    Just in case you ever need to fix a wiimote or any other wii controller, there is a wiibrew utility called Visual Controller Test (I noticed that you had the HBC installed) which lets you test every button on several different kinds of controller for the Wii. Could be useful for you in the future.

    Stez, thats the greatest 'low effort' hot air soldering. Didn't even bother taking it out of the plastic cases. I was totally expecting this to end with "and this is why you should always take the boards out before working on them, kids"

    That's a Motion plus Adapter that you attach to the bottom of the Remote and it is able to play certain Wii games that require it like Wii Sports Resort.

    You probably know this already but it's prudent to use capton tape when delodering fuses/capacitors/etc so that it absorbs heat and makes it harder to accidentialy remoce something you didn't want.

    🐨 A couple of times I used an old tin can "Tin that can be soldered" to fashion a copy of a broken terminal, I used a pair of scissors believe it or not to cut the tin.
    Just make sure both sides of the tin is conductive, by soldering a blob of solder where the battery contacts the new terminal.
    APU I dropped a like

    For battery leakage your best bet is vinegar. But make sure you neutralize the vinegar with baking soda+water solution, rinse off with water and finally apply some alcohol to dissipate water and prevent corrosion. Don't leave vinegar on for too long as it could eat trough factory coatings on metal components.

    • @StezStixFix

    1. Have you had or heard of such a case?
    2. Do you know where to get a set of battery springs for the remote, as you know, the most common problem with the wii remote is leaking batteries, corrosion, etc. and I can't find the parts anywhere unless I type something wrong hmmm

      Hi punishrs! Hmm, I'm not entirely sure what would cause no cursor at all, other than a problem with the sensor at the end of the Wiimote, or possibly the black screen in front of it (if it is scratched or dirty). I would take it apart and have a look at the sensor end for any signs of corrosion or dirt, then give it a scrub and see if you get any joy. • @mrh829
      @mrh829 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Any of those aftermarket "battery packs" were always a complete joke, even when brand new, because they only used batteries rated around 500mAh. Just buy yourself some GOOD rechargeable AA batteries, and you'll be a lot happier. All I use in my Wii remotes to this day are eneloop batteries. The key factor to look for is NiMH batteries that are "low self-discharge" (eneloop is the biggest brand in this category, and they are fantastic, but there are other brands that offer this as well).

    ive just checked my wii motion plus module and the connector seems to have movement in by design. Later wii motes had motion plus built in. Motion plus adds additional gyro and accelerometers which coupled with the distance from the on board gyro and accelerometers provides much more accurate motion sensing which is used in certain games but makes no difference in games which are not designed to use it.
