you could also just subdivide the faces then inset and apply the subdivision surface modifier and then deleting the smaller faces that we created by insetting

When Shift + ctrl + b borders in a strange shape After completing the operation once, setting the segment to 1 in the lower left bevel panel solved the problem.
If ONLY there were a 10 second way to do this. Would be nice if someone develops a tool that just cuts circles on flat faces where you draw them. (or in this case cut via pattern arrangement).
I am totally a beginner and I might be talking nonsense right now, but, wouldn't it be a lot easier and practical to achieve the same result by using array modifier? Is there a specific purpose or advantage of using this method?
Way too convoluted! I got the same result by subdiving my cube x15. Select all. Inset individual faces. Subdivide those faces x3 and then use Looptools/circle before making the cut. Took a fraction of the time and I ended up with far less geometry.

menu - Edit->Preferences->Add-ons-> Type 'looptools' and activate checkbox

Go into Edit -> Preferences and type Loop Tools into the search on top and then check the tick to install.

Hi, I'm trying this on an very uneven mesh and it keeps cutting uneven polygons which make it very uneven and small, any help with this?
Well, I guess it's because the surface is uneven, so the holes are becoming uneven too. To make even holes, you should have an even mesh
