I have a friend who lived here for years and was from Australia. The one thing I learned from her was that as Australian you are accommodated to have a lot more sun than we are and even us have problems to get our vitamin D. The big difference is that your body is use to have a lot of it. So you are going to need to supplement it in bigger dose than what the locals do. And you probably should do that no matter if it winter or summer. They don't talk about that in here because most don't understand the difference. That was one of the thing she was taught by the company she worked so I would trust to that information. And that will be super important for your health in so many ways especially now when we are heading towards the dark months. Please take care of that aspect.

    • @thought_criminal14
      @thought_criminal14 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

When supplementing with vitamin D you have to remember most of the supplements are extremely low in vitamin D.
A typical vitamin D supplement is 5 to 10 uq with 50 uq already considered "high". A Norwegian study found that just 20 minutes of being outside in Oslo gives you 10 000 to 20 000 IUs of vitamin D, that's 250 - 500 uq.
So a 50 uq "high" dose of vitamin D is only 10% of what you would get in just 20 minutes of being outside. In order for vitamin D supplement to have any effect you have to use 4 000 to 50 000 IU ranges (100 - 1250 uq).
There's studies done that show you only really start to get benefits from vitamin D with 50 000 IU + range over a long period of time. That's no surprise since that would equal to only around 50 minutes of sun.

Glad this video ended up in my feed. It's rare to find such beautifully made emotional videos that you don't instantly forget, reminds me a bit of Gifgas (without the mischief lol). Thanks for turning me into happy mood, you have a new Finnish sub. :-)

Hello from a fellow Jyväskylä resident! I'm glad you've enjoyed your journey here so far and I hope it'll continue on this trajectory. Your video making skills are top-notch. I couldn't even believe 20 minutes had passed by so quickly! You've earned my subscription, sir.

You are so brave to move to Finland, especially with the distance to Australia. As a finn you just made me appreciate my homeland so much more. Thank you for that! The editing, cinematography and music on this video was so sick and beautifully delivered! Overall this has to be one of the best quality videos that I've seen in a while. You just earned yourself a new subscriber! :) Good luck with your future adventures!

this video is so so good. i dont have good enough words to describe but i have to say the cinematography and visuals made me feel something. im so happy you took this big risk and were so adventurous at this age - im 20 right now and i feel like we should have a sense of urgency when it comes to pursuing our dreams so we can cross those barriers earlier

Wow, this was a pleasure to watch. The storytelling, the quality. Thank you.
And it’s nice to see an Aussie moving to Finland as quite a lot of Finns go the other way. It’s mesmerizing to see your appreciation of our country, it makes me deeply proud and happy to be a Finn. Most of us love our country beyond measure, but for some reason we are always taken by surprise when somebody sees the same beauty we do.
Wishing you a smooth transition towards the dark night of winter (it has its own charm). Take care!

Good luck surviving the winter, mate.
It's a beautiful country, especially for nature lovers, the summer months are definitely the best, but if you're okay with the cold, there's no shortage of winter hobbies.
    Really well made video!

What a beautiful video! It's interesting as a finnish person to see our country through the eyes of an immigrant. It is refreshing to see things you have become accustomed to and taken for granted in a new light. I hope you enjoy staying here! This video is really well made and had a really nice atmosphere.

Hello William, first of all, very well edited video! Second, you dug into the main part of Finland right from the start, which is nature. Nature is the CORE of every Finnish person, we are connected to it in a way that few can understand it. The Peace it can give to you. Even the natives in the America embraced us because of our connection to the nature. There is literally people called Finndians in the America LOL (look it up). Anyways, great video and I hope you'll find your place among us. I will certainly welcome you here with such a great and broad perspective of it all!

Nice video dude! Native Finn here and what you have experienced so far is the amazing summer of Finland! But the winter can be hard for you at first to get used to. There is also beauty to winter especially in the north but it is always so dark for so long. Have a good one!

Congrats on making this, and tervetuloa Suomeen! It's clearly seen that much effort went into this and the cinematography and editing were both excellent. Really the only thing I felt was missing is the whydunit / the motives and goals behind your move (Though maybe they were explained elsewhere, I just sailed here through the algorithm and haven't seen any of your other stuff.)
