At this point, Chase forgetting to remember to change his physick is really just as much part of the ER showcase as the weapon itself
He also needs to forget to change the AoW once if he’s showcasing a non-special weapon.

Ahh, the smelly hands sword as I've taken to calling it. Also known as the Manberry Jam Spreader.
It looks similar to the Ordovis greatsword (albeit much grosser) if anyone wants an idea to dual wield with it.
Pretty much same stats to use both of them, strength and faith and all that, so it works quite well!
I have it paired with a lightning banished knights great sword. Sometimes you can use the blasphemous blade ash of war. Switch to the lightning sword when they’re running from the fire and hit them with lightning.

The Great Club's default ash of war is 'golden land' and it can't be infused with ashes of war, hence why he was using it. If you go to the old atlus tunnel the boss drops it.

Wing of Astel would be a cool showcase. It has one of the most high damage ashes of war, and a pretty unique moveset altogether.
It deals MASSIVE poise damage, paired with the shotel or the mantis blade (with bleed or frost) makes it unstoppable!

Maybe the compliment comes during the fight, after forgetting to change flask, before ass kicking. The mixups
I recommend using the Burn O Flame incantation right before immediately using this weapon's L2. The pillars of flame will sort of mask the windup animation. Been catching people off guard with it pretty well

@@sloth9210 Just today while playing with a buddy 3 out of 5 invaders were faith builds using elden stars, we just ganked them while they were casting so it didn't do anything but why it is so popular? did it received a buff or something?

That club you had never seen before was the great club. Defeat the stonedigger troll in old Altus tunnel if you want it. Also sacred land is it's default ash of war.
Chase just wanted to tell you thank you for the content. Elden ring is my first souls game and I would never have tried duels had you not done this series. Been dueling for over a week now and been having so much fun.
Just beat the game for the first time today, and these videos have me so excited to dive into PVP. Had a bunch of fun this afternoon with a build not unlike this one. Thanks for posting!

I feel like the fact that it heals you even if they dodge it would make the ritual sword and shield talismans combine really well with it.

Scepter of the all knowing and marika's hammer are my favourite dual wields, it has excellent poise break and L1 due to the length of the scepter, also has a nice long R2 poke move

That's not lag. Upper body and lower body have different sets of animations. We found that out in Bloodborne where you could trick the game into using different parts of animations for the lower and upper body resulting in some funny weird gestures.
Try the waving animation and as itt ends start running. Your character will do that same stiff upper body animation while running lol

Love this series, its fun watchingpeople try theese weapons after each video and probably trying a weapon theyve never looked at twice. I love the Eclipse Shotel, being the only "deathblight" weapon as far as i know, its both over powered and underwhelming, and definitely under used

Chase, are you familiar with the Blade of Calling? It's found in a jump spot from the elevator going down to the Forbidden Lands noticeable going backwards. It reminds me of the Black Knife moveset but does Divine damage in its weapon art. Think it's worth using for a Fingermaiden build theme at all? I'm a little on the new side to making builds properly.
You know I've been on the fence about using this and the sacred relic sword in pvp but glad to see its viable

@@ates423 I dunno anytime someone has used it against me they just spam the weapon art (which is kinda easy to dodge) so maybe that's influencing my thinking here
The great thing about this weapon is that even if your adversary has I-frames and rolls through the flames, the attack will heal a small amount of your hp. And as you've probably witnessed in this video, if it actually hits, then it hits like a truck with 1300 damage.
It's not as good as you think. Chase is just that good and can make any weapon seem viable but the moveset is bad, AoW is too slow and super easy to dodge, any decent player will dodge it most of the time without any problem. You will have a VERY hard time going against a decent player with some type of thrust weapon due to the weapon's lack of range and bad moveset. They did greatswords dirty in ER
@@improvised1410 Is it? I sometimes use death poker and blasphemous blade together and it’s really fun. If you just free aim it and predict where they’re going, it will honestly hit them most of the time because of latency and other things, kind of surprising. Plus the l1 of dual gs or back step can do some work in roll catching too. I don’t think it’s that bad, it’s honestly pretty viable.

This is my favorite Elden Ring series right now! Would you consider summoning sweaty builds more often? I'd love to see how all of the weapons you've covered do against weapons like colossal swords, halberd + estoc, dual spears, etc. It'd be a good way to see how good these weapons are compared to the weapons people already think are good, and we'd learn a lot from watching how you get around them!
As I've already said, the Blasphemous Blade could be Orochimaru's weapon.
From close up you can see hundreds of uncanny snake tongues writhing all around the blade.

@@benmauler1279 I believe lore wise they're actually entire people in the process of being absorbed by the serpent, but they're absolutely designed to resemble snake tongues.
..which also probably plays into some medieval art history. Dragons breathing fire actually started with a misinterpretation of forked tongues, and well this is a fire sword covered in snake tongues in a way reminiscent of fire on it, and the sword is literally the fire breath of a giant serpent

This was my favorite weapon on my first play through! You should do a showcase of the krisknife, it’s a super fun weapon
I'd like to see the Watchdog Staff. It's a very rarely used weapon and, being a Colossal, it can be tricky to use. But the weapon skill tends to force the opponent to roll, which you can capitalize on with roll catches.

Such a fun weapon! Definitely more of a PvE superstar. And the AoW actually does travel up/down inclines! It just gets stopped on weird geometry (eg the top lip of that staircase at 12:12)
Hi Chase, great video as always. How about curves greatsword next? Omen Killer or Monk's Flameblade perhaps? I try to make it work lately but it's kinda missing something.
Omen killer has a somewhat crappy R2 most of the time and monk's flameblade is just a weaker Dismounter.

I don't think it's guarding that's eating your input. There's some general bug or glitch that's causing it. I play on PC with kb/m and I almost never guard and there are countless times where, from a neutral stance or just walking, the game will not respond to a jump, dodge, or attack input. It has to be in the hundreds by now, and it's gotten me killed many times in pvp.
I have two friends who play on PC with controllers, and a friend who plays on PS5, and they've all experienced it as well. Needless to say it's very frustrating.
No idea how well it'll work. But I'm personally wanting to try using radahns gravity pull into spells like zamor ice storm and night maidens mist. Pulling them into the damage.
Golden land is actually the Great Club's natural AOW but the weapon itself doesn't seem to do crazy strength dps like it did in DS3. Maybe do a showcase on it?
My favorite weapon currently is malikeths sword (the one from his remembrance, not the incantation)

Pretty sure this ash of war like halo scythe and any other holy or fire art ash scales based only on your faith. Other stats affect the regular weapon damage but only faith scales the ash.
yo chase could you do a weapon showcase that builds around parrys, so more like a shield showcase ? would love to see how parries are in elden ring, im wondering why no one in elden ring has a caestus ready to parry like in ds3 maybe you could answer that too, love your videos keep em up (ps. you could use the 140 crit dagger for a weapon showcase with diffrent parry ashes)

13:42 You can hyperarmor probably an infinite amount of hits, or at least more than you could ever by hit by in the amount of time the animation needs to play. Bloodloss just staggers you out of any hyperarmor or poise you could possibly have so you can't trade with something that bleeds you before your animation is finished. That guy needed 4 hits to bleed you, that's why you could only trade 3 hits tops.

Hello! I think a fun would would be the Death Ritual Spear. Yet to be invaded by it myself so I don't see many people use it ( I assume because the ash of war is a bit slow)

The heal is actually pretty significant, which is interesting. About as strong as Heal, but you're also dealing damage with it.
Imagine the first duel I see chase in the bottom 1/4th of his health is against a Great Club user!

You should do a vid with Carian Grandeur! Its hard to hit in PVP but its super strong with a pure intelligence build and Rogier’s set, you can get it as an actual AOW or it comes on the Carian Knights Sword :)
Edit: you can also use Godfreys icon, Shard of Alexander and the Magic Scorpion talisman to boost it even higher. Then use Terra Magica and the physik to get even more crazy AR
Haven't tried this yet I gotta use it I've been trying to branch out and try more stuff I've been enjoying the knights greatsword; it has a better moveset than other greatswords imo, or at least it looks smoother and you aren't slamming it on the ground

Hey chase, can you make a guide on how you make these builds? i would really want to copy a build of yours but thinking of playing through the whole game again just to get the build done seems tiring, is there any tips or something for character builds or how you do them.
You can respec at a certain point in the game using larval tears. After you beat a boss early game
how do you do the short rolles? xD if i roll behind the opponent for a crit, like you, iam way to far away from there back.. 🤔

The large club the smaller version that that guys is by the forlorhound evergeaol in on the cliff and I can’t remember where the giant club is. I loved the large club in ds3 thinking about doing a playthrou with the large club tho so iconic

You should give “Butchering Knife” a go. Drops from “Anastasia, Tarnished Eater” at road of iniquity. It’s a greataxe with a unique 2 hand moveset. Its 2h heavy actually comes out faster than its light attack. The weapon also heals %hp every time you do damage with it, including with ash of war, (which is interchangeable) making it great for prelate’s charge and golden land cos of their many hits. Has good dex scaling too
I love using prelates charge with great stars (a great hammer with the same effect) for this reason. Too bad the bleed doesn't build up except in the first and last strike, unless you use bloodflame blade

I like that weapon mainly for pve, cause the healing stacks with other gear. I've never used it for invasions. However I've fought against it enough. I've never been killed by it, but I have been hit by it. The ash of war is easy to evade, unless ur in a gank. Catches me if I don't see it coming. Hope to see you use urumi or the guardian's swordspear.
Please try out Helphe's Steeple greatsword, it might be my luck but i have not seen a single person use it and it has a cool ash of war that makes the sword do frostbite buildup

Definitely my favorite weapon. Only thing is everything in volcano manor zone is pretty much immune to it.
