You do know that DMC5 is not selling good at all according to recent UK and Japan data right? I did my part and bought it day 1 but people nowadays want to play same game for 100s of hours. That's just the reality nowadays and it sucks but it's true.

DMC 5 was the best selling game in the UK this week, and it was out for 3 days by the end of said week. It surpassed REmake 2 in steam player peak and has apparently sold 3 million on PC alone; the fuck are you talking about this game has done 5 million easy already if those numbers are true and it's not even been a week since initial release.

We should be supporting Capcom and buy games like RE2 and DMC 5 now more than ever. So that the clueless EA and Activision can learn a lesson...Single player games are alive, have always been alive and always will be...
They ain't gonna learn a thing. They never truly believed their own propaganda. All they were doing was brute force Live Service games with microtransactions to be the dominant form of AAA gaming. Why do you think EA deliberately sabotage and kill their own studios? My guess is to bury potentially promising single player focused games that could steal the spotlight from the more monetizable live service games. Simply put. The AAA publishers were pretty much loosely in agreement to brute force the narrative of Single-Player games are a thing of the past and Live Services are the future. I believe that EA's repeated cancellation of single player Star Wars games in the recent past is a good example of them trying to create artificial scarcity of modern single player experiences. The objective has always been to marginalize the traditional single player gaming experience that's not live service so traditional gaming community would have to choose between accepting live service games or have little new AAA games to play. However, the whole operation backfired because they jump the gun prematurely and got schooled as their obsession with live services and monetization not only caused their traditional bread baskets to revolt but also draw in the ire of the government because the lootbox economy resembles slot machine gambling too much. However, don't expect them to learn the "lesson" any time soon or ever. Chances are they will lick their wounds and try again or introduce some other no fun monetization mechanism.
Games like: Horizon Zero Dawn, Persona 5, Nier Automata, God of War, Super Mario Odyssey, Marvel Spider-Man and Kingdom Hearts 3.

No it doesn't lmao come on. A dance scene? You'd cringe if DmC Dante did this. You guys cringed at Vergil wearing a fedora in like 1 scene. Lets be honest here though the shitty ass design of Dante was, well... SHITTY that doesn't mean the game sucks. Joe gave that a 7/10. It also sold more than 3 and 4 but only because prior to those games were DMC2 which was bad. Honestly DmC would've sold more if fanboys weren't making multiple fake accounts giving the game 0/10 ratings without even playing the shit and bitching about it even to this day. I believe personally that while DMC did better in a lot of areas than DmC, DmC did well in a lot of area's too. Like a 360 camera, realistic graphics, better dialog (except the succubus), better level design, better platforming, more costumes etc(DMC5 took notes). While games like DMC4 have better stories and more technical combat, lets be honest here. DMC1 was like 3 hours, 2 was shitty, 3 was fun but cringey as all fuck and 4 wasn't finished. DmC was a finished game with creative and innovative levels and fighting mechanics and people should approach it with more of an unbiased open mind. It's a reboot after all. It isn't supposed to be the same.

I was thinking the same. U can do all this just replaying couple mission for an hour. So much hidden orbs out there in so many missions.
that bug got patched, they hotfixed the hat so you cant do that anymore. i tried it out on mission 13 for a hour and i got a maybe 200000 if im lucky. that was a high priority fix because they want you to buy orbs there not going to just sit back and let you "exploit" it in a few hours.

Me too! The original Devil May Cry was one of the first games I ever played on PS2. I've been in love with the series ever since. Played every one except DmC. Even beat DMC2 on every difficulty. Only kind of ashamed! Haha

The thing that is holding me back from giving this game a 10/10 in my opinion, even the Special Edition, is that there’s not an option to play as Dante throughout all the missions. I get it that when first playing it for story purposes you switch between characters, and it’s fine, but why not give the option to replay the missions with any character you want after beating the game? It sucks that if you want to play as a particular character you have to stick to their levels in the story. Also, this is more of a nitpick, but more costumes would be appreciated, instead of a single color swap. DMC 3 gave us a costumes for both Dante and Vergil, it would’ve been cool here as well.
Yeah, I wish it gave an option, after finishing the game, to play as only one character throughout ALL the missions. Luckily, if you have it on PC, you can install mods that enable this, but I wish it was an official thing.

Bethesda made one bad game. Wait for Star Field (or star fall?) and Elder Scrolls Hammerfell to come out before saying " I want the old Bethesda back" lol. The only lesson I need Bethesda to learn, thanks to Fallout 76, is to not make another game where players are supposed to take up the role of NPC's.

@@epiccthulu Bethesda games were always average to bad. Barebones gameplay, basic quests and story telling, and infamously buggy game engine. Modders basically do most of the work for them for free. They just couldn't hide it this time.

you missed the point of the boss gauntlet. it lets the other characters fight the bosses that they didn't get to fight. like V fighting the first boss. the boss gauntlet is actually a smart addition.
but that doesn't make sense because you will be able to fight all of them on Bloody Palace mode with all characters anyways. don't get me wrong I love the game and DMC games in general but I always hated refighting bosses to stretch out game length in the missions
Jose Fernandez I think so as well as. It shows that V’s gameplay was well thought about and it gets rid of the idea, what would it have been like if I was V and I fight Goliath, second version cavalier Angelo, just completely misses the point joe.
Mister Master it’s fine as long as the fight is enjoyable and we get a new experience or way of fighting the boss. Which is what we got with V. But that’s perfectly fine your opinion dmc. And that was a huge problem in dmc4 but you only refight the same versions of bosses but 1 time as V and it’s not even all of em. So don’t see it as a problem in my eyes.

But they did make a definitive edition for it. But I'd rather see a Special Edition for 5, or hear when they'll start production on a Devil May Cry 6. Even though 5 is satisfying enough for now.

DMC and the adventures of Donte, sold LESS copies than DMC2, and is the lowest selling and least popular entry in other places like Europe and Japan, I think. If not, I think it should be. Because I had a better time with Devil May Cry 2, than DMC, and I hated DMC 2, it was one of the worst sequels ever made, with its stiff controls, lame story, confusing changes to Dante;(but he had a cool costume though), introducing Lucia, making both character campaigns feel TOO similar, even though there are distinct differences in both characters campaigns, like the bosses, Lucia actually fights Arius, the main bad guy of the Ouroborous company, or whatever, while Dante in his campaign, just shoots Arius out the window on the top floor. Dante's final boss against Argosax, was annoying, because it's 6 bosses in one, literally, and you have to take them all out in a certain order, and the music was the only really good part of DMC2, and maybe Lucia's design. Her story was better anyway, and her final boss fight against Arius, is way better than fighting Argosax, but I still did it as both Dante and Lucia. While I love every entry in Devil May Cry, (except maybe 2), I can at least find some things that 2 does right. But DMC(the reboot), I can barely find any reason to go back, even though it's not terrible, it's just not a good Devil May Cry game. Sure, it might be better than 2, but "Dante" is a whiny brat in this one, and there's NOTHING distinctly Dante-eqsue about him here, Devil Trigger blows, throwing every enemy into the air; wow, how exciting. Playing as Reboot Dante, is boring and annoying. Kat, is forgettable. This version of Vergil is the WORST version of Vergil I've ever seen, he literally goes against everything he stood for previously, saying he doesn't use guns, because he doesn't think a gun is a weapon worthy of a true warrior, and may be just as bad, as the story's main bad guy, Mundus(who's worse than DMC1 Mundus, in my opinion), because Vergil's the final boss. And while he's a really good boss fight, it comes pretty much out of nowhere, at the last minute, but is basically the DMC3 final Vergil boss fight, but only not as good as it was there. This version is just a rehash of that fight. And you fought Vergil 3 times in DMC3. But each time, Vergil got better, and Dante took it more and more serious each time, realizing what he needed to do, realizing that he had to stop Vergil, even if that meant killing him. There's NOTHING like that in DmC, they focus on taking out Mundus, they do it, then Vergil's just suddenly like:"oh, okay, now, let's enslave humans and bend them to our will, Dante", which came out of nowhere in this game. I don't hate the reboot, but I definitely don't think it's a better game than DMC4; Nero's a way better character than Dontly, and, at least this Dante, actually acts like Dante, and not a whiny baby. Sure, you only play as Dante for a short time, but it's still a good game, despite the backtracking you do for Dante's portion, but it's explained why Dante, Lady, and Trish are backtracking, they're trying to save the people from the real villains, and also, for most of the game, Dante's seen as the main antagonist, but it's not like they could've beaten him. But Dante (Reboot), gets smacked around constantly, and is an incompetent, whiny brat, nothing more, and has nothing likeable about him. It's not like Dante never got smacked around, in other entries, (like DMC3, sure), but Dante wasn't constantly whining the entire time, or complaining about everything, he was improving his skills, and focusing on what his mission was, but still, Dante, has always been known as a snarky/jokey badass(except for 2), who knew when to take things seriously, and who knew when to tone things down and joke around, in DMC1, 3, 4, the Animated Series, the manga, and DMC5. But while there's a whole ton of reasons why no one EVER(and i do mean, EVER), likes; accepts, or speaks positively about 'Ol Donte,(including me, if that weren't obvious enough), DmC, wasn't a bad game, just a crappy and disappointing entry in the series, and like Dragon Ball GT, should be seen as having a few good things, and should be considered non-canon(like GT). That's what DmC is, it's the Dragon Ball GT of the Devil May Cry series.

RE 2 Remake was a good 5 or so, and I don't know about Monster Hunter World. My point is that Capcom has done a phenominal job but that doesn't mean other studios like cd aren't doing their part to release us from the stagnation and over inflation of the 4 main types of game that're all centered on multiplayer: Battle Royale, FPS, "MMO", and MOBA likes.

What’s amazing is that this game has charm and history. And the developers knew that. We have beautiful menus with amazingly detailed animations, breathing life into the characters when you see Nero and Rico hanging out in the truck, selecting your load out instead of a bland scrolling menu over a red and black backdrop.
Dante has a history as a devil hunter and for the first time it doesn’t feel like I’m starting from scratch but I’m building from a veteran fighter and his gameplay style feels so true to him yet so refreshing and unique.
The world doesn’t feel desolate and separate from society like the castles in dmc 1, 2, & 3. It finally feels grounded in the realms of reality when there’s gorgeous cities and hellish landscapes. Not to mention Nero’s DMC business on wheels.
AND DON’T GET ME STARTED WITH THE BOSS BATTLES. Wow Capcom. Were you taking small notes from Monster Hunter? Those demons felt like battling the weight and scale of what they would really be in a game like this.
Also you have to admit they also took some notes from DmC’s Dante as well when it came to some gameplay mechanics and...maybe Nero’s hair.
I never expected this much love to be put into a game series I grew up on, yet kind of felt like was in the rear view mirror of what every body else was looking for in video games the last twenty years.

The Pasta baker is alright. Its just a punch line but it only does one of the attacks I think it does more damage and stuns the enemy more though.
I love how Devil May Cry 5 makes reference to the book (Tony Redgrave) and the Anime (Patty Lowell), shows the amount of love care and research that went into the game.

I read the book YEARS ago, honestly I don't really remember ANYTHING except for that, he used to go by Tony Peppers apparently and he did fight Vergil? I saw a couple of episodes of the animes even longer ago, like 10 years ago when it was surprisingly free on TH-cam but then iff you wanted to continue to watch episode 3 onwards it was in Japanese or you had to pay so I never finished it

I hope you understood the power of the rebellion, so if vergil can separate anything dante in the other hand reunites evryone because is a good person and all of his good traits. @@ghstrider100 Dr Faust is a hat like weapon which by using you will spend some red orbs but if done correctly it will give back much more red orbs than initially spent... You can literally spam red orbs bro !
@@ghstrider100 it's one of dante's guns(hat) you put it on an enemy and it drops more red orbs when you hit them, mission 13 is cheese as he'll with it since you can gunslinger and put the hat on every enemy thats around you and if you hit x/square right when he catches it it causes an aoe blast and you can just rinse and repeat for red orbs, just don't kill the spawners and you can get about a million or so in a couple minutes

To play "devil's" advocate in terms of the boss gauntlet, it's with V, a character who doesn't fight any of the 3 bosses in the gauntlet. With a completely different moveset than Nero or Dante, V fighting these bosses changes the feel of the fight fundamentally.
They also have their health cut down tremendously.
Anthem and Fallout 76, multiplayer games, lose to a single player game. I've played every DMC at release, this one is my favorite right alongside dmc3.
I preferred the bosses in 3 more they had great designs and had personality. I was also surprised how tame the cutscenes were in this game compared to 3 as well. Oh well

This review made me sort of think that Joe only played this and the reboot, not the originals. Like every DMC has a boss gauntlet yet he didn't expect one in this and it's weird he criticized the controls when as you said they've always been this way.

I think dmc 5 actually incorporated stuff that the emo dmc did right. The sound when you finish a fight and the smooth game play, also the last hit slow motion thing. Really loved the learning from what others did right.

DMC games are at their core, supposed to be replayed. Therefore, the argument for the 3mil. taunts is weak, since you can get about a million or so by just beating the game, on the higher difficulties.
Plus it's just a special taunt...it doesn't add anything to your arsenal. It's literally the last thing everyone would buy even if it was 50k.

I love open world games but yeah it was getting to be the same thing every game kind of. this game is what a game should be, it focuses on fun, and if you want, focuses on giving you a challenge. fun, simple, and badass!

The game is too short, too easy, the level design is extremely basic and the ending is rushed (also Nero has zero charisma compared to all the other major characters imo). Even if those negative aspects are nothing extreme or anything... it still denies a perfect score. If the game provided 5 more stages after the Vergil "resurrection", Dante and Nero climbing the dumb blood tree in better designed levels with harder enemies and bosses... that alone could erase all the negatives. But it didn't happened, sadly
This game is better than it looks watching someone else play, it feels so fluid and satisfying when you are controlling the characters. It really superseded my expectations, I think it's as good if not better than 3, definitely better than DMC 4 but I like that one too so that's a good thing. The only thing off to me is there's no red orbs for smashing tables/chairs any destructible objects except orb sacs/crystals like in previous games you'd smash all the stuff possible to collect orbs whether it was chairs or book cases whatever was destructible, this game has great destructible environments you can even beat up cars to the point they get destroyed but no orbs from it. I hope they do a Co-op bloody palace mode, defeating waves of enemies with other players with the only thing to keep you alive is your devil trigger healing you see how far you can get as a group, it sounds like a neat idea.
Also am I just crazy or are there no healing items what so ever like vital stars and devil stars to be found anywhere?

@@AlphaladZXA Only DMC4 Special edition had them. Edit: You got a bunch of red orbs for free with the special edition and could by more. I think that was smart as the game came with 3 new characters with new skills to buy. I never needed to buy more red orbs but they free ones they game you helped with buying skills for Lady, Trish and Virgil.
In regards to the "multiplayer", i believe it functions as a story element. The time stamp at the end of each level tells you, that alot of what happens to Nero, happens simultaneously to what is happening to V. It's clearly made so that the world feels alive, and i think it's kinda cool that the Nero of the world, is acutally a real person, when i'm playing as V, and vice versa :)

I just wonder how much longer it is until you won't run into actual live people anymore and just see the developer's "ghost" gameplay.
I hope they improve it in DmC 6 by allowing players an option to have the game ask you if you'd like to wait for the other player during the intersect parts of the game like when Nero and V fought the Angealos together.
@@leoncoben6983 or you know connect you with people that are in the same battle area with you to save time. For example player 2 was your coop partner from the beginning of the mission but he finished the mission too fast/slow to meet him again, so the game will partner you with another player that also arrived on your current area at the same time

Not even Joe brings up the fact that V seems to be using three demons (one weapon/demon) from DMC1! Griffon was an awesome boss character that gets roasted by Mundus, the Shadows are THE most awesome enemy in DMC1 imo and Nightmare is a Boss / Gun from that game.

Devil May Cry is the DMC: Devil May Cry of the Dark Souls series
DMC5 is totally a badass game. I love every moment of it. Almost broke my right hand multiple times trying to get S rank combo or higher with Nero and Dante. Fortunately, it's easier to get high rank combo with V. I never get bored of replaying stages either. Whenever I play Nero, his battle theme always pump me so much that I go all out on the demons. Dante's motorcycle weapon is awesome and I use it a lot.
Didn't Nero use the motorbike mechanic in DMC4? I believe it was called Red Rose or something similar

Nancy Lo yes you are correct ninja theory’s was more mature which I liked, This new one looks more like the old games which is why at first I wasn’t interested. I liked the whole hell, demon, limbo right in front of everyone’s eyes kind of thing.
I love the Devil May Cry games, but I got to say this is the best Devil May Cry in my opinion.

@@DurkenGaming 3 was amazing and still holds up. But DMC5? Oh man, along with the combat being more advanced along with actual finished content that is awesome to go through unlike 4. DMC4 had the best combat but lacked everywhere else in comparison to 3. DMC5 has the combat, hype music, so many options for the players, a good enough story where the overall package I feel overtakes 3.
I don’t knowww I think im still holding tight to 3. Love 5. It’s a welcome final conclusion, but I love 3. This is exactly similar feelings I had when metal gear phantom pain came out. That shit was good but I still kinda liked mgs 3 a bit more.
