Sucks that there isn't the unique block that the Cleanrot Knights use when we attack them.
They use the Cleanrot Rapier and Cleanrot Spear to block and push back with a holy explosion. Would've been sick to have as a unique Powerstance option.
Would be cool. Also if you could pair them for a unique dual weapon set would be awesome.
I honestly feel like unique powerstance are a little underdeveloped as a concept. Was the wakizashi the only one?

There's also the Pickaxe pairing with Greataxes instead of warhammers
Would need to change the weapon to be paired like the Starscourge Greatsword as that's the only way you can use L1 to block. Possibly change the Ash of war to make it context sensitive? Holding L2 would do the block animation and on release does the explosion. Wouldn't be the first time a weapon art had context for what it did.
I love the cleanrot spear, but there's one thing about it I hate. The buckler always faces right despite what hand you hold the spear in, so I can't stand holding it in my left hand.
I get that but based on the way the clean rot knights block in conjunction with their straight sword it faces outward. It does translate to a goofy look on the player though.

If you're not going to use it to protect your hand, does it really matter?

Hey Chase, if you were wondering what the weapon was at 3:29, that's the Gargoyle's Black Greatsword. The Ash of War is a wave that has destined death attribute. If you look at your healthbar after the fight, you can see that you lost health even though you rolled through it
It'd be cool to see Chase make use of it. I'm using it myself. It's an effective faith scaling greatsword.
@@powertrip0515 I’m about to go through a faith run, would you recommend it over blasphemous blade or is it more fun or anything? Looks really fun to use without being absolutely broken
@@nornornornor9204 it's really good. I definitely wouldn't call it broken. It's a great sword and has that moveset. Outside of stats needed for gear, it gets a good AR on upgrades and high Faith stat
I wish it also had a unique block. i mean it has a shield that is used by the real cleanrot knights to block and counter attacks
It would be cool to be able to do the longer ranged ash of war that the cleanrots do as a follow up, such a cool ash of war

I loved the Cleanrot Knights from the moment I watched a friend tackle them in a stream - a very neat armor set, and with pretty good weapons all around.

i feel this ash of war wouldn’t be terrible if it just had a bit more range forward. id gladly trade how wide it goes, for it to go further in a straight line
I would love to see it function as a stance. R1 sweep buffs the spear with increased range (like a holy projection of the spear) for the swing, with the spears coming up after. R2 performing as a thrust with increased holy projection range and the spears going in the direction of the line after.
One thing I wish the cleanrot spear had to its aow is the long distance aoe that the cleanrot knights use. It could be like how the deaths poker aow works where you press L2 and chose either r1 or r2 to switch between each aoe. That would definitely be a go to for a faith weapon build
They messed up a few weapons by making that same mistake (not giving you a light/heavy option)
Imagine if this spear had its own parry, and you could slot a skill like golden parry or thops barrier on it. I feel like it’d be incredibly fun to use and probably the most unique weapon in the game.
Sacred Phalanx should have a category of incantations of it's own, too. Like a faith-based counter to the carian glintstone phalanxes!

It would've been cool if the Ash could change depending on if you charge it or not. For example, uncharged is the normal version, but charged would send out a long range line of light spears.
I think it's about time too see some claw action soon and btw thanks for all the great content over the years Chase!

You HAVE to use the flowing swords soon. I saw a video where the sword dance ash of war flows with the r2 nicely and it looked so cool

I'm a bit sad you didn't use a cleanrot sword to really complete the cosplay but I understand why you didn't.
Wouldn't really be in the spirit of the showcase to use it, even if it was just as a parry tool or something.
Just means we get to look forward to another Cleanrot Chase cosplay event coming up in the future!
I love cosplaying as a cleanrot knight, I spent literally over an hour farming for that weapon bc I loved the weapon art sooo much haha it’s heavy attack is extremely good too you didn’t use it that much I noticed

I've been dual wielding the Partisan spear with flame of the redmanes and this Cleanrot spear and it's been a lot of fun.
Chase saying "we invaded burger king!" made me chuckle hard wtf.

That weapon art has really good damage, it dealt two hits worth of the spear and also lays down the spikes. I feel like it's a good way to chunk someone's health and force other opponents to back off.
It would be really dope if you could do a show case of using all the clean rot weapons and only those in invasions clean rot spear,thrusting sword and halo Scythe

it ried using the ash like the black knight greataxe where you pivot on the slam behind you and follow it by 180 pivot,chase used it in dS3 invasions, but it doesnt have a hitbox
Another fine showcase. Dual spears were always going to be viable no matter what you picked, but I'm happy that you picked these.
Reminds me, that mage at the end was using Collapsing Stars. I used to have a combo involving Collapsing Stars+Pulley Sleep+Moonlight Greatsword that actually worked pretty well when someone whiffed a dodge. Almost never hit right, but fun when it did.
You may know already, but you can delay jump attacks just like with back step attacks! To the point where you can press the button in your landing animation and the jump attack animation happens

Some more buff weapon arts would be interesting, cragblade specifically would be interesting to see in a pvp setting.
I wonder if you can reverse the AoW so the first part that usually slams into the ground hits the enemy instead, then turn around and combo it into the rest of the ash.

That spear talisman in this game can make any spear a game changer for trading
The spining staff at the end is Renalla's staff. Its the only staff that does that much dmg with that spin
Fun fact, those weapons actually increase your poison and rot resistance, as it is stated in the description
The cleanrot set actually looks great imo when you alter it and get rid of the rags hanging off the back of it

The fully charged 2nd heavy attack does 2 quick thrusts and then a upwards thrust, hard to pull off in pvp but does pretty heavy damage if it’s a counterattack
I wanna see how you use the executioner greatsword or regalia of eonchaid. You can buff the drill attack to one shot levels 2k+ damage by stacking tailsman effects.

I also make distractions with ashes of war, I will use nebula with asters wing and either do the RT charge attack through it, or go for a jump attack.
I would love to see you use fist weapons at some point I love spiked caestus but you can use whichever or do them all in one episode mix and match since they're all essentially the same aside from a couple since there's so many fist weapon varients you can have a bunch of them equipped and throw people off by having different ashes of war on each of them
Cosplay builds are usually my favorite to use. Intimidation factor in invasions is nice lol

Have you tried a Bloodhound setup yet, Chase? Bloodhound Sword in main, Bloodhound claws in off (You can put Bloodhound step as the ash if you want to stay on theme), Bloodhound armor set. It's pretty fun to hunt players with the setup!
You're by far the most skilled souls pvp-er I've ever seen, especially in ds3. I honestly wish I could watch you and my friend pvp in ds3 because I've never seen anyone beat him. He plays these mind games with his attacks and you're dead before you realize you've been hit. Wish I could compare to that skill level
This could be a farming challenge more than a fighting one, but it would be cool for a Noble Sword or Noble Estoc showcase

the same move-set with the short spear, I believe the stomp and no charge heavy attack is a guaranteed combo, another no charge heavy attack can catch the roll dodge players with the second hit after the stomp-heavy attack combo.

I wish you could hold the AoW so it launches vertically instead of horizontally, like the light attack for the Death Pokers AoW. Would be nice if they also lowered the delay before the spears come up as well, as it’s way too predictable when you’ve seen it once

I really dig the Cleanrot Knight gear, although I think their name's a bit weird.
That Phalanx is way cooler than I expected, lol. Although maybe it could be used to answer a jump in if the other guy's slow? Then maybe you knock them down and by the time they're up? Spears. Or maybe to capitalize on low poise? That initial hit can stun it looks like.
I don't play Elden-Ring, but I imagine that getting into PvP for the first few times can be quite nerve-wrecking. I still remember when I started playing against other people, and was almost shaking with the amount of adrenalin rushing through me. Imagining having some one like chase as my first opponent would have prolly kept me from ever playing online again.
If you ever showcase the Carian Regal Scepter, I know its Spinning Weapon can combo into a Carian Slicer with at least 48 dexterity, including with Radagon's Icon to boost it, and Carian Regal Scepter with 70-75 int, maybe even 80, I forget the exact numbers, and 65-75 poise is definitely doable so long as you don't want to use a weapon. I had a weapon I was using in my main hand that ate a lot of stat points up and still managed 67 int, my weapon, and poise break values while having over 2K HP, so depending on whether or not you'd want to drop to 55 vigor you might be able to hit 80 on the staff. Also, the melee sorceries are extremely good and can be casted very quickly after each other except for Piercer, which is a good roll catcher, anyway. Might be interesting to consider going scepter --> azur's staff main hand and use Azur's to cast the spells, and Scepter to get the roll catch carian slicer, and if they try to dodge the carian slicer part of the combo, their dodge is set up to go off at a very consistent time, so you can use that to line up your Piercer timing. It can be charged, so you can release it whenever mid charge like a heavy attack to try to catch them since its range is insane. Even uncharged, it's about the length of a roll. Also if you try this, 70 dex is max cast speed and Radagon's Icon gives 30 and Azur's gives 40. I usually just stick to Radagon's Icon because I like Carian Regal Scepter's aesthetic.
That armor is gorgeous. 16x the detail.
