Thanks for watching. Please let me know if you are about to have surgery or if you have had it and how you got on. Merry Christmas everyone!

Have you torn the labrum? If so you need to see a Doctor and have an MRI to check the extent of the damage. They will then be able to advise if surgery is needed.

Hows the range of motion after the 12 week program?

It’s pretty much the same as the other arm vertical and everywhere else apart from behind my back. Don’t think I’ll ever have full range of movement behind my back now. I’m now allowed to lift weights and strength is back to where it was per surgery and actually better than before on shoulder press.

@@ArunsTravels thanks for the feedback. And thanks for posting your recovery videos. Is lifting weights restricted to a period of time or pretty much all the time? what about pull-ups? Wish you a speedy recovery !

Thanks. I was told that I could lift “light” weights at 6 weeks but nothing heavy until 12 weeks. In reality I stuck with resistance bands until about 8 weeks and then started lifting light weights at that point but only selected exercises such as bench press machine, bicep curls, row etc - nothing that took my arm too far away from my body unless it was straight in front of me. I was doing exercises with a band that were more challenging but didn’t risk weights. Now I’m doing more advanced exercises with tougher bands to strengthen the rotator cuff muscles. What I wasn’t told at first (wish I’d known) was that these muscles really help to stabilise the head of the humerous in the socket and until I strengthen them significantly the shoulder won’t be fully stabilised. I can feel the exercises helping and hope that it’ll be back to normal in a couple of weeks.

Forgot to say that now I can shoulder press, use the lat pull down bar (but this feels a little tougher than other exercises) and pretty much anything I want. I haven’t tried pull ups yet as I don’t think I’m ready.
