@@SHRBJHD that was George's plan all along The rise, fall, and redemption of the skywalkers with Sidious as the big bad stand in for Ming the Merciless from Flash Gordon ?

Colton! Thanks for all that insight. One other detail I noted. You should become aware of something if you aren't already. There's a subtle but important distinction between loving and only caring about someone. Palps said, "he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying, but not "he could even keep the ones he loved from dying." Edit: I don't know about Plagueis's degree of love or caring. I still need to read the book. But I know Anakin cared about Padme to some degree, which does seem considerable in some critical ways. However, it can be argued he didn't love her, not really, especially not if he could ever reject her the way he did, which clearly led to the end of her life. I always found it interesting to hear her express her love, using that word, to Anakin first in their relationship. Not only that, but she said "deeply." Then he didn't even say he loved her, too, at least not right away as he could have before they entered that wild gladiator ring. He sounded surprised at what she said, not in tune with her and her feelings. That's not true and honest love. 2nd edit: I find it interesting that the word vernal can mean springlike, suggesting vernal greenery, along with the name Vernestra (who's very green, of course, and even in a springlike shade of it) and the word vergence, which I first heard in any Star Wars show exclaimed with some amount of surprise from Yoda (who's also very green, of course, and in a springlike shade of green as well). Brendok has vernality, too, in many scenes. Coincidence of first-syllable sounds and a shade of green, I think not. Green, by the way, is also the color of life and rebirth, perfectly fitting for this show. Star Wars shows are almost overly detailed, but I like every last detail, especially when connected, some sooner, some later. Haters will never know, though. Their loss, our gain. Patience is a virtue. :)
There's lots of theories about Darth Plagueis and Qimir, but what about Osha? Her becoming a Sith apprentice should have some impact for the Skywalker saga as well
I hope season 2 is nothing but flashbacks to how Vernestra trained Qimir and lost him to the dark side, and then in the season finale we get a 5-second shot of Plagueis hiding in a closet, confirming there will be a season 3.
A theory I had over the weekend: Tenebrous trained Qimir. Plagueis had no knowledge of this but 'somehow' found out. That is why he was spying on them, lurking in the shadows.
It's a thing. I have no frame of reference for most people who like the prequels. Because they have literally no frame of reference for the 30 years preceding that.
The way in which Plagueis made his debut was so random and abrupt yet you knew on the spot, it was the fucking lord almighty himself. And the reveal was so perfectly presented, like an evil vampire creeping from its lair.
I would love if they would use this series to redeem dark plaugeuis’s and set the path to bring him back as the new Sith Lord in the new time line. Cause come on with all we know about plaugeuis’s to be killed in his sleep come on.
I think this is a great theory. I think the life extension idea lines up with the person Venestra was talking to sounding like Palpatine. He could have been quite old in revenge of the sith, with age suppressing dark side force work.
I think that voice was just an unfortunate coincidence. Star Wars likes the fancy ass English people. That guy was nothing more than Yoda's secretary helping her set up the appointment she kept at the end of the finale. Although if you want to argue that's where Palpatine was working during this era, I got absolutely no reason to question you. Anything that hasn't been broadcast is possible (and, given the Special Editions, still not immutable). Absolutely no logic can be assumed and no canon predicted.
@@blairhoughton7918 my opinion, not a chance. No way would that voice sound so much like Palpatine. This is the company that's synthased James Earl Jones ' voice.
can you explain how rey and kylo are a vergence in the force when they have completely different and separate births... or are we saying vergences in the force are not exclusive to twin births in the force. like to separate individuals can be force dyads randomly?
I can't be the only one who's tired of Disney giving awesome characters a 30 second cameo only to never see them again. Kind of like Qui-Gon jinn in the end of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Or even live action Darth maul at the end of Solo.
Sure, but they did also give Han a whole movie, Fett, Obi, and ahsoka a whole show each. And Yoda and plagues are definitely gonna be a part of season 2, it's not like the teasers are all we're getting of them.
This show surprisingly won me over in the end, and I`m glad it did! Episode 5 was the turning point. Ep. 6 & 7 were... meh, because they had to set up explanations for the final episode. But then Ep. 8 managed to (just barely) pull me over to the side of wanting to watch a Season 2 simply out of pure curiosity of what`s going to happen with Qimir/Venestra (I really want to see that showdown!), Osha & Mei, and how much our little green friend actually knew before the Phantom Menace. The writers left all of the right questions unanswered this time. The fight scenes in this one were amazing and very well-choreographed and I love the overall concept and direction that they are going with the story. The execution was just "off" for the first few episodes and it did look a little too indie film/cosplayer fanfic considering the budget in later places. But it was just the 1st season, so I think that if they can just figure out how to hammer out the rough edges, work on ironing out some of the logic points while removing some of the stuff that is "too plot-convenient," and polish things up a bit, Season 2 of this will be a banger! 💪😊🔥 The Acolyte, Ahsoka, and Andor are currently on my list to watch now! Nice Dath Plagueis cameo breakdown. Yep, that dude`s definitely got some sinister soup stewing in Quimir`s kitchen... 🤣

Excellent explainer. As much as I love Star Wars, a great deal of the SW minutiae has either bored me or escaped me entirely. I'll admit I haven't read any of the Legends material, so I can see why ardent devotees will find so much to disagree with and be angry about. I respect that. I watched and really enjoyed all of the animated content because of the improved storytelling and character development, which provided a lot of context and backstory in a captivating manner. I'm also enjoying all of these explainers almost as much as these Disney+ "canon connector" series. Win/win. Hand in glove. Keep up the good work!
Darth Bane was the one who created the "Rule of Two" because there was so much infighting within the Sith. He was the one that created the Thought Bomb on Ruusan that killed both Sith and Jedi at the end of the Battle of Ruusan. Just before leaving the planet, he found a young girl that was strong in the force and took her has his apprentice. This was the beginning of the "Rule of Two". See the excellent Darth Bane trilogy by Drew Karpyshyn.
He did not create it. He gave the information on how to create it to the leader of the Sith at the time. It was a trick so he could bring about the rule of two. I think Kaan was his name it’s been awhile since I have read the books.
The Leslie lady said that qimir knows plagueis is there and isn’t being truthful with osha about everything like she thinks he is so I’m sure them 2 are up to something hope to see in season 2
Simply out plagueis wants to cheat death. He also wants to master the blood count that gives Jedi/Sith its power. This series will lead to snooks creation
The “somehow, Palpatine returned…” and revelation that Rey was a Palpatine herself transformed the Skywalker Saga into the Palpatine Saga. Starts with Palpatine, ends with Palpatine. And now all roads, like Mandalorian, Bad Batch, and Acolyte, must lead to cloning in Episode 9. Feels like a paradox in the timeline that we can’t escape.
lol that’s funny but that’s typically how TH-camrs capitalize off of us now days by making videos explaining things we know they don’t have the answers too especially like something that last 2 seconds lol it’s all love tho
My guy that's what star wars does 😂han solo said the words Kessel Run in 1977 and almost 40 years later we got an entire film. And you can't blame it all on Disney, because also in 1977 Luke said "Clone Wars" and we got a whole dang 7 seasons MOSTLY from the fella himself.

I see what Disney’s done. Instead of a redo of their sequel trilogy, they’re treating it as their own “original trilogy” and these spin off shows are their prequel films.
Real question: Osha/ May are the same person right, but can they really be the same person if they make different decisions and have different experiences?
@@viviorko I contemplated that but even in the “good” side of Osha/ May there is still “bad” and vise versa. @@danielguerrero5692 , I think it’s a nature vs nurture. OSHA was lied to her entire life by the Jedi vs Mae having years to process the truth of what happened. Maybe them being the same as in there is a total power but it’s split in two. Good question. Hopefully we find out more.
All this talk makes me wish Rey and Ben were brother and sister. Obviously they can’t kiss at the end but the explanation of the force would make a better story.

Perhaps, but I would suggest more of a follow up series with a DIFFERENT name while retaining some of the same characters and cast. Also, I would suggest a new creative team and allow Leslie Headling only a title of “Executive Producer”
I love these theories - there's no big leaps of logic here, in fact, what you suggest repairs a lot of the clumsy (lack of) exposition in 'The Rise of Skywalker'. I especially vibe with your whole suggestion that Rey and Ben are descendents who the Force choose as the Dyad that repairs the imbalance damage done by Plagueis and Sidious - in fact, that there's a lot of darkness in Rey (she's tempted by it) and so much light in Ben (he's tortured by his pull towards it) means they're such a great Dyad, balancing out each other's strengths and weaknesses, sharing the load of Light vs Dark. Yeah, I really hope the Story Group are heading in this direction! 🤞
There's not a chance that he developed his Jedi-fighting skills without getting trained by a Sith, which in this show is almost certainly Plageuis--unless Vernestra is herself a secret Sith who trained under Plageuis and then trained Qimir. So, he's definitely a Sith apprentice, or at least was, in case he went rogue. Perhaps that's what the Knights of Ren was, a group of powerful dark side non-Sith rogues who recruited ex-Jedi and Sith to take on both, to sort of restore the pre-Bane Sith order.
I love the idea of the show. A mystery with death, lies, and a dark secret that could break up a relationship and mend another. Instead we get crappy dialogue, poorly executed dual perspective narratives, and a cheap cameo to fuel adoring fans into not giving up on a franchise being murdered by corporate greed and over exploitation.
I really appreciate this detailed breakdown. I think great art is art that sparks conversation and evokes reactions and The Acolyte has most certainly done that. And here’s hoping that everyone is respectful of whatever views people may have. We’re all part of the same galaxy here! - LOL!
@@KingMK31100%. Can't wait for 2029 to give us the 8-episode premier season of Qimir: Dark Origin. Unless it's all wasted in the flashbacks that S2 of Acolyte has to do to explain Vernestra's knowledge of him. Actually that wouldn't really be a waste. They could spend most of season 2 doing that and I'd be happy. We wouldn't get the 2029 series. But I'd still be happy.
Good Morning 1. I liked the show. This show gives us more Star Wars characters, like Ryan said in previous video, 2. I really would like to have a season two. There are still too many unanswered questions which should lead to another season. I just hope they don't wait forever like they are doing with Andor.
The whole story revolves around the sith and the ability to create life via the force. It's obvious the show is written around introducing plagueus. Kinda silly to imply he's thrown in as an afterthought.
"Since I was 7 years old" Makes me feel ancient as I was 6 when I saw Star Wars in the theater. lol Good video, love the enthusiasm and the balanced view on this series, both your criticisms and excitement.
Given how powerful in the force Qimir is, I can't imagine Plageuis being there without Qimir knowing it. The real question is whether they're collaborating or he's only pretending to not know. As for Grogu, I was just watching the final two episodes of Mandalorian S2 and it occurred to me that he may well have been created by Plageuis and/or Palpatine, since he's the same age as Anakin, and either "immaculately conceived" like Anakin or cloned (fromo Yoda?) like Omega from the Bad Batch. We still don't know what ultimate purpose either serves in the Star Wars timeline so perhaps this is part of his backstory, indirectly at least, as well as Omega's and Anakin's. Lots of moving parts here but it all appears to be headed in the same overall direction. I am wondering though what connection if any there is to the events of Ahsoka and that off-galaxy planet.
Grogu would be the best choice to be a dyad with Anakin. It could be made to work. I kinda hope they don't go that route, personally, but I'll keep an open mind about it.
The serie is good even if they didn't have much money (look at the costumes for example). I loved the portrait of the Sith, it's a pity we unmasked him...

I would love if they would use this series to redeem dark plaugeuis’s and set the path to bring him back as the new Sith Lord in the new time line. Cause come on with all we know about plaugeuis’s to be killed in his sleep come on.
After this video it shows that they are doing a good job making everything connected I appreciate your videos!
Nailed it. I enjoyed the video, and it's fantastic to see you getting more screen time, Colton, I'd like to hear ALOT MORE from you. Good job

I enjoyed the show. Large groups of Jedi getting slayed is always a good show. Also I like the sensory deprivation helmet 🪖 😮
@@bloatedgoatfpv They got Ewan McGregor to sound nothing like Alec Guinness. They're audio geniuses.
Also palpatine's whole thing is that he can go from body to body so who's to say that his form in Episode 1 was his original one.

or are we saying vergences in the force are not exclusive to twin births in the force. like to separate individuals can be force dyads randomly?
I really want a season 2, the show was great and Stenberg is a real baddie yo.
Really like that nugget at the end, makes even more sense
I can't be the only one who's tired of Disney giving awesome characters a 30 second cameo only to never see them again. Kind of like Qui-Gon jinn in the end of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Or even live action Darth maul at the end of Solo.
Sure, but they did also give Han a whole movie, Fett, Obi, and ahsoka a whole show each. And Yoda and plagues are definitely gonna be a part of season 2, it's not like the teasers are all we're getting of them.
I am glad. They have ruined enough already.
The Acolyte, Ahsoka, and Andor are currently on my list to watch now! Nice Dath Plagueis cameo breakdown. Yep, that dude`s definitely got some sinister soup stewing in Quimir`s kitchen... 🤣
I'm definitely down for a Season #2 & I agree with you 200% Thanks for sharing =-)

Bring it on , but do it right. Longer and more episode for character growth!👍👍👍
I just love the new force stuff. Fav part of the clone wars too. Just learning and seeing more of it.
Have you heard the story of this guy I once knew that I never told anyone about?
Yes!!!’ I definitely have heard about him! He’s a good dude 😂😂😂
He's got plague in his name. Must be a stand-up guy.

Thanks for the breakdown
I see what Disney’s done. Instead of a redo of their sequel trilogy, they’re treating it as their own “original trilogy” and these spin off shows are their prequel films.
Real question: Osha/ May are the same person right, but can they really be the same person if they make different decisions and have different experiences?
It’s a yen and yang thing maybe? Like people having a good and bad side?
@@viviorko I contemplated that but even in the “good” side of Osha/ May there is still “bad” and vise versa. 🤞
I would be shocked if Quimir isnt Darth Plageous's apprentice. Quimir called himself a Sith. Where would he have gotten that idea?
No he didn't. He said a Jedi would call him a Sith. And he would have gotten that word from his time as Vernestra's padawan.
@kylecarter1599 true, Darth Teeth never called HIMSELF a Sith he said other would call him that. Good catch!
@@HabaneroTi yeah, cause only jedi know how to fight jedi? non-jedi have been fighting jedi since the jedi were formed.
He was quoting part of the Sith Creed in episode two. Of course he's a Sith.
Thank you for these insights. It does make the series more interesting.
- LOL!
