My favorite Nintendo fanboy rant that I've heard about this collection was when I said on Twitter that I'd be skipping the collection and playing the games on their original systems instead. I had a Nintendo fanboy tell me that I'm stealing from Nintendo by playing Super Mario 64 on my Nintendo 64. These people have their heads so far up Nintendo's ass they don't even know if its day or night.
What the actual fuck ? You've gotta be kidding right ? I really feel my love for Nintendo fading more and more to be replaced by bitterness at their handling of fan games, legacy content and the like...
Stop pretending you're the only ones in the right. This idiocy goes both ways. There are detractors of 3D All-Stars that have their heads MILES up own asses. I saw someone call a Nintendo fan a "waste of skin" simply because they enjoyed playing the games in the collection.
@@Dragular I agree some are taking it too far and especially towards people who enjoy the game. But the fact remains that Nintendo is openly trying to take advantage of these people, and while I do not consider it acceptable, I can understand, after spending days, proving with data, experiences, similar products from both pros and amateurs/hobbyists that Nintendo IS taking advantage of them, then the only response you get is "ahah you lose argument you big dumdum because Nintendo is huge, Nintendo is Love, Mario is so much bigger than Crash/Spyro/[insert remaster here] and deserves to be priced like that", THEN yeah I can understand losing it over one more idiot spewing that kind of nonsense without basic understanding of the world and economy and basically blowing Nintendo's stick just for the sake of it. It's even more aggravating when most of those people who spit at the face of most other publishers/AAA game devs doing the game. BUT I agree it should not happen, giving in to anger is the best way to make yourself look unreliable.
@@devilblackdeath I agree. Some Nintendo fans are pretty stupid and just blindly defend Nintendo without understanding the situation and that is pretty frustrating. I myself can understand a fair amount of the criticism towards 3D All-Stars, but when people are being mocked and shamed for buying and enjoying the collection, that's when I've got a problem.

Trying to educate someone about how what they bought is a rip-off is one thing, shaming them for enjoying the product they bought and insulting them is something else entirely. Resorting to insults never solves any conflicts and the person you're trying to convince ends up not taking you seriously anyway, which is fair enough.
A shitty online subscription, an influx of DLC, 80$CAD games, controllers that stop working after a couple months of play, first party releases that just rip off shitty indie genres...The nintendo we knew is dead. Anyone who still thinks nintendo is any better than EA is delusional.
I was on a Reddit thread where a dude presented a perfectly valid opinion and people just ripped into him with typical Soytendo rhetoric. Some even said emulation is straight up illegal, which isn't true. He didn't even say anything too bad about the collection, mostly that he thinks 60 bucks is not a price worth paying for the damn thing.
And it isn't, this collection is a total rip-off.
Little note here too for ya. They aren't even ports, they are emulations. People worked this out because the same emulation bugs and artifacts on PC appear in the Switch, only difference is you can actually fix them on PC. So another nail goes into the coffin.
I really wish Nintendo put in the effort to fully port them. They'd be able to do so much more if they did.

Not only he declared enulation as piracy as fanboys do but he unironically said that the Mario/Spyro remasters don't hold a candle to Mario *just* because it's Mario when both games are supperior and cheaper than this trasheep of a collection. Pure clownery.

I bought a switch this year to play games with one of my brothers, literally only like 2 games, but see this? The second I seen they put absolutely no effort into it I was fucking out. Yeah I was alive when the first all stars came out BUT I didn't have a snes because I'm from the UK and for some reason the mega drive (genesis) was popular and in every shop, also everyone in school had one so... Anyway I was a bit late to the party, even though I had a gameboy, I got a nes randomly for like £1 no joke, loads of games, cool, it was fun. Then got a snes for about the same price, all stars, same games? Nah mate, they were totally reworked from the ground up, they had pride then, they actually gave the customers something to celebrate.
This feels like they're waving a bit of pissy toilet paper in your face and saying "lololol take this, you know you want it, ENJOY, but be hasty, we'll take this pissy toilet paper away in a few months, lol dicks." Yeah that's what it feels like.

I mean Nintendo knew this collection was going to make money weather they put effort or not, I only think it's worth it for Sunshine since that game has never been released officially before and not everyone can afford a PC to emulate it ( *EVEN THOUGH SUNSHINE DOES LOOK BETTER ON DOLPHIN EMULATOR THAN IN 3D ALL STARS* ) but that's my opinion, at the end of the day these are just games about a Plumber who gets friend zone each time and fights a Turtle-Dragon-Dinosaur thing

I’ve never been convicted to get a Switch simply because I looked at my PC and saw how much value I got out of it. I never saw anything of value on the Switch that I didn’t already have. I think these games are overpriced and if exclusives are the only excuse then I don’t care. I still own an original Wii and was really excited to play the games all these years ago and still do sometimes. But 60 dollars for 3 games that ran on decade(s) old consoles not even optimised is a scam.
I am able to play with moderate FP with steam's version of metal gear solid V on an AMD-A9 Radeon R5. Still having issues with ps2 games like the xenosaga series. However, Romancing Saga(The remake) plays moderately well, with some slowdown.
The price tag thing I can kinda defend, as I think that if those 3 games were released as new games today, together I think they'd be worth it. Should they be $60? No, but I can see how if you've never played them they can be considered a worthy purchase for that amount. The limited availability thing however is indefensible and it seems Nintendo learned their lesson because we really haven't gotten anything like it since

Emulation is not piracy & the only good thing about super Mario 3d all-stars is that now you can emulate all three games on one emulator for free so yes, thank you, Nintendo. Your anti-consumerism is once again saving me money
Why are they limited a digital release i get maybe physical but why digital doesn't make any sense they should have just put all these games on there Nintendo online wii gamecube and n64 games.

Yeah I actually did a fake computer build, and you can go at least as low as 570 for a rig that run Galaxy at 1080p 60fps ! Leaves a bit of room to even buy a controller, a keyboard and mouse and even a monitor if you really have no screen lying around or at a relative :D
Also what I love about the quality/amount of content argument is these people don't even realize that means a game like BotW could be sold up to 300 or 400$ based on the amount of content and production value put into it compared to Mario 3D All-Stars, EVEN if we don't account for the fact it's just a lazy emulator-job of a collection, one that does not even match as basic emulation-ports as Metal Slug or Megaman !
why limiting the digital version off super Mario all star collection keep it permanent so more people can play it their Nintendo their two successful and too rich too care pirate on the yuzu emulator

I don't get the mindset of "emulation" bad. These 3 games you get, they run on an emulator. They were not made specificly to run on the Switch. Emulation and emulators are legal. The only thing that is illegal is when you use a rom but don't have the license to do so or a physical copy. Yes, it is even legal to make digital copies of your physical game.
I highly recomment watching the video "It's just Emulation!" - The challenge of selling old games. There they address the topic of emulation properly.
I think you will have a good laugh at Nintendo's way of emulation.
I can't believe how Nintendo had the balls to release Mario 64 like they did. That game really needs to be updated for the modern era, not released as it was back on the N64.
Remember Mario All-Stars for the SNES? You got 4 Classic Mario games with updated graphics fitting the modern era. They even fixed glitches and where brilliant remakes as they even had a safe feature.
Meanwhile Mario 3D All-Stars is just porting... sry, EMULATING 3 of 4 iconic old 3D Mario Games but don't do anything but give them a slidely make over you may not notice. They look like they were just upscaled, but they did a few more things not worth mentioning.
I can see them not altering Galaxy and Sunshine much. They really needed some texture updates and alter the controls and framerate. How come you can't use the GC controller for Sunshine? It makes no sense.
Meanwhile 64 looks like it runs on my own square TV instead of being even wide screen and looks even worse because of the upscale since you can notice things you didn't back on the N64, like how Mario's model looks awful from the distance when you stay still and then move. It should at least look as good as Sunshine. New models, new textures, new everything. Why are we paying money if they don't put the work? I can't believe people actually defend Nintendo for not putting efford because "too much work". And I am a Nintendo fan. I recall Nintendo used to be a company about quality, but when it comes to collections in the modern era, we don't get what we deserve. Even the Mario All-Stars rerelease in Mario's 15th anniversary was just putting the rom of All-Stars on the SNES on a disc selling it for 30 bucks. They don't care.
btw, I got my copies of Mario Galaxy and Galaxy 2 for less than 10 Euros each. You could buy these games for decades sealed for 24,99 Euros in every major electronic store for over a decade. The game isn't that rare.
I find it funny that he mentions the Mario games being the best games of all time, considering Nintendo treats them with less care than the care Crash and Spiro get. These trilogies got updated for the modern era to be playable for newer audience.
What do you think modern gamers will think when they played Oddessy and then try out Mario 64? They will think "What is this? How did people back in the day play this pile of garbage?"

Nah thanks Nintendo but Xbox Series X and S can play your whole Wii and GameCube library so why should i pay $60 for emulation ?

This is why I prefer to Sonic Superstars, Sonic Origins Plus & Ray’z Arcade Chronology.
I'm not gonna lie after watching this video I now truly understand both sides of people who are talking about this game, for me I'm kinda in the middle, I've never played any of these games before but I know that these games are available for *WAY* cheaper than the Collections selling price and run better than it would on Switch compared to the emulator

Sunshine is certainly fun to come back to, but I don't count it as the best Mario game, far from it. Maybe if it wasn't for certain missions having frustrating elements, I wouldn't take a break from it and come back to it later, and yeah it's one of those kinds of games.
I'm not gonna hate on anyone for buying or wanting to buy 3D All-Stars. Hell, I bought it too. Do I regret that purchase? Kinda, but mainly just cause I only ended up playing Galaxy. The ports are pretty all right, I ended up sinking a lot of time into Galaxy. I had been playing through Galaxy in Dolphin, but the controller layout I had wasn't very good. Dolphin's absolutely capable of having superb layouts, if I wanted I could even just go grab a real Wiimote and use that, but I never managed to get the layout how I wanted. 3D All-Stars's layout was pretty nice, split joycon motion control in Galaxy is really comfortable and there's a button for spinning if you prefer that instead.
It's the best versions of these games that Nintendo has ever offered themselves, and it's a fine way to play them. But compared to fan efforts and emulation, it's pretty terrible.
emulation isn't bad, but it isn't an argument, because that can be used for literally game. why even sell any game if the game file is just gonna be online in a week. the argument doesn't hold any water.

@@victorino9202 Like I said u use it to use F.L.U.D.D's nozzles, just because it resembles the gamecube x button it could be a reference to it or Nintendo used early footage. The reason Mario 64's menu button changed is because N64 had a start button, not a + button.

Try telling Nintendo fanboys that Sunshine is better than 64 and they throw a fit. But it is. And holy moly does it get better with the better sunshine engine. Theres a split-screen AND an Online mod, Super Mario Sunburn and Eclipse take Sunshine even further. You should look into these sometime :)

10:28 any modern computer can run Mario galaxy and sunshine, true EXCEPT DAMN WEAKBOOKS(ChromeBooks) also phones are more portable than laptops and a good enough phone maybe can run galaxy at a stable FrameRate above 25 same for sunshine but sunshine is less demanding so yeah, I tried to run rhythm heaven wii on my phone(Motorola e6+) it ran at like 15 fps but keep in mind, it's not the strongest phone so yeah, I understand that people don't like emulation that's fine you can just not like emulation or like it, it's opinions, opinions are opinions
They're good games, and I'd say it's _kind of_ worth a buy for how much content you're getting, but it's still a garbage collection. The only game have that got a respectable upgrade was Sunshine, but they still could've done a better job.

The problem i see is limiting the game to only be sold until march. But, Basically every first party nintendo switch game is $60 and is nothing new. Im not defending every game being $60 or it being limited but its nothing really new at this point.

It is a fucking shit show with what they are doing with the collection. There should be no reason to have it as a timed exclusive. You made all the points in the video that pisses casual player's off like me. I'm more for PS4 but I do enjoy a little of Nintendo. But it's stupid to have the game limited especially with the pandemic. The price is fucking bullshit. 20 bucks for each of them really? It's more expensive over here but why the price. If they tweaked more than just putting them out there might be a good point for it but no. N64 game that only has the plus button on the start screen and change the colour to a button in Sunshine. Really? It's ridiculous. Just give fucking N64 games, oh wait there's Doom 64. So if you got that you can do other game's. Not everyone still owns a Wii U and be able to buy Galaxy 1 and 2 for whatever price. Plus pretty sure Nintendo wants to pull the eshop on the Wii U.
This is a good deal in my opinion because you get to play old mario games on the go is if you have never played this but it's stupid how it's limited and mario 64 is frame rate capped

I played these games on my GPD Win on the go. Any mediocre laptop will do, too. Frankly, who even plays on the go? I had to go from city to city by train every day for three years, that's why I got a handheld PC in the first place and I thought I was a vast minority. I have a suspicion that most of the buyers are little kids who really want to take their Switch to their friends everywhere or something. No one really needs the portability function of the Switch. Heck, I don't even take my GPD Win to LANs. I just unplug my desk PC and plug it back in when I'm at the LAN.

Or for 30 minutes for the up to two doctor appointments per year? Insults may not be civil but it doesn't invalidate a discussion with logical arguments. Look at the Atheist Experience. Matt is the most logical person I've ever seen but he throws around insults left and right when he realizes people are fucking with him.
And that's kind of the issue that we have when it comes to discussing problems as a species. People lose their mind when they see a bad word in discussions, but when an argument is riddled with BS and fallacies and passive aggressiveness nobody bats an eye. Political debates are an actual shitshow because of this issue. Everyone's just trying to appeal to emotion rather than facts, because sadly it fucking works.

I'm just saying. In the video, he said nobody has bought this game, and that couldn't be further from the truth. Hundreds of thousands of people, including me, have bought it already. And secondly, my mom and dad are divorced, and I have to switch between their houses, so portability matters a lot to me, as taking consoles to my dad is a difficult process. That's why this is so important to me. So please don't crap on people for buying this cause you don't know what they're going through.

Emotions are seldom a good argument and in this case they work directly against you. You should call out Nintendo on their BS for all the future divorce cases who will no longer be able to purchase the game within a few months.
You could have played these games portably on emulators on laptops or handheld PCs years ago without this overpriced package. That's the part you should have used your brain on. I legit did watch the video, but to be fair, I feel like I didn't agree with appt of the points he made. It was still a good video, but some of the things he says, I don't agree with. I don't have a laptop or a they, so no, I couldn't "use my brain"to make a laptop or of thin air and emulate the games. News flash: laptops are expensive. This has the of my favorite games for a $60 price point, but for me, that's worth it. I can see the point your trying to make, but I have a rich history with these games, and am more than willing to pay for them. If you don't want to get them, then don't. @@toastyfrosty64 Usually youd have to carry so much shit to use it 'portably' (the laptop itself, a power brick, a mouse, and a pad), vs the Switch where the most youd have to carry on is a power brick/bank (maybe have a carry on for games if youre a physical guy, but that's the absolute worst I can think it)

And yeah, Id rather take 3 ports for $60 cause thats more or less just $20 a pop. Not ideal, but could be worse. Plus if they werent in a bundle Id buy all them anyway cause I love these games that fucking much xD
Have you ever heard of the GPD Win? It released before the Switch and I had it before the Switch. Skyrim with mods on the go, from my PC library so I didn't even have to rebuy it for 60 bucks. Oh, and I already played Mario 64 and Sunshine on it in 2017.

Im guessing yard sales and stuff like that unless you count their older digital releases on the Wii and Wii U (the only one I could see being rare is sunshine). Too bad Nintendo will never implement something like Good Old Games which aims at preserving games while still rewarding their publishers a bit, with full compatibility with modern systems and no DRM.

@@dearsirdearyou4153 Three games that aren't worth 60 bucks together Mario 64 cost 10 bucks on the virtual console before and galaxy cost 20 on the wii u sunshine is in the middle so it should be like 15 bucks so 45 is a fair price 20 bucks each for these games is super steep (i still bought the collection because i wanted to play galaxy)
