    I wanted to add that San Antonio is about 150 miles from the coast. So you could just as easily head South on I-37 and be at the beach in about 2 hours.
    When hurricanes hit the Gulf Coast, San Antonio usually just gets the winds and rain, and also the people fleeing the hurricane. San Antonio also has Sea World of Texas and
    Six Flags Fiesta Texas. San Antonio is also the 7th largest city in the U.S. going on the 6th largest soon. We are about to surpass Philadelphia.

      The summers can get pretty warm, this year it’s taken some time to warm up. We just had a cold front this week and the low was 47 degrees. It got up to the high 60’s. May-September it will be warmer. Our summer months will get up to 90-100. But we have plenty of places to cool off and all homes come with central cooling and heating. I shared a video last week on the cost of living. It’s a total breakdown of costs to expect out here.

I'm from utah and was living on my own in my first apartment, paying my own bills, bought my first car with cash etc making 8.00 an hour. I move to California, got a job where I was making 19.50 an hour(which was a dollar more per hour compared to my last job) but was taking home 100.00 less per paycheck and I hadn't even set up insurance yet.

      I was born and raised in San Antonio, never lived anywhere else. My first of two step-fathers was born and raised in Virginia. I was a teen at the time he was around and I always got a kick out of him walking around town with a t-shirt and no jacket during our 'cold' winters. Others would stare too whenever we went out. The rest of us locals walk around with parka-type jackets and there he was looking like it's summer. Our winters average in the 40's to 50's but can dip into the 30's for a day or two at times. Our summer months average high 80's to 90's and can get into the just over 100 degrees during late August to early September. 102 is usually the highest with an occasional up to 104, but anything over is really rare. But hey, we love our ac's!

      It’s not all that bad, we live in the suburbs and haven’t really had issues with any of them. On occasion we’ll see baby scorpion’s in our garage during the warmer months. We just make sure to keep the house fumigated. We do see a lot of wild hogs, those are more afraid of us then anything but they will tear up your lawn while they look for grub. I lived there for 2 years in San Antonio, it's a beautiful place, things to do and not far from Austin. Just be prepared for heavy traffic also watch while driving because you get some that will stop their vehicle on purpose so they can cause an accident especially around holidays. There is the 85mph toll that will take you around austin if you want to see other places . I use to live in Fortworth as well so the 85mph tool road came in handy. Loved River walk. Just make sure you look what area you want to live in San Antonio because some areas were not that great .Enjoy Texas

    • @patricisatxrealtor
      @patricisatxrealtor  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The speed limit is the same but Dallas driving anxiety is REAL!! I was there last spring to pick up our puppy, I just about cried because it was 5 o'clock traffic on a Friday! People here are ok drivers, you will see someone driving on the far left lane going 55. Most people just go around them. I'm out on the road all day so I more or less know when to expect more traffic during the day. The city decided to finally expand one of our major highways so that should help alleviate some of the traffic. Hope this helps!

      Hey there! it all will depend on your budget for renting or buying. The inflation is real in both cities however, I still feel San Antonio is way more affordable compared to Austin. Austin also allows homeless people all over the place, here in San Antonio there are shelters for them so we don't see them out as much. Not saying we don't have them but its not all over the place. Austin is also about an hour and a half from San Antonio, we like to take day trips from time to time. Don't hesitate to reach out if you would like more info. You could also consider Olmos Park, Shavanno Park, Alamo Heights, Stone Oak, Timberwood Park, Alamo Ranch, Dominion, Converse, New Braunfels, Bulverde and Seguin there is a lot more! I should probably create some content on these areas! More to come♥️

      @@lucygomez5586 When compared to other states, Texas property taxes are significantly higher. While the national average tends to fall between 1.08% and 1.21%, Texas’ average effective property tax rate is above 1.83%. On top of that, the state sales tax rate is 6.25%. According to the Tax Foundation, that makes the overall state and local tax burden for Texas 7.6%. So, are Texas property taxes too high? That’s a matter of perspective, but they’re undoubtedly high, and there’s a reason so many residents are concerned about facing delinquency.

      @@patricisatxrealtor I live in Portland right now but really see it just going down the drain. But it's time to move on.
      I'm pretty unique so I don't really expect to fit in perfectly anywhere....but definitely want to be around people who aren't judgemental and have family values. The link for the home search. As far as the schools go parents have the option to keep the kids at home and learn online or go in person. We use schoology it’s a pretty awesome platform because it’s all in one location for them. They can do everything from going to class, completing assignments and communicating with teachers and peers. They have a regular school/bell schedule like they would if they were in person. Teachers are really responsive to parents and students. The parents even have a Facebook group page, it’s another awesome way to know what’s going on with the school district.
