyama's favorite form.
He literally says this in the video?
Great breakdown & very accurate 💯💯
I always like to look at perfect cell like the original evil goku. Once he became perfect he just wanted to prove/show off is strength
Just with the evil tendencies
Not sure where people got this idea that he had a nucleus in his head. The idea was, there was a nucleus in every single cell. As long as a single cell remains. He could regenerate.
Cell is my favorite villain. Great video, Geekdom c:
24:29 another thing to point out here, Cell in the 18 version of events claims that he’s going to absorb 17 and 18 again with the addition of 21.
How come you never mention Cochin and wheelie from worlds strongest who had bio warriors and Cochin even made himself an android and wheelo had a battle suit. That’s how gero was able to transfer his brain from dr wheelo and Cochins work
Love these in depth videos
Bro I been waiting for this one. Thanks again!
The question is... if Cell trained for a period of time, will he get a black or golden form?
He's green because of Piccolo's cells. Maybe he'll turn orange?
Black and golden with god ki😳
People talk about Frieza’s potential but cell’s is greater.
21:38 made me laugh way harder than it should have lol
“weird bug alien,” idk why that just killed me
I did not know Perfect Cell was that much taller than 2nd form Cell lol
Since we’re talking about the cell saga. Do you think in the future you could do a video of the villian hatchiyack? Because I’ve been waiting for you to talk about him. I’ve been subscribed for about 3 years and I love your channel.
I love cell's design and terrifying introduction to dragon ball z
6:54 the final solution of the Goku question
19 and 20's energy absorption is probably the best "weapon" the androids had... that none of the other's have that is their downfall.
Remember when Goku gave Cell a Senzu Bean?
What do we have to get this man to a million subscribers?
Fun fact: The Cell in this video killed Trunk. Twice. ✌️
15:05 interesting read is that there's a jellyfish that stops itself from dying by turning back into an infant state
as a kid i always just thought that the trunks from cell's timeline went back in time, fought the androids with goku and vegeta, beat them, and maybe vegeta or the others trained him a little bit so he could go back and beat the androids on his own, he beat them and then when he prepped the machine to go back in time to thank the others, that's when cell jumped him.
kind of like how future cell was planning on doing it to future trunks, but trunks already knew about him and stopped him. but the 1 year early thing confuses me now too.
and i never knew that the androids shrunk. i always wondered how 17 and 18 could both fit inside of him at the same time and he still looked thin. the comparison to the absorption crystals is interesting too. i never thought about it like that before. lol
I never thought Cell was ever truly evil....not the way Freeza was...... Just really Really REALLY F***ing mean & I can respect that. Either way, we was always a lot of fun!
I always thought he just didn’t care like a human and only wanted to become perfect. But then the best ways to do those things were evil
It would be epic if the designs for Cell at 3:40 show up in a future show or video game
9:37 When the main timeline's Future Trunks went back to his future and killed Android 17 and 18, there was this moment where he relaxed a bit saying it was finally over, but then he had a quick realization that Future Cell was still alive and was lurking around waiting to kill him. I had always assumed that there was an alternate timeline where that same Future Trunks forgot about Cell and got ambushed and killed when he was about to go back to the present to inform everyone of his success.
Love the videos Geekdom! & man I completely forgot about how badly drawn Cell was drawn in GT 😂 the eyes Chico 😂😂
THANK YOU 28:27
Thank you for providing clarification there is always so much misconception based on the fact that CELL MAX is second form Cell.
If you think about it, Cell is very similar to DC's Amazo, where Amazo is an android built with the power of superhumans and in some cases, copy them.
