And to my suprise she still has the games in her room now 18 years old and her Wii is somewhere around in the storage building, but im glad she still has these. I remember holding them intresting me.
That’s because you are pairing it and not merely connecting it. IOW, it’s not a “connect” button. To connect you just press any button on any paired controller after pairing. It will wake up and reconnect. Just avoid pressing 1+2 to wake it up, since that puts the controller in Guest Syncing mode. Guest Sync will connect without wiping out the old pairing data so you can take it to a friend’s home to temporarily use it on a different device and it will still work with your Wii/primary device when you get home. Very convenient.
