Hey, me too! I was really annoyed to find out it couldn't play GameCube games; I was really looking forward to being able to play Pokemon Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness.
The "Everybody Votes Channel" could of easily inspired a huge part of Splatoon, being Splatfests. Dogs vs. Cats was an actual theme, being the first in North America and 6th in Europe.
Actually, the Wii disc drive (well, the GameCube compatible ones, anyway) can actually read and play DVD videos, but Nintendo didn't feel like paying DVD FLLC royalties for the logo on the box of every Wii.
To play the DVD’s you need to homebrew your Wii and download WiiMC. WiiMC is a media player for the wii and you can play videos on it. Insert a supported DVD disc into the console and browse the video files you want to play.
I still have my launch edition Wii with the stand. I never noticed the Logo was changed in later models to be horizontal! I love the GameCube emulation & controller ports. It's kind of weird that the adult games are on the GameCube mostly.
Fun fact: GameCube is not even getting emulated, it's running native in GameCube Mode, which is just restricting Wii Hardware to GameCube Hardware basically
Fact 40 is the Joycon lights. In reality, player 5 has the first two lights, player 6 with the first three and player 7 with all four. There was no eighth wiimote support

all of these were super obvious. how is this supposed to be facts YOU Didn't Know but then you say stuff like "did you know the wii was called the revolution in development?!" like yes i think pretty much everyone did
I had a gyration Mouse when I was in college. Around 2001. It's insane not knowing I was buying something partly owned by nintendo. It was a cool house, you could pick it up in the mouse turned into a pointer. Brilliant idea, surprised they never caught on... On PCs
5:45 The LEDs for players 5 to 7 are counting in binary, with the top LED representing the number 4, the 2nd LED is blank, the 3rd LED represents 2 and the 4th LED represents 1, e.g. the 1st and 3rd LED lit result in 4 + 2 = 6. The only odd one out is the number 8 which can't be represented that way.
Bonus: The Wii Classic (and pro) controller can be use on the NES Classic controller slots. So if you have them and don't wanna buy an expensive NES Classic controller, you're in luck 👍 (Also you can mod your NES or other Classic consoles to play more games. For the other light patterns on the remote, it kinda looks like binary for 5,6 and 7, although the highest bit is shifted left. And then I have no idea for eight, probably just a random pattern they chose. 5:40
