It's like a 'PS3 Pro' in terms of performance, though it does support more 'modern' engines than PS3 or 360 too. It's still woefully behind PS4 or even XBO, and can't even compare to PS5/XSX, let alone a powerful PC. I guess one could say that Switch is more powerful than a gaming PC - if said PC is from like, twenty years ago.

Borderlands 2 on the Xbox one only averaged about 30 frames for me give or take borderlands 2 on my PC I'm running a GTX 1060 6 GB and it's hardly breaking a sweat that's saying something and this is also on high settings ultra settings actually and I'm getting 100+ fps And it looks beautiful not to mention the freedom I feel when I play PC The fact that I get to choose my hardware I get to choose what settings I use. Honestly it's been so much that I honestly couldn't go back to consoles. I'm to the point where I am always on my computer when I want to play video games.

I own a Switch. I own the Switch version of Doom Eternal. The job Panic Button did is absolutely phenomenal. It is truly hard to imagine a better port on the Switch and it is an absolute blast to play. It is also, objectively, the worst version (or least good to be honest). 30FPS cap (20 for cutscenes in handheld mode and oh boy is it noticeable), standard HD at best, no mouse support, lower quality graphics and lighting effects, quickswitching is near impossible (related to that framerate, btw), and does not have access to The Ancient Gods, Part One and Two. I may love my Switch, but it is much, much weaker than even a moderately priced gaming PC. You can love your platform more, but don't be fucking delusional. EDIT: Well, Quake supports mouse, so... And of course The Ancient Gods has been released since
What I hate about people hating on Switch ports, is that mainly they’re discrediting the magical work these developers/port teams do to actually make the game run on a TEGRA FUCKING X1 PHONE PROCESSOR (seriously ever since the Wii I guess they just decided to use underpowered hardware for no reason). But seriously though the Switch should have been way more powerful than it turned out to be. Nintendo definitely has the money and resources to make a hybrid as powerful as AT LEAST the base XB1/PS4. The Wii not having HD graphics and wanting to be gimmicky? Fine. The Wii U being made to compete with the Xbox 360 and PS3 and didn’t take into account the next generation? Whatever. Just bought a MSI Gs75 earlier this year, my first gaming PC. I've had an Xbox every generation since the original and I have a switch for when I'm on the road for work or on vacation. Each has its merits and I love playing all of them. But from a purely non-biased objective view of performance, sheer number of games available, and overall user experience....PC is easily the best option. This man said the Witcher 3 on the 8' screen of my switch would look the same as it would on my laptop's 17.5' screen gave me a nose bleed.... I'm at a loss y'all. I really am.
