I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for...
Have you considered moving out a little bit? That’s what we did. We actually have milk goats ,chickens, ducks, fruit trees, nut trees and a garden and feel much more secure being able to provide more for ourselves and be less dependent on the system
Sorry. this situation sucks for millions and millions of Americans. Let alone our fellow Texans. I'm 28 and trying to grow in life. But it's been stagnant even with a promotion. Such a backwards future.. this situation sucks just as much for young men who strive to get a little further in life year by year. Seriously Fuck, these ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS! And FUCK these DEMOCRATS who wanted them here... every Democrat should be forced to take in a illegal immigrant family and help them get on their feet😂
I moved here 6 years ago and love this city and I have to say some of the most friendliest people you have ever met. I have lived all over the country and I don't regret a minute of my time spent here.
I moved here 3 months before covid and I love it. I've lived all over the country, and this place is amazing. I love the environment, the weather, and the people. The best decision I ever made was moving here.
Fun fact: Bexar is pronounced "Behar" because when the Spanish came, the J was not yet in the Spanish alphabet. Reason why México in Spanish is spelled with an X but pronounced with a Spanish J sound. I've been living in SA since 2003.
Michael thank you for the great video. Meyer Ranch have that special feeling for families to make great memories. At night the sky is amazing. Lots of little ones enjoying the park and pool.
I lived in SA, prop taxes were 3% and went up every year. Houses are built cheaply, cutting corners. Foundations are not dug into ground for stability. They are on top of unleveled ground with brush and weeds left in place.
When did you live here? I’m not sure where you ever saw foundations built like that. But property tax rates are most definitely not 3% or even close to that on average here. And for the record, for my house, the tax rate has gone down the last two years. Not up.
I moved from California to San Antonio back in 2011 and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life. San Antonio is getting crowded though and it's not as cheap as it used to be 😢. Thanks for the video. I really like it here. But housing has gotten ridiculous. I wouldn't be able to afford a house in my area now (1604 and Culebra) if I had to do that move in 2024, which is crazy 😢.
Thank you for this video🙏👍! I’m seriously thinking 🤔 of moving to San Antonio or New Braunfels …or Helotes in 2026 or sooner 🙏✝️😇🤔…..Sonia from Orange County California
I love San Antonio, but my biggest issue since settling here after I left the military is how slow things develop here. I get the history needs to be preserved, but damn something new won't take that away. Then public transportation anywhere in Texas isn't great but it's sad we don't have lite rail and the airport is finally getting a bit more going for it, but overall it's a great place to raise a family, but good luck if you're single or looking for the kind of nightlife you find in Dallas, Houston, Austin, or places like that. Clubs and bars close at 1 or 2am Frost Bank and Church's Chicken started here and Frost Bank still has one of it's main corporate offices here as well.
I moved here in 12/2022 and have family that have lived in SA, Austin and Dallas since early 80s. I’ve been to plenty of SA restrooms (restaurants and office buildings) and they’re fine. Why do you feel they’re unfriendly?
Definitely going to find some there. But no matter where you're at, they're few and far between. Like I mentioned though, keep that pest control coming and you'll be fine!
Everyone must know that if you drive a ford truck, you WILL get it broken into. Plan on this being a constant thing. Also even had my taillights stolen, apparently it’s a thing here too, and it will take a long time to get them replaced. Real estate and rental prices are overpriced. Investors have bought up tons of properties and price gouge people. If you have a family with kids I’d recommend just moving to Boerne, Bulverde, or New Braunfels to keep your kids out of the ghetto schools.
I use to live and work in Orlando, Fl and the heat Index is probably worst then Texas😂 jk haha.... My friend and I think about moving to San Antonio or Dallas and want to know if one of these city right for us. I heard it a lot to do in entertainment wise. Btw you forgot to mention all the entertainment like fun theme or water parks and concerts if you guys get big name artists.
There’s a lot to do here but it all depends on what you enjoy the most for where you decide to end up. We don’t get a ton of the big big name concerts but still get plenty of options between the Alamodome and Frost Bank Center. Downtown is way underrated in my opinion and there is quite a bit of stuff to do in the suburbs as well.
@@LifeinSATX So SA don't get artists like Beyoncè, Harry Styles, Jonas Brothers, Janet Jackson or Taylor Swift to come there. You guys ranked the second largest city in Texas.
I don’t sugar coat anything. You want to live in a great place, move to San Antonio. It’s like anywhere else in the world, there’s bad areas and good areas. There’s also angry, miserable people that are going to try to be negative about everything, especially on the internet, but I can tell you that 1,000% there are SOOO many more great people here than people like that. Your instincts are correct, San Antonio is a great place to live. Take what the trolls say with a grain of salt.
@@LifeinSATX LOL.... I live in San Antonio...born and raised...I know what the deal is. I was shot at last night on Blanco and West Avenue, crime and violence are nothing new to this city. It's not negativity, it's the cold hard truth. Positivity lives in the mind no matter your circumstances.
@ABBY-ml2rq like I said, good areas and bad areas. Everything is based on having the right perspective. If you look for the negatives, you’ll find them. I’ve helped literally hundreds of people move here and not a single one has told me they regretted the move.

@festusmadidi2634 That's actually quite impressive, I could use some Info on your FA, I am looking to make a change on my finances this year as well
@festusmadidi2634 I will give this a look, thanks a bunch for sharing.

Love to hear that!!!
@LifeinSATX I wish I grew up here. My life would have been so much better.
Spoken like a true realtor. Everything is sunshine and rainbows until you actually move here 😅😅 J/S

@@Brother_TD I like living here.
Facts!
I’m planning ahead for my Navy retirement in TX and you have really opened my mind to SATX again. Thank you Michael ❤
Get a property tax break if you’re a veteran on disability.
@@FacesintheStone absolutely I am loving the benefits TX offers veterans thank you so much!

You’re welcome! Anything else you’re interested in seeing for future videos?
@@LifeinSATX Yes.....your favorite restaurants, throughout the city.......
It's takes 12 hours to get in and out of the state of Texas....90 degrees weather to the end of November 😮
I stay in a four Star ⭐ hotel in San Antonio I won't turn the Air conditioning off ......
This was a great video, Michael. Thank you.

Can’t wait to come back and work with you to find our forever home!

I have traveled all over the US but here in SA where I live, it's the most restroom unfriendly city in America!
In what way? Please tell
I moved here in 12/2022 and have family that have lived in SA, Austin and Dallas since early 80s. I’ve been to plenty of SA restrooms (restaurants and office buildings) and they’re fine. Why do you feel they’re unfriendly?
Florida gets that heat index too - except it's a sauna - very difficult
Great content! Really helps with deciding on moving to there or not. Considering moving from San Diego, CA
You’re spoiled with San Diego weather. It’s very hot and muggy in SA mid-May through mid-September.
You’re absolutely awesome!!!!
You forgot "LA Cantera" they call it "lock n terra"
Fair point! Can't say I've ever had anyone mispronounce it so I didn't even think to include it.
Do you do rental properties? I want to move to SA from NJ
Are there scorpions in Boerne?
Definitely going to find some there. But no matter where you're at, they're few and far between. Like I mentioned though, keep that pest control coming and you'll be fine!
Could you please inform me the safest area to live in SA ? And how much rent for one bed room?
Anything northwest of 1604 (look at San Antonio like a clock ⌚) 9-12 is the best and safest areas. Rent can vary
Nice video thank you
Is it walkable or bikesble ?
Definitely areas that are. Downtown and the areas around downtown are your best bets!

China buying property here as well under Investor status. . .esp up by Somerset, China Grove, Adkins ( close to Toyota plant)

Bless his young heart.. must live in a gated community in Alamo Heights or Stone Oak. He didn't really say anything about the reality of living in S.A
What do you mean by that ? It seems like a nice place to live low crime and family friendly. Please tell about a more realistic life there .
