Never in a million years while watching the Rambo review all those years ago did I see a universe where these guys not only survive as a studio, but actually make a good game!
U should check out their Terminator game, a true sequel imho and a great one at that.
@@ctsperformance1755 Agreed! The last time I played an actually GOOD Terminator game was when Bethesda made a few of them: "Future Shock" and "SkyNet".
Yeah 2023 was full of surprises on all fronts
@@ctsperformance1755 yeah it sure was!
@@WhiteScarsEmoCivvie 11 got me into those games, I had never heard of them before
I have huge respect for Teyon, they keep improving massively
The failed so they could rise.
Definitely an improvement over 'He's a man not a God come on comrades"
@@kazekamiha"Why do we fall, mr. Wayne?"
@@ServantBerserkerZero To become Batman.
@@kazekamiha Tell me, do you bleed? You will!
Teyon is really becoming an example of a game development company done right. I really hope they keep going and stay true to the work they're putting out.
It’s an incredible redemption story. From a crappy Rambo cash grab to an incredibly faithful version of Robocop
Eventually they’ll reach a level, after gaining all the goodwill from fans that they’ll ever have, that they will be approached by a AAA developer.
That’s when it’ll go downhill.
@@stryletz "we will watch your career with great interest"
Pffft
EA will buy them out and dismantle the studio
I hope they make a Judge Dredd game. I think they can make that shooting real fun!
HOLY SHIT YES PLEASE
@@Sepums "As for you MA-MA... Judgement time!"
These guys have made two really good games that I've enjoyed. Terminator and now Robocop! Well done to the developers.
Other developers should take note. But I doubt they will 😢
I really like how Joe correctly predicted they’d make a Robocop game in the Predator review.
Well they are fans of these movies but I feel like judge Dredd be next
@@DeathCluntch that’d be pretty sweet.
OtherJoe should be cast in the next RoboCop movie, elite acting
Better than the 2014 reboot for sure
He's the most versatile method actor of all time
Thumbs up
Agree
I didn’t see other joe, I saw robocop
One of the greatest redemption arcs in gaming history. From Rambo to Terminator to now Robocop ❤
They HAVE TO remake Rambo... I would love a good Rambo trilogy game, like VietDoom with a big budget
Maybe the company that made Gollum, Kong & that Walking Dead game will have a redemption moment, although they've got a *_lot_* more to make up for...
Hope they do another 80's one like Predator next
@@Blue_Sonnet I think they might have went bankrupt already.
@@KhiemNguyen-ly1wz I wouldn't be surprised if that happens eventually, but I've spent about ten minutes trying to find any evidence that they've announced bankruptcy & came up blank. Where did you hear about it?
Also saw that they made that Big Rig Racing game that Rerez had fun with - if the truck goes backwards it ends up violating the laws of physics faster than Superman did.
It's nice to see Joe relive his childhood 😂 but we've come a long way with Teyon, the rambo video game review from 2014 got me into watching angry joe back in high school.
Maybe one day we'll get another rambo game done right from these guys lol
A Total Recall or Commando game would be amazing too!
i miss that Sick Stache👨🏻🦱he use to Rock. Glory dayz😂
I love it when Joe does a passion project. You can really see the love in this video.
"Leaving your garbage in the street" was the funniest line I've ever heard, OJ nailed that line.
XD OJs RoboCop is terrifying
i love it "You identify that carcass on teh street as your son" i just cant stop rewatching that part OJ needs to legit look for a career in acting...
So cool to see Teyon go from zero to hero, a tear to my eye.
It's been a good year for smaller devs making amazing games, hope we see more next year.
Ps, no bad ass stamp of approval?
Terminator was much better than zero
@@hugoboss917 Now we need Terminator V.S. Robocop.
Someone's gotta make good games.. most 3rd party developers pump out garbage. If they do put out a good game it's got a battle pass or season pass and it's milked to death until it falls off.
Rogue City is the epitome of a good AA game. It really feels like you're playing through an 80s B-movie, which is the point. The only real flaw is the terrible dialogue but some would argue it fits the game.
I've only seen a lil of the game but the part where Robocop calls a drug dealer and the guy goes "oh fuck it's Robocop" its peak comedy 😂
When wendell called murphy "the little engine that could“ i absolutely laughed my ass off, absolute perfection
honestly tho the dialog in the Robocop films was never really that good it was always cheesy.
even the whole "Alex Murphy battling for his soul and his humanity" deeper meaning stuff isn't really handled very well in either robocop 1 or 2 i actually think that the prime directives series did that so much better an that series was just outright forgotten.
@@michaelkean5969 you are absolutely wrong.
Dialogue is not terrible though, at least most of it, some voice acting and junky animations undersell it, but script is often competent and humor lands.
Robocop getting paid in baby food is my new head canon. 😂 IDK why but the idea of Robocop having his preference for his favorite flavors of baby food just tickles my soul 🤣 (Also it does fit with the lore of his character being literally nothing more than human remains being held together via technology. He barely has enough of a digestive system left to absord any nutrients from food. Baby food would literally be the only "solid food" he could eat!)
Precinct Officer: "Robocop you gotta eat the carrots & peas flavor, those jars just keep stacking up"
RC: "I DO NOT LIKE CARROTS & PEAS. I WANT MORE PEACH PUREE"
Precinct Cop: 😮💨 "Ok fine, but only because the mayor is being held hostage and we need you to go save them right this minute."
RC: "NO. PEACH PUREE FIRST. THEN I WILL DEAL WITH THE PERP. I REQUIRE PEACHES TO PURSUE JUSTICE!"
My dad used to run these stupidly long shifts at a gas station back during the 70s , which used to stretch well past twelve hours at times.
Apparently babyfood was something he sometimes prepared for himself during the night, since it was extremely quick and had enough nutrients for him to last a while.
"Joebocop, I'm dying of laughter!"
Joebocop: "If you require medical assistance, might I suggest you locate the nearest phonebooth and proceed to dial 911 for an ambulance."
Joebocop: "I will also have to issue you a ticket for a noise violation in a quiet zone."
Joebocop gives a thumbs up as theme music plays.
The OJ Cinematic Universe is so diverse and keeps growing
**Robo brings back the desecrated corpse of a mother's son home**
RoboCop: "Here he is, ma'am! Safe & sound!".
Anne Lewis: "Murphy, you brought back a desecrated corpse!".
RoboCop: "Lewis, I seem to be having..trouble.".
**'The 'RoboCop' Theme' blares**
One of my top 3 of 2023, easily. Unlike a lot of modern mainstream games, which are oversaturated with ambition and try to give you everything under the sun, Rogue City lived within it's means and tastefully restricted itself to delivering a limited but fun, entertaining, engaging, immersive, and action-packed experience. What a hidden gem this was. I had the dumbest grin on my face for a good 80% of my time spent on Rogue City. It's been a long time since a shooter, much less an action shooter, brought me this much joy. Glad Joe loved it too!
Their Terminator and Robocop games are a fair step up from the side scrollers I had on my C64.
Definitely my biggest surprise of the year. I had zero expectation, fully anticipating it ending up on 'worst of' lists. It's ended up being good to great, but most of all fun and true to the IP.
Never got around to Terminator, which apparently is also quite good. If Teyon keep this up they may very well end up making a true classic down the line. Will be keeping an eye out for what they do next!
if I may interject, on a great game and great video review; many seem to forget that both the "Rambo" and "Robocop" books [along with "Starship Troopers"] were all written with the attitude of opposing the rising level of violence in both media and the world...
This was one of the funnier angry reviews, I bursted out laughing almost every time a skit was ended by the theme song
It's pretty easy to make it funny when all OJ has to do is give a thumbs up😂
Bro he just makes a video and it makes my day :)
OJ on point this playthrough.
@@stmordi Having OJ just standing is enough to make anyone laugh.
Blast the Robocop theme after an awkward moment = Instant comedy
They made Rambo, Terminator, and now they should do Die Hard next to complete the big three of the 80s action era
I need them to make a Star Wars game, I guarantee their story would be a million times better than the Disney sequels.
Well done Teyon. You've redeemed yourselves.

This is probably the most passionate and funny reviews I've seen from you guys, I really loved this and every sketch landed perfectly. Thanks for the great content this was really enjoyable
Glad you enjoyed it!
Did you make the ED-209 dance edit thing @angryjoe? Or is this available online
Right I love Angry Joe Show
The regular angry reviews are the best. But their happy reviews can also be insanely enjoyable and fun.
Joe looks like such a bloated mess these days. What happened?!
You can tell that developer Teyon has really improved with this game.
Yeah, they used to be straight up shovelware makers. Impressive growth
"Get your hands off my penis"🤣🤣🤣🤣 nice reference😂😂😂
Yeah I caught that one too
Amazing review as I expected, worth the waiting...
Couldn't help myself thinking.... Imagine Teyon do something about T2 ( or even first one ) with same passion and skill - FPS, rpg FPS...
Just take my money... :))
Teyon redemption story did began here, but with Terminator Resistance. What a fantastic Terminator fps!!
I’ve always loved angry joes low budget costumes and skits
Joe has said that they use they money they make on costumes and stuff. You can tell they're really going all out with the costume budget.
The skits along the starfield review were sweet
@@PanicDr I also genuinely thought the Drink Sipper was funny.
@@damngamgee3739 oh my god that was the best
I dont know about that. Titanium isnt cheap
Hidden Gem of 2023, I can't believe no nomination or recognition at TGA. Either way, I am glad this is getting recognition among video game review sites and videos.
TGA 2023 was a joke. They completely ditched Hogwarts Legacy too.
And Atomic Heart
TGA has no idea about reality. The "strategy gamer" award category was an absolute joke. None of the games would classify as strategy games even under the most generous of estimations, and none of the streamers had anything to do with strategy games. Quill18 or Marbozir or someone like that should've won.
Tga is a circle jerk to keep money in the studios and companies for advertising reasons. You can watch a ten minute dance but the actual developers get 30 seconds of speech if there lucky. Tga has been rigged for years now.
Given the exceptionally awesome job Teyon did with the Terminator and Robocop games, i'd love to see them make a Aliens video game specifically based on the Colonial marines.
Can you imagine an Angry Joe Review for The Day Before? 🤣🤣
This is just as good as the Rambo review 10 years ago! The skits are 15/10!
“I don’t care how many views I get” thats why I love you AJ. Authentic as fck.
This reminded me of the old school angry joe reviews, great watch!
Such a beautiful redemption story! Thank you for sharing, AngryJoeShow! :)
I'm so damn glad you reviewed this, I love this game! Teyon you done...redeemed yourself, here's hoping for a Robocop VS Terminator and a judge Dredd game from them...hell maybe even a Rambo remake in their new engine..now THAT would be something 😂
A judge dredd game would ve grear
A "True Crime Streets of LA" type of system where you could neutralize or even arrest perps would of been dope, pretty much what you were saying about the older game
I wanna see Teyon do the 2012 Dredd movie get Karl Urban back to do the voice work. The world is perfect for a gruesome action first person shooter.
My one of my first videos I watched from Joe was the Rambo review. I remember me and my brother just lost it when Joe angrily shouted “CMON COMRADE HE’S A MAN NOT A GOD!” 😂 ahhhh that was so many years ago, this game is definitely a far cry from that, thanks for a the years man 🥲
I’ve a lingering suspicion that Joe played a huge role in turning around Teyon as a company. His Rambo rant gave them severe PTSD and sent them to therapy, and here we are now with a brand new Teyon
One of the big surprises of this year! You done good, Teyon.
25:48 So you are identifying that carcass in the street as your son? I have to issue you a ticket, please refrain from leaving you garbage in the streets, littering is a crime. 😂 Calling the moms kid as garbage was hilarious, man.
Love the 'Don't touch my penis' bit. Angry Joe is a certified OG.
OJ: “I don’t read the script, the script reads me.”
I will buy this game, to show my support and respect for Teyon. Nice job guys.
Old School Angry Review is back!!!!!!❤🔥
Man this is so good to watch, seeing some of the old school content make a comeback. I get you guys love increasing production values, but i love seeing reviews too
On the difficulty below the hardest one: the robot fight, requires you to run and throw staff at him, i saw how youtubers/guys wasted literally hour on him, when you can finish him in like 3-7 minutes, basically throwing bike/flameables at him, i almost didn't use the pistol on him. There is sniper rifle and machine gun, but they barely make a dent on him, so throwing things was probably the intended way to play the boss. And finding time between using healing and his breaking points.
Videos like this make me happy to picture the developers watching it and seeing their hard work and improvements be recognized and appreciated, especially after the Rambo review
"He's a machine, not a God!"
This game is just straight up fun, especially as a child of the 80s!
I’m glad the studio rediscovered their passion. Looking forward to a DLC or part 2. Thanks for the review Joe!!
This has to be one of their top reviews, this was amazing to watch. Great video as always! Might have to check this game out later, I'll add it to my gamer list.
I want to see you review The Scam Before, it would make a very entertaining video.
These are the Angry Joe reviews I come here for sure I love seeing him rip bad games or get a read on what just came out but this is a review I know Joe was gonna push out no matter what and a month later it's here and I love it. This is true content
15:28 killed me when OJ was robotically caressing Joe.
First FPS I played all the way through this year. Was an entertaining game nicely done. :)
Teyon, you nailed it! Please do a ‘Starship Troopers’ single player game next! 🤩🙏
I played Robocop Rogue City and there is one glitch that I found that in the cutscene where the characters talking in the tv when you pause the game and resume the character on tv stop moving their mouth but still talking and stay still just staring at your soul
If y’all could do more of the group angry reviews for some of the other games you don’t have time to put into these full reviews that would be sick. Rapid fires are nice but it’s cool to get the group opinion
Then you get all the people complaining that it's a group review sigh...
Nope. They would become lazy and start rapid/group reviewing major releases for easy views. You're basically asking for the quality of this channel to drop. Instead, ask them to quit the already low-quality boardgame videos which barely get 15k views and to use that time to make the reviews we all subscribe for.

I'm sure that I'm not alone in the fact that if y'all managed to drop another angry rant/review on some of that DAWG that came out this year, I'd consume the hell outta that. Great as always AJS!
Lol not Joe almost saying TJ Maxx instead of TJ Lazer at 23:26 😂💀
Edit: I think a good, but also risky, way to move forward with this license is to make a sequel to this game but also the 3 movies essentially turning it into a 4th movie. Bring him to the future but not too far into the future. Set him up 25 years ago in the year 2000 or maybe the year before in 1999. The further you go than that, the more riskier.
Teyon is like watching a child grow up. They learn from their mistakes and improve on them.
Really enjoyed my play through and platinum on PS5 despite having some horrendous slowdown but it was easy to look past because it was so much fun!
Was the platinum trophy easy?
@@awesomesauce5974 yeah pretty much finish the game nothing outrageous
I've been waiting for this review! Thank you for always making time for the smaller titles 🙏
the skit with the jaywalking kid and ticket for garbage was very clever lol
I rarely comment but I just had to say that this review was absolutely one of your best. OJ killed it man. Good stuff.
I would buy this for a dollar!!! I really like this game!!!
17:25 Did they forget that RoboCop has two arms?
sausage arms but they absolutely nailed robocop metal armor I love the shine on it it's like looking at a gorgeous tuned car
I loved playing Robocop and it's in my top 3 games this year, those last few stages in particular when the theme music kicks in, were so great. The game isn't perfect but that only adds to the charm for me and I was fortunate to not encounter any crashes. If you're a fan of Robocop, then I highly recommend it and there's a lot for fans to see
DEAD OR ALIVE YOUR COMING WITH ME
Also for a last review how about the original final fantasy vii idk
Something I learned today: The Old Man was originally played by Dan O'Herlihy, who also played Grig in "The Last Starfighter." He passed away in 2005 at the age of 85.
The day before review, would like to see an angry review if that for the end of the year.

If Joe hired like two more people to do editing and then up-ed production time, he would be a threat to IGN and all the other reviewers (he basically already is). Great stuff Joe. You're one of the most trusted voices in gaming.
Said no one ever…
This game deserves love, it was fantastic
8:50 old man sounds completely different after the transition.

I know what the next big video game should be. How about a Tremors game? Now that would be wicked awesome and a Heck of a lot of fun! Imagine playing a survival style game playing as Burt Gummer as you fight for survival against the Graboids. Using a wide variety of customizable weaponry. Seriously, that would incredibly dope!
theres a tremors board game called terror below :)
@@TpDgreat board games are always fun. But I meant like an actual Tremors video game.
@@sammontanez6908 could work as a survival game but i see it as a first person RPG single player that focuses on funny comedy horror aspect of it XD
One of my favourite games of the year, loved how the rpg elements had a bit of a deus ex feel to them
Bad graphics, bad sound, bad voice acting, bad boss fights, bad repetitive music when there is music, bugs, 7/10 and 8/10 because of the license? I cant help but think you went far more lenient on this because you wanted to be kind to the studio. With everything you said I was expecting a 6/10 because at least it was fun, but no part of this looks like its actually a good much less very good game
This game follows NES RoboCop 3's technicalities, Joe. In that game, you used batteries and repairement procedures at the "chair" as well, to "fix" damage.
Baby food wouldn't have made any sense, because it doesn't repair Murphy's damage, but just sustains his life functions, when he's "hungry". It's not same.
Great review. It's a shame you never got time to do a review of Aliens: Dark Decent, made by a studio that also REALLY loved the subject matter! First class game.
truth!
As soon as I came across its random thumbnail with "Alien xenomorph speaks for the first time" headline I avoided it like a plague. Doesn't look it was done by people who loved the source material to me, but Alien: Isolation was done by people who LOVED the source material.
The Robocop theme is so good and yet somehow it works perfectly as a punchline lol
The black kid asking RoboCop to dance sounds like cartoon veteran voice actress Susan Blu...
I'd love to see Joe do an Angry review for terminator resistance 😊😊😊
Something has occurred to me during this video: The police are unofficially called "cops", because briefly during the 19th century their badges (either in the u.s., or England, can't remember) were made of copper. At one point during this video, Robocop mentions that he's made of titanium. Does that mean that he could be called a "Tit"?
Glad to see the game get some love. It has so many obvious flaws BUT it's the most fun I've had with a video game in years
Did you find the hidden cats in the fire you can save? IN every burning building their is apparently a hidden cat to rescue.
I dont think anybody saw the game coming, not its quality nor the product itself
Matter of fact i even forgot they made both Rambo and Terminator Resistance yet i somehow thought their studio name sounded familiar
Hey if they keep improving like that, good for them and looking forward to see their future successes
Although I love the way Angry Joe and his crew have done a deep dive into this game and the usual way they present their review, I think there is one thing they may have overlooked about the nature of this game. (And I completely missed this during much of my first playthrough as well). And that is that next to shooting and punching your way throiugh heavy encounters, there is usually (perhaps always?) a smarter way that requires you to do a little thinking, taking into account both the environment and Robocop's unique abilities.
The first ED209 fight is just such an example. Take into account the following environmental and ability constraints:
- a fairly small, enclosed space in which Robo has to face the ED209 which is both faster, stronger and has more firepower
- Robocop can only run small distances (aside from the dash ability, which the player may not have unlocked before reaching this stage)
- Robocop can use bullet time (called slow motion), although it runs out very quickly if it hasn't been developed before this scene
- limited cover in the form of cement pillars that can be ground down fairly quickly by the ED209
- limited extra weapons, although two of these can do some heavier damage (the sniper rifle and the heavy .50 machine gun)
- many explodable items like cans of gasoline and landmines lying around.
- the ED209 doesn't just spray bullets, but also occasionally launches missiles. These are prefaced by a red laser beam being projected by the ED209.
The above list more or less forms a "puzzle" that challenges you to come up with a creative solution.
During my first playthrough seeing this fight as a puzzle did not occur to me and I died well over a hundred times before I got lucky and the ED209 got stuck between the pillars next to where the sniper rifle (or was it the heavy machine gun?) is standing against a wall. I have no idea if that was intentional on the part of the programmers, but apparently running circles around the ED209 can have this effect.
The second time around, the first of two combinations of the environment occurred to me: slow motion + land mines. In stead of using slow motion to fire bullets, I used it to limit the damage the ED209 could do to me while grabbing a land mine and planting it right in front of the ED209, after which I had a little time left to get away to escape damage from the blast. That had the ED209 walk onto a landmine time and time again.
The second combination that occurred to me was: ED209 + missiles. That may sound crazy, since it is the ED209 that is firing the missiles at Robocop. But if you think about it, the red laser beam being activated is more than a warning sign. It alerts you to the fact that a missile is about to launch, which contains a lot of explosives. You can simply open fire on the point where the red beam originates from and thereby explode the missile just as it launches, causing some damage to the ED209 itself. Of course, you will be hit by some bullets when executing this move.
A more obvious move I did try out the first time, was tossing the cans of gasoline right on top of the ED209's vulnerable spot. (When playing with a mouse, holding the right button will give you a preview of the path the can will follow.) This can do major damage, but only when done exactly right (which can be frustrating). And you always run the risk of it exploding in Robocop's hands due to fire from the ED209.
That being said, I find the fact that the two ED209 fights that occur later in the game feature a far larger area in which the fight takes place, much heavier weapons lying around and a much more sluggish ED209 rather hard to explain. Although Robocop will have become stronger by these points and these fights can also be seen as problem solvers (mostly the final one), this reversed progression in terms of difficulty feels like a design error.
If this game gets an expansion, it should include a mission that ends with a secret boss fight with a Terminator
15:12 Bender, "You can see her bare circuits".
That ending skit! Lmao
Not gonna lie. As much as I love seeing Other/Crazy Joe dressed as RoboCop, a missed opportunity for a collaboration with The Angry Video Game Nerd and his RoboNerd persona
