    Good Morning. :) I don't know if your husband has other health concerns besides high blood pressure. Almond flour is low carb and gluten free, however it is high calorie and high fat. Whole grain wheat or ancient grains like spelt flour may be better choices.
    Maybe keeping an eye on his sodium intake would be good? Beet root extract can help lower bp. I recall you said he is a very driven individual...always busy...I hope he can find more time to add relaxation to his day. Also greatly reduce caffeine or other stimulants. You can add flax seed meal to baked goods to increase fiber and that too helps lower bp. I am glad the severe storms did not hit your farm. God bless you all.

      Thank you for the advice. No other health concerns for him. Yes he is very driven, always go go go. Trying my best to get him to relax and unwind a bit as well. He usually says something like, oh there’s plenty of time for that someday… meaning when he’s gone, he’ll rest. Anyway, wive’s worry and do what we can to help our husbands. Lots of sweets and bakery isn’t going to help him so I’m rethinking a lot right now.

      I have hbp and fight chf and I do almond, coconut and flax. I cannot do wheat or things like that. A low carb low sodium diet has been best for me and so without surgery my dr has been happy. Love my dr she told me to do the Mediterranean diet which eats more fish etc but I do mostly chicken with a little red meat now and then and lots of veggies. Low carb/keto snacks. Lower the caffeine and salt. Happy searching. It becomes a new lifestyle and you eventually get used to it.

    sodium sodium sodium iv seen to many worry about things like sugar when it was the sodium. Not only that but movement is very crucial i don't mean encourage him to push it harder that And high BP can lead to bad things. I mean set something you do every day with him like an end of the day walk or morning walk together something for you two time together so to speak It really do wonders for the soul. oh and Calcium Magnesium Zinc vitamin D and Potassium older folk seem to be lacking in one of them And when lacking enough various problems can feed others

      Regular table salt is BAD, iodized salt! Use Celtic sea salt, much much healthier. Redmans real salt is also a good choice
