I have never been around a wood cook stove before. As a kid we had a wood stove (the metal top would flip back) for extra heat and my dad would cook a pot of beans on it once in a while. Good for when the power went down in bad winter weather up north. Enjoy 💛🙏👍

I like to keep 2 gallon size ziplock bags in my freezer. One is marked chicken and the other is marked beef. Any time there is dabs of leftovers, I put it in the appropriate bag. When a bag is full, I make soup. I save that tablespoon of corn, left over gravy, mashed potatoes bits of meat, rice, etc. Over time these bits add up to one wonderful soup :)

I did a lot of things. I would do an egg and toast or egg in a basket. I have done garden soup...veggies from the garden. We had pinto beans and corn bread. Split pea soup is very inexpensive but is extra tasty with a bit of ham. Chicken soup made from the carcass of a chicken, carrots, onions, and some noodles. Stir fry from garden veggies, bean sprouts, and some itty bit of meat. Chili made in in the crock pot. Three bean soup. Frittatas from chicken eggs and garden veggies. Macaroni salad. Potato Salad. Cucumber Salad. Homemade toast with homemade jam. Pumpkin soup. Zucchini lasagna.

Throw some veggies in there from the garden and eating like a king!💕

And make sure to use up left overs

Be sure to drink a full glass of water, before eating. It makes a world of difference. May YAH Bless

AGREE... I sometimes wonder if they are shipping our good foods elsewhere and giving us the scraps that are left over and then charging us a fortune for it. Mehhh maybe I am just being silly.

Emma, you need a summer kitchen built in back of the house with room for your canned goods and a counter for your canning and butchering . Would give you so much more living space and cooking space. Love your little village. You have the right idea . You got this , girl.

You are on the right track .slow down less stress eat closer to the garden ,less processed foods .Clyde ,from one former welder to another,stop and smell the roses and remember that you are important to alot of important people! Helo Emma, Do you remember when Jacob put almond rods that he had stripped off part of the bark, in front of the mating goats, in order to produce more striped and spotted baby goats? Well his efforts were ridiculous of course, but God honored his faith and desires. God is in control of our lives and our health. I think our efforts to affect the outcomes are much like Jacob's, sort of silly because we just don't know that much, but God in His great mercy, has compassion on us and honors our desires. Hello Emma. :) Loved this video. I completely agree with you that our grandparents did not suffer the health problems that plague many today. I think a good part of it is that food was not tampered with as it is now. Roundup didn't exist, GMO products didn't exist and pesticides were not as they are today. They also had a lifestyle that was less sedentary than our lives full of convenience. I do not use coconut oil, which is claimed to be very healthy. My cardiologist said it is one of the worst, along with palm oil. He said if he had to choose between one of those and butter or even lard, he would choose the latter because it is less destructive to health. I was pretty flabbergasted by that. I have mixed feelings on sugar substitutes too. My husband is T2 diabetic and I've been using Truvia Sweet Complete, which is a stevia, erythritol blend or Truvia Cane Sugar Blend for baking. It seems to work well. I bake very rarely these days. I have not tried in in jams, jellies or preserves. I use pectin that is made for no sugar/low sugar instead and it works well. I figured that fruit spreads are not eaten by the bowlful, so using a small amount of real sugar would not upset the applecart and taste better too. I think you hit the nail on the head reminding us that a wonderful good thing like banana bread is a treat, not the main event and should be enjoyed a slice at a time. Moderation is the key. :) I am glad that you will be baking again. Baking and cooking is my happy place and I haven't baked much in four years. I miss it. I got really sick few years ago . I found out I have celiac disease and it’s causes lots food allergies . I tried the almond flours and things but the best I’ve used is jovial Einkorn flour it’s low in gluten and usually organic it has much better taste then the others and I use honey . It has helped me a lot and I can bake again 🙏

feed him 1/4 raw red onion everyday , make him chew it and drink glass of water afterwards .
