And as my favourite of all time is the dragon borne build. Elden Ring managed to capture being a dragon born better than Skyrim. Skyrim is one of my favourite games but Elden Ring is one game that I can't replace. Once I stopped playing Elden Ring all other games seemed dull. I can't hardly wait for the DLC to drop
Yeah, that's whats I don't like much about Elden Ring. The game is so big and there is a lot of things to explore and test, but it just end either picking up a Op Spell or a Op AoW and keep spamming it. Every weapon tier list is pretty similar to every skill tier list just because of this: the meta is busted AoWs. Of course you can still use the movesets from the weapons, and you will have some that will be overpowered especially when powerstancing things, but I feel it being 8/80: Or you will use a entire build focuse on a single AoW or you will be powerstancing twinblades/curved swords or greatspears or katanas or..etc; you picked up the idea right? Why you will make a build to utilizes the most of the melee attacks your fast stright sword have if you can just make a build about Sword of Night and flame 3 shota boss doing 5k dmg per use, or make a build about eochaid dancing blade doind 8k dmg with consecutive hits talismans, or powerstancing bleed things that everyone knows it is busted... It's a shame a game great and big as Elden Ring falls into something like that. I feel like they picked the Weapon Art idea from DS3, that was already an improvement of DS1 and DS2 that the L2 button was most focused on parry and block, and thinked "oh, we should improve this mechanic to be more incredible, unique and give more versatibily to weapons" and they just make this so much incredible and unique that you just forget whats the point of a souls game and now you only use your weapon in melee to kill trash mobs, the rest of the time you will use 2560544 buffs and press the win-button to win the game. I swear to you, in every weapon tier list I see people only talk about the Unique Skills and nothing more. The only place I could find a little bit of diversity was in PvP builds video, that players try to actually use the weapon in melee, thinks about the moveset, the range, the dmg, the scalling, the combos potential, the affinits and for last of course about AoW compatibilty, but without focusing the entire dialogue on it. I feel like this mechanic should never return in future for the sake of the good and golden moments we had in perviour souls games or the next game will be just an Elden Ring re-skin. If u disagree with me, just go to nexus and download some mods, there are a lot of crazy movesets and anime explosions everywhere, and I can't lie to you, they are incredible and pretty fun to use... as unnoficial mods. Yup that's it. Now you lost 5 minutes of your time reading this stupid shit I've wrote. Don't mind me, I just wanted to express this that was killing me from inside, now I'm good. And yes Elden Ring is a fun game, just the play the hell way u wanna play.
@@ElMorao I've just started a claw build, and suddenly my enjoyment has skyrocketed. I'm committing myself to all shardbearers and all mending runes, and it's so much fun!
@stanleylee3329 I mean, that's not really true. In some cases it could be but not for your average playthrough not everyone is spamming L2 now you could but if your ranking the best weapons you should be ranking them as weapons not ash of war spamming
Both of those are my 2nd places for each category - Just simply due to the damage outputs of the magma blades and deaths poker, that's why they weren't number 1 :)
@@tkcjazzadarkmoon greatsword hits harder especially when you factor it's pois damage. Your are ignoring the int scaling also scales with the charged AOW. If you use it in melee when charged it will deal far more as you're going to stance break almost every time with one charged heavy. If you time it right it can actually stop Malenia's water foul because you'll stance break her. This also carries over to pvp especially since you can pois through attacks while power stancing. Few builds can take getting hit by an r1 with darkmoon greatsword. Dps is not everything especially when most AOW are overrated and terrible in pvp. Adula's moon blade pairs perfectly over spamming an AOW as an example not including other spells. Not trying to be rude or argumentive just pointing this out. A weapon is more than it's ash of war or base damage you need to look at every aspect.
@@gezimnexhipi4905 Night comet is a better offensive spell. It tracks slightly hits harder than any other spell per FP and in PVE can snipe at range since it's undetectable. Sure comet Azure can melt bosses and large targets but it's very situational to stationary target. Especially factor that you can also cast night comet while moving and can deal more damage overall for the same FP cost. Note comet Azure is best suited for pure mage builds as a way to kill bosses with large HP pools and high pois. Example fire giant and placidusax, Mohg is easy to catch and melt but it is situational to that.
My personal take for these: Strength - The Greatsword. It's early in the game, can be infused/buffed for more damage and has fhanagld ashes of war for versatility. (Though I've never done a pure strength build in ER.) Dex - Hand of Melainia. It has the second longest reach of all katanas, inate bleed build up and a stupid powerful ash of war that triggers all the multi hit talisman very easily. Intelligence - Moonveil. The unsheathe ash of war already hits like a truck while being stupid fast so slapping a magical wave beam that just does a lot more damage break it. What's more, it's early on and has a low stat requirement and weight making it super versatile and it also builds bleed cause why not. Faith - Coded Sword. 100% holy damage and pure faith scaling and stat requirements making this super good on a pure faith build. Arcane - Morgott's Cursed Sword. Innate bleed buildup, a higher crit modifier and the ash of war it stupid good while all being on a curved Greatsword so the raw damage and stance damage is quite nice. Small tangent: putting Marais Executioner's Sword as the strength choice is kinda nuts. The thing relys on it's ash of war to be really useful. Let alone requiring 23 arcane for a kinda ok greatsword that basically only exists to get funny twitter clips of one shotting bosses while being buffed to hell and back is a bad choice.
I agree on everything except the Arcane one, when he says the best weapon for each stat, then he means what weapon does the most damage regarding that stat in particular, Morgott's Cursed Sword is really good don't get me wrong, but If I were to name a weapon I would say definitely Reduvia, first you can get in the beginning of the game, don't even need to beat any boss to get, and if you pick the bandit class you can already use it without even leveling up, alone it has the highest blood build up in the entire game and it's ranged
Blasphemous is a guaranteed stagger, that heals you, and has huge range and goes in straight line. I had to stop using it because it made the game far too easy.
It’s not guaranteed stagger against bosses though unfortunately and takes a while to get the ash of war off - I get you can stand back and hit at range but realistically the dps on the magma blades is far more damage - that’s really the only reason why I just put them above the blasphemous blade :)
Also unenjoyably powerful. I want to be able to do well without making it too easy. Hoarah Loux NG+2 was an enjoyable striuggle with 'normal' weapons, but trivialised with Blasphemous@@gezimnexhipi4905
Blasphemous blade quite literally breaks the game with high poise it’s just lock on and click , the magma blade is great but lacks range or a heap factor , fire is amazing elemental damage but the blasphemous blade is also fire damage plus heat with amazing faith scaling
Got the magma blades like a year ago took hours to get 2 thought the were underwhelming n never touched them since but gave them another shot the other day on ng7 easily my new fav weapon melts bosses and great for add clear and running around dungeons
I really liked deaths poker, so i was glad to see it on this list. Since it procs frostbite, you can do an insane amount of damage to bosses that like staying still or walking slowly towards you (crucible knights, rykard, etc) For faith, since i usually go pure caster, just use erdtrees seal plus a couple other seals in my offhand for the damage bonus
Been having a ton of fun in NG+ with the double Staff of Loss build. The spell is quick, and undetectable by enemies so it’s great for a stealth playthrough. It also hits like a truck (5-6k damage in NG+ 3) when you charge it but can also be spammed very quickly as well. So it’s great for bosses or just traveling around. Not to mention the build itself doesn’t take too much to turn into any different INT build if you really wanted to change things up. On NG+3 now at level 230ish and I’ve already hit the hard cap for 80 int, 60 vig/ mind. And even 33 faith for more buffs to hit things harder. (I even have 54 poise too, but you don’t need to invest into END really).
@@wardgoovaerts3922 Yeah I got you. I’m going to use my current level for reference, then let you know where you can adjust if you aren’t around my level, since most builds are tailored around level 150/200. Level 231 - starting class - Samurai *STATS* VIG - 60 (you can lower this to 50, or 40 if you don’t get hit often) MIN - 60 ( 60 is a ton of mana, you can lower it to 50 or so, maybe 40 at the least) END- 40 (25 or 30 is needed realistically, maybe even less since it seems that poise doesn’t matter too much when casting spells but the spells DO use stamina; so more Stam = more casts in a row) STR - 12 (can be increased if you have extra points to swap to Dark Moon Greatsword if you get bored) DEX - 17 (possibly could be increased to speed up casting time? Haven’t tested) INT - 80 (hard cap for damage 80 is the goal but could get away with 60 or 70 at first if you’re lower level) FAI - 33 (pretty much only for casting golden vow and howl of shabriri. Howl will increase damage taken, so on NG+ enemies can two or three shot you if you have talismans on that make you take even more damage or have less than 50/60 vigor. If you don’t want to use howl, you can stay low faith and just use the golden vow ash of war) ARC - 8 (pretty much useless when mixed with INT for this build) *ARMOR* Note: I haven’t tested poise out completely with this but it seems like I’m interrupted during casts no matter my poise, so feel free to change your armor to something aesthetic if you don’t mind poise. Right now I’m going for looks so I’m using Black Knife Hood/ Armor with Scaled gauntlets / Greaves. This looks decent and gives me 52 Poise, and decent defense. You can swap the chest for Blaidd’s Armor for 61 poise. *TALISMANS* Dragoncrest greatsheild - (pretty much always keep it on any build since I enjoy taking less damage and I need the damage reduction if I use scorpion charm or Howl. If you don’t get hit, you can replace it with Godfrey icon. Only good if you charge up your spells though) Magic Scorpion Charm - (more damage is good) Ritual sword talisman - only good at max hp, if you want to take a healing spell for you (needs some faith) to top off, you can. If you get hit often then it isn’t the best. Ancestral spirits horn can be decent for mana recovery instead. Graven mass talisman - ( flat 8% damage is nice) *FLASK* Magic-shrouding tear for damage, and cerulean hidden tear for no FP consumption *WEAPONS* Mainhand - Staff of Loss + 25 Offhand - Staff of Loss (no upgrades needed its there for the bonus) and Golden order seal + 10 so we can cast our faith spells mentioned earlier. Though whatever seal you have leveled should work. *SPELLS* Golden Vow Howl of Shabriri Terra Magica Carian Retaliation - (optional, just something extra to cast before running into a boss) Night Shard - (optional, but way faster than Night Comet. Less damage and you can’t charge it, but I use it for simple enemies I can one shot when I want to save mana. However Night comet DOES pierce so sometimes you can use Comet instead and kill multiple enemies which would save you more mana. It’s usually not THAT important but I thought I’d mention it) Night comet - (our main spell, slow to start but can be cast rapidly after, or each cast can be charged for more damage. With all of the buffs I’ve mentioned before I can hit around 5-6k with this when charged.) *OPTIONAL SPELLS* Unseen Form - (optional, I just like sneaking around, but with night comet being unreadable by enemies sometimes you don’t even use this. I just think it’s fun.) Urgent heal/heal - (optional. only if you need to maintain max hp because of your talisman and don’t want to use a flask) Black flames protection - (think this provides like a 20-30% armor buff so it’s good if you find yourself in trouble. Does not stack with Howl.) Ranni’s Dark moon - (I could be wrong, but I think this reduces magic resistance AND builds frost. It’s one of the moon spells. Good for doing even more damage with Comet.) Pretty much any other magic spell you want, that scales with INT, though DEX may help with casting time (I think cap is around 40/50 DEX idr.) *OTHER NOTES* You can also use Frost Pots to make people take more damage. Commanders Standard (not sure if that’s how it’s spelled) is better than golden vow, but lasts 30 seconds instead of 80. Your greater rune is pretty much going to be Godricks or the HP one for late game. For Aromatic you can use Ironjar for more defense or possibly Bloodboil if you choose to add talisman swapping to your buff routine. With sepekku ash of war and the Lord of bloods exultation talisman, you could use this aromatic after and then swap the talisman out for the buffs. This could possibly not work for spells, or even patched but I don’t think so. Though I may be wrong I haven’t tested. In really late game (levels 350+) I’d just increase STR and DEX to broaden your weapon choices if you get bored with casting and increase casting speed. In earlier game I would just use the minimum END you need, followed by the lower stats I mentioned (40 VIG and MIN) until you can copy my build. If you have anything else feel free to ask or contribute.
@@spektral8666 there’s a alternative staff you can use if you haven’t obtained a second staff of loss from NG+ though I don’t remember the name; I don’t want to give false info if I can help it but you should test out damage numbers with alternate staffs if you don’t have a second SOL. If you do have two of them, they’re the best option as the main hand makes night comet do +30% more damage and the second staff is a multiplicative increase iirc.
You can snipe the Caelid deathrite bird with Rock Sling from the giant skull next to it. I did it with a non-mage character by using the Meteorite Staff and Intelligence knot tear, which I believe will let any class use the staff and spell. if not, you could run down to Ainsel River and get Marika's Soreseal.
A lot of weapons are great or can be made great but I just love the Naginita. A pole arm that works great with a shield. Has great reach and move set. Can be changed to whatever build you want with ash of war. Has innate bleed which can stack on whatever build you want. I love doing a int/dex build and having it cold so It builds up bleed and frost at the same time with its reach. It takes down bosses so easily.
omg! i didn't know there were best weapons for each stat. I only used my crystal sword(well, literally since I got it) and almost at the end game. My sword, skills, and my trusted buckler. Good video! I think I will switch to one of those on my second run.
The main issue with the Executioner Sword is that any enemy that has the ability to... move, especially if they do not have lots of particularly slow cooldowns between attacks, completely demolish the damage potential of the Ash.
I’ve made a dex build using deaths poker and blasphemous blade. Use ash of war with poker, freeze enemy, blasphemous fire damage resets ice build up. Rinse repeat.
So far I've had the most fun doing a full strength build (some in vigor and endurance, but nothing in regard to spells or ranged) and snagging the Rusted Anchor early, then putting Wild Strikes Ash of war on it. I'd been running a couple of other characters before that and struggling like hell with Radahn in Caelid, but this build literally melted him so fast he didn't get a phase 2.
I love my duel wielding magma swords. They are not as difficult to get as you would think. I farmed them for an hour and received 2 of them. I got my first 1 running through Valcano Manor. I was able to get 3 in total with ease. The whip is more difficult to farm.
my first playthrough was dexterity build using bloodhound fang. made the game so easy i did not even comprehend how broken the weapon is until my second playthrough when i tried using different weapons.
I agree, I've been playing for 2 weeks with the dual magma blade, it's great and fun but I don't feel like it's broken or anything. I killed the big snake yesterday and got the blasphemy, it's TOTALLY BROKEN, I've been rolling the game ever since. Even without the heal it would still be broken, but with the heal it's not even debatable.
Currently running dex/faith. Definitely gonna try the magma blades. Thanks! Oh… The meaning of caveat- a required inconvenience or nuisance in the presence of a positive outcome or experience.
I am running FTH/INT build and having a blast with Sword of Night and Flame + Lordsworn Straight sword with Sacred Blade. The moveset is dope and the Flame version hits like a track (it has very long casting animation though). I'm not min-maxing thou.
Hey man great video video really liked it, but A doctor one shot said that the occult giant crusher is stronger than Mariah’s executioner sword and he seems to be a pretty knowledgeable fellow but other than that, nice video
For me Strength - piece of iron colossal sword Dex - Nagakiba/Rot lady katana Intelligence - Moonveil Arcane - Rives of blood Faith - Inseparable sword of D
1:22 Can anyone tell me what in the world the "regular greatsword" is? I legit can't tell if Jazza found a generic image off the internet for this item and is pretending it's in the game
It’s literally called the “greatsword” and it’s found in a chest in the back of a caravan in caelid - it’s in the colossal sword weapon class if you need to find it that way :)
strength marais, dex bolt of gransax, int dark moon hits as much in 1 hit as the full ash of war from deaths poker , faith blasphemous blade does about the same damage as magma blade + healing, arcane is scavengers curved sword dual wield
Even more confusing there are also quality weapons Strength plus Dexterity and the magic version Intelligence plus Faith. And some, like the Sword of Night and Flame use 4 of the 5.
Finally someone states some fact bout the pole blade will by far my favorite weapon to use I tend to summon a mimic and we just bleed the bosses to death weapon to good
In my second play through I decided to cheese melania just because I wanted to see how op of a build I could make. I respecced to 80 arcane and equipped the moghwynn spear. I swear to god I finished both phases in less than a minute with that ash of war. That weapon is hands down the best arcane weapon and it’s not close
There is a way to cheese the death's poker. After you aggro him. Go to a small ledge next to the large root coming out of the ground. Use the sitting gesture. The bird will not be able to hit you and will eventually fall off the ledge. Easy way to get the poker. Enjoy!
One of these days I'll find a truly objective ranking of ER weapons. Like, each of the top weapons ranked on how much damage per second they can cause against (enemy x)
Only one i semi agree with is the deaths poker but even that one is interchangeable with dark moon, but imo STR: Greatsword/giantscrusher(you can change AOW which is SO valuable DEX: Gaurduan tree spear and hot take but godslayers greatsword(treespear can change AOW) INT: Deaths Poker/Dark Moon Greatsword FAI: Blasphemous Blade/Magma blade ARC: Reduvia/Elanoras poleblade
I think the best dex weapon is the godskin peeler. Dual wielding that does insane dammage and it also has some good range. Dont get me wrong, the bolt of gransax is insane but i think the peelers are the best weapons in the game just bc of the dammage you can do if you have the perfect build
@Jaza97 Likely the answer is "yes" but I am curious. Are these weapons still top dog in your view for a player that does not make use of Flask of wonderous physick or other buffs? Asking because you mention the numbers a couple times and I see your character lit up like an xmas tree. In general would you gear your character differently (armor/weapon/talismans) if gear swapping, potions, and flask were not accessible? Lastly when we talk about "best" is it by a large margin (more than 10%) over other weapon options?
I mean you’re missing out on a LOT of damage by not using the wonder physick or any other buffs! But, essentially they will still be the best as those buffs will apply to all weapons. As for the gear or talismans, you just need to be adding the ones that buff your attacks the most with whatever weapon you’re using. I.e, if it does magic damage, use magic scorpion charm etc. I think I mentioned it in the video, but these are somewhat opinionated as well as considering the damage outputs but I wouldn’t say the margin is 10%. The beauty of Elden ring is with the right build any weapon can do similar numbers but these weapons are easier to use/obtain and deal the most damage in my experience :) I hope that answers your questions but let me know if there’s anything I missed!
@@tkcjazza Thanks and great information! I know I lose a lot of damage not doing these buff rotations but sadly I cannot stand doing them. They take away from the fun for me. Maybe if they had 10-30 minute durations I would find them more palettable. Agree completely and glad the "best" setups are not so much better that they become necessary. Lot of builds/weapons in this game are just plain fun to use.
I’m a little confused and relatively new to Elden Ring, but I noticed the three weapons you mentioned for Faith max out at B, C and C for Faith. Am I missing something?
No you’re fine, the scalings obviously help the AR but different weapons under “faith” have different effects. Such as fire, holy, destined death etc. just because the scaling may be good on a weapon doesn’t mean the actual attack is - fire is one of the best damage outputs in the game and mix that with a curve sword that can do like 10 attacks in 2/3 seconds plus have an ash of war with lava left everywhere, you’re doing a ridiculous amount of DPS - it just simply outweighs everything else for damage output :)
@@tkcjazza awesome, thank you for all the info! Its much appreciated. I’m doing my first Faith run right now and have the Uchigatana with Holy affinity so its a B scaling with my faith, but interesting to know thats not the key indicator of damage output
@ yo i was trying to hate on somebody making a fake guitar vid and im retarded so I must have left it on the wrong vid, seeing this now and that was not directed at you lol I’d have been doing actually no damage to bosses without the help. Sorry about that man
Tbh we have learned are 2 year of the game being out is that almost everything is usable , but every weapon look crazy with rightset ups . I have seen 1 shot builds with very weapon on the list
I guess if your main strategy is facetanking, some of this weapons might be the best. Otherwise the only weapon I Might agree with is poker. I would assume that you simply wanted to make this video unique (unexpected weapons) instead of repeating same weapons as in other videos. 1. Str - Try starfists and see how you melt bosses without facetanking. If you don't care about damage taken - lions claw with any big bonk 2. Dex - I haven't played that much with dex but claws/nagakiba with blood flame blade or even fang are better and don't require taking hits from faster bosses. Ash of war is the only good thing about bolt and it's one of the slowest ashes in the game 3. Faith - magma blades are strength weapons. Ash is pretty slow. You are probably better with flame art bandit swords. Also fire is pretty bad in pvp. Best faith weapons are either blasphemous or long horn 4. Int - Poker and DMGS are kind interchangeable. So this one is fine 5. Arcane - there is no other answer than mohg spear. Though occult scavengers might be better
Yeah, you're right, I do typically run and gun into most fights lol but I did want to objectively look at what I have used in my experience (basically I have used 90% of weapons in the game, but not all of course) and talk about the weapons that just did the most pure damage. I also took into consideration the ease of use of each weapon so that's why weapons like mogh's spear didn't make it in because unless you're behind a wall or have your enemy staggered, most larger enemies (mainly bosses) will still tank the ash of war and interrupt you, as they don't get the knock back effect. Again, that's the whole point of the video - Do the best I can to objectively look at the best weapons for me, but also get the discussion going with yourself about why other weapons are just as good if not better if used correctly :)
@@tkcjazza first of all Mohg has hyperarmor. So very few bosses have a guaranteed stagger on all attacks. And I think Lions class is the only ash with infinite hyperarmor. So poleblade, marais and especially bolt suffer as well in such fights. Poleblade also suffers against mobile enemies. Mohg has relatively fast first cast and damage keeps going even if you were knocked down. Very Big damage. So even in theory this doesn't make sense. Flame art bandit swords have around 120 more ar than magma blade with 80 faith. Plus it has more fire which is easier to buff. Then you have scalesword ash if you are fine getting hit. And if you didn't try to facetank damage (which you don't do with bolt of gransax) both bubble stick and Blasphemous are easier to use (range) and deal a lot of damage.
Anyone else love the basic TWINBLADE as much as i do ? Stuns enemies like crazy for me if you start with charged RT and then spam RB Youllget free crit hit
For arcane I know nothing better then bloody helice. Out of all my playthroughs the one in which I was using this sword was one of the easiest because the weapon skill is just stupid. Fast bleed build up, twice more s then regular dodge, enormous damage by itself and if this game had a rating system like DMC I would get SSS in every fight. And I think that most fun weapons are multi-stat ones. Hammer of Marika, Ordovis' greatsword or Maliketh's blade are very good for str-faith, dragon halberd is one of the best str-dex weapons in the game, most of str-int weapons are great.
yes. I finished my first playthrough with it. good dex scaling, damage when 2 handed, ash of war to dodge some attacks, good poise damage from jump attacks/charged heavy, and decent bleed procs if you have arcane.
I just made a new character dex faith build with god slayer great sword, shit is op as hell, and yes skinny god skin is a pain in the ass to beat, I use sleeping pot and rotten breath to cheese him
I know everyone thinks the Dark Moon Greatsword is the best for intelligence but it’s really not. I did a death mage build and I have 3 weapons I use. Dark Moon Greatsword, Death’s Poker, and Death Ritual Spear all at +10 and the DMGS does the least damage with its ash of war. DMGS Ash of war hits 2386, Death’s Poker ash of war hits 2896, and Death Ritual Spear’s ash of war can hit upwards of 3552 if enough spears hit.
Idk why, but i am level 350 and no matter how i put my stats in after rebirth new game+ 7 the executioners sword tends to underperform by alot even when i am using all possible buffs i have at least 6 weapons( mele) and 2 range( no staffs or seals included) that deal massively more dmg than the executioner's sword does.
Executioners sword relies heavily on the consecutive hit talismans like rotted winged insignia and Millicent’s prosthesis - you can also add all the usual buffs along with the thorny cracked tear in your wonder physick to then do more than 5,000 damage each time - if you delve into every stat it scales with rather than just strength it’ll do even more damage :)
@@tkcjazza i do use the rotten winged insignia ( like i said with all the possible buffs and talismans and my stats optimally spread) it still does underperform for me idk why, watched many youtube videos how to build around it and how OP it should be, but still for me it is just meh average. With the full L2 combo i do around 6k/7k dmg at most ( level 350) NG+7
@@mario97kristic I mean, that is probably the most you will get with one use on NG+7 - Just where the enemies defences etc will be much higher with each NG+ you go through - For me though, that damage is still enough to deal half or at least 1/3 of every bosses health bar and with bosses like Malenia, they get pinned and then knocked over with the ash of war so you can safely rinse and repeat. If you have other weapons doing more damage more quickly then stick with those I guess :)
Let me know what stat/builds are your favourite to use!
@Cobalt4 They were a VERY close second for the arcane spot :)
1st Dex and strength and 2nd. int and faith 😊
The bolt of gransax and deaths poker are not weapons they are glorified, casting sticks

@@ElMorao I've just started a claw build, and suddenly my enjoyment has skyrocketed. I'm committing myself to all shardbearers and all mending runes, and it's so much fun!
@@ElMorao thing is though, you can choose not to use the ash of war. Having both options just makes it way more fun then other souls games.
I mean that’s what Elden ring combat is lmao. It completely revolves around Ashes of War
@stanleylee3329 I mean, that's not really true. In some cases it could be but not for your average playthrough not everyone is spamming L2 now you could but if your ranking the best weapons you should be ranking them as weapons not ash of war spamming
the best INT is the Moonlight Greatsword and the best faith is the Blasphemoue Blade imo
A weapon is more than it's ash of war or base damage you need to look at every aspect.
comet azur is stronger for int
@tylerrobbins8311 I used it night comet on melenia in first playthrough melted her and everyone else. strong spell
My personal take for these:
Strength - The Greatsword. It's early in the game, can be infused/buffed for more damage and has fhanagld ashes of war for versatility. (Though I've never done a pure strength build in ER.)
Dex - Hand of Melainia.
Finally SOMEONE puts Coded sword there
Cipher Patas and Coded sword helped me so much when invaded and dual weiding either really helps too
I agree on everything except the Arcane one, when he says the best weapon for each stat, then he means what weapon does the most damage regarding that stat in particular, Morgott's Cursed Sword is really good don't get me wrong, but If I were to name a weapon I would say definitely Reduvia, first you can get in the beginning of the game, don't even need to beat any boss to get, and if you pick the bandit class you can already use it without even leveling up, alone it has the highest blood build up in the entire game and it's ranged
@@tkcjazzanice I’ll give them a try

At last someone giving proper respect to Eleonoras pole blade. My pride 🩸
Yo! Can you post your full build? I've been working on one, too, but i'm not sure if I have the optimal one.
@@wardgoovaerts3922 Yeah I got you.
I’m going to use my current level for reference, then let you know where you can adjust if you aren’t around my level, since most builds are tailored around level 150/200.
Level 231 - starting class - Samurai
*STATS*
VIG - 60 (you can lower this to 50, or 40 if you don’t get hit often)
MIN - 60 ( 60 is a ton of mana, you can lower it to 50 or so, maybe 40 at the least)
END- 40 (25 or 30 is needed realistically, maybe even less since it seems that poise doesn’t matter too much when casting spells but the spells DO use stamina; so more Stam = more casts in a row)
STR - 12 (can be increased if you have extra points to swap to Dark Moon Greatsword if you get bored)
DEX - 17 (possibly could be increased to speed up casting time? Haven’t tested)
INT - 80 (hard cap for damage 80 is the goal but could get away with 60 or 70 at first if you’re lower level)
FAI - 33 (pretty much only for casting golden vow and howl of shabriri. Howl will increase damage taken, so on NG+ enemies can two or three shot you if you have talismans on that make you take even more damage or have less than 50/60 vigor. If you don’t want to use howl, you can stay low faith and just use the golden vow ash of war)
ARC - 8 (pretty much useless when mixed with INT for this build)
*ARMOR*
Note: I haven’t tested poise out completely with this but it seems like I’m interrupted during casts no matter my poise, so feel free to change your armor to something aesthetic if you don’t mind poise.
Right now I’m going for looks so I’m using
Black Knife Hood/ Armor with Scaled gauntlets / Greaves. This looks decent and gives me 52 Poise, and decent defense. You can swap the chest for Blaidd’s Armor for 61 poise.
*TALISMANS*
Dragoncrest greatsheild - (pretty much always keep it on any build since I enjoy taking less damage and I need the damage reduction if I use scorpion charm or Howl. If you don’t get hit, you can replace it with Godfrey icon. Only good if you charge up your spells though)
Magic Scorpion Charm - (more damage is good)
Ritual sword talisman - only good at max hp, if you want to take a healing spell for you (needs some faith) to top off, you can. If you get hit often then it isn’t the best. Ancestral spirits horn can be decent for mana recovery instead.
Graven mass talisman - ( flat 8% damage is nice)
*FLASK*
Magic-shrouding tear for damage, and cerulean hidden tear for no FP consumption
*WEAPONS*
Mainhand - Staff of Loss + 25
Offhand - Staff of Loss (no upgrades needed its there for the bonus) and Golden order seal + 10 so we can cast our faith spells mentioned earlier. Though whatever seal you have leveled should work.
*SPELLS*
Golden Vow
Howl of Shabriri
Terra Magica
Carian Retaliation - (optional, just something extra to cast before running into a boss)
Night Shard - (optional, but way faster than Night Comet. Less damage and you can’t charge it, but I use it for simple enemies I can one shot when I want to save mana. However Night comet DOES pierce so sometimes you can use Comet instead and kill multiple enemies which would save you more mana. It’s usually not THAT important but I thought I’d mention it)
Night comet - (our main spell, slow to start but can be cast rapidly after, or each cast can be charged for more damage. With all of the buffs I’ve mentioned before I can hit around 5-6k with this when charged.)
*OPTIONAL SPELLS*
Unseen Form - (optional, I just like sneaking around, but with night comet being unreadable by enemies sometimes you don’t even use this. I just think it’s fun.)
Urgent heal/heal - (optional. only if you need to maintain max hp because of your talisman and don’t want to use a flask)
Black flames protection - (think this provides like a 20-30% armor buff so it’s good if you find yourself in trouble. Does not stack with Howl.)
Ranni’s Dark moon - (I could be wrong, but I think this reduces magic resistance AND builds frost. It’s one of the moon spells. Good for doing even more damage with Comet.)
Pretty much any other magic spell you want, that scales with INT, though DEX may help with casting time (I think cap is around 40/50 DEX idr.)
*OTHER NOTES*
You can also use Frost Pots to make people take more damage.

If you do have two of them, they’re the best option as the main hand makes night comet do +30% more damage and the second staff is a multiplicative increase iirc.

You rock!
I've been using the Nagakiba with the ash of war bloody slash.

I legit can't tell if Jazza found a generic image off the internet for this item and is pretending it's in the game
That image doesn't show up in the wiki within the greatswords list

@Jaza97
Likely the answer is "yes" but I am curious.
The beauty of Elden ring is with the right build any weapon can do similar numbers but these weapons are easier to use/obtain and deal the most damage in my experience :)
I hope that answers your questions but let me know if there’s anything I missed!

Thanks and great information!

No worries - Hope you enjoy using the weapons :)
If you don't care about damage taken - lions claw with any big bonk
2. Dex - I haven't played that much with dex but claws/nagakiba with blood flame blade or even fang are better and don't require taking hits from faster bosses. Ash of war is the only good thing about bolt and it's one of the slowest ashes in the game
3. Faith - magma blades are strength weapons. Ash is pretty slow. You are probably better with flame art bandit swords. Also fire is pretty bad in pvp. Best faith weapons are either blasphemous or long horn
4. Int - Poker and DMGS are kind interchangeable. So this one is fine

Is bloodhounds fang a good dexterity weapon?

Those other 2 do not drop the sword sadly - they have the lava whip I believe
@@tkcjazza no, they wield magma blades. They don't glow though, so I'm not sure if they drop them.
The best weapon is the one you have the most fun with
I tried to like the death poker but to me it relies on its weapon art a little too much.
MAGMA WYRM SCALESWORD is so underrated
Your backing music choice makes me think you're the type of guy to drink coke out of a Pepsi glass
